The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 Hey, Lord of Lurry, maybe what I meant wit the BSS album is that every single instrument seems mixed at to the front so that there's no real blaance or anaything, it's just all right there. It'd be like if there was a symphony where everyinstrument was playing at fortissimo from start to finsih. i just thnk thery could've taken advantage of the faders at the mixing table. Maybe I didn't mean production? EDIT: I've never made so many typos in my life. Not gonna touch it.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted March 2, 2006 I can't read most of that. I hope you're Asian, or something. California Dreams debuted in '92, City Guys in '97. Sidenote: the debut of City Guys was pushed back a week due to the funeral of Princess Di. Anyways, they were both done by the same people who came up with Saved By The Bell. Dreams originally centered around the Garrison family, whose son and daughter had a band with two of their friends, and were managed by their scheming friend Sly. They added Jake, the tough guy with a heart of gold stereotype, and foreign exchange student Samantha, and then phased the brother and sister out, and had Jake lead the band, now with Sam on vocals. With the Garrisons gone, Sam moved in with Lorena Costa (HOT), and then they also added Sly's cousin Mark, who was a piano prodigy from New York. It lasted five years and pops up in syndication every couple of years. City Guys was about a group of kids at Manhattan ("Manny") High School. The leaders of the group were Jamal, the streetwise kid from Harlem, and Chris, who was a preppy Park Avenue type. Their friends included Al (Spanish kid with the get rich quick schemes), L-Train (reformed class bully), Cassidy (blonde aspiring actress), and Dawn (cute bookwormy type). Their principal was Ms. Noble, who was as mentioned the grandmother from Ghost Writer, and also had a role on The Cosby Show as well, I think as Elvin's mom. Anyways, this one had a lot more serious scenarios than the typical TNBC sitcom, as it dealt with issues like racism, date rape, gun control, poverty, etc. For the question about the last episode, it had the whole gang and Ms. Noble hanging out at the diner reminiscing, with the requisite flashbacks. As the episode went on people began leaving the diner (usually a goodbye scene happened every commercial break) until it came down to Chris and Jamal, and after their goodbye, Jamal was standing in the diner alone, not believing he just had to say goodbye to all his best friends. City Guys is actually the only TNBC show to begin and end with the same cast intact. Even SBTB doesn't count because of the "Tori" era. Save for the original love interest (who was cast aside after the first ep in favor of Cassidy's character), everybody from the show lasted from the beginning to the end.
