CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2006 That's gold. I turned to my dad as Phil walked up thre 18th and said ' I can't wait to see the reaction, and the sour looks they give one another'. He replied with ' I was just thinking the same thing'. I don't think the sitting thing was out of spite, but the handshake delay was definitely weird.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2006 Inspired by Rocco's 10(!) at the 12th hole yesterday, Sportscentre's top 10 tonight is 'Golf's Greatest Meltdowns' JD's 18 at the '98 Colonial should take the cake, but we're still 15 minutes or so away. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2006 Maybe on one hole. The greatest meltdown ever happened ten years ago this weekend. One of PTI's Mail Time questions was, "If Rocco pulled you out of the crowd and asked you to play the 12th hole for him, could you have done better than the 10 he shot?" Wilbon and Kornheiser said not a chance. Tony said he'd probably shoot a 15.

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2006 Is it the Heritage this week? Wouldn't suprise me to see Vijay get back to the winners circle.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2006 I think this is the week that Davis Love shakes off whatever's been wrong with him lately. This would be the place for him to do it.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2006 I expect Davis to make a serious run at the US Open title this year at Winged Foot. In fact if I were going to bet, I'd probably be putting money on him and Phil.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2006 I hope Phil doesn't win the US Open. I couldn't bare to hear talk of Phil going for the "Lefty" Slam at the British Open. Scratch the Vijay pick. He's not playing this week. I'll take Darren Clarke. Here's an idea for anyone interested. Everyone predicts who they think is going to win each week. You can only use a player twice, and only one of those picks can be a major tournament. Money and finish will determine who "wins" each week.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 That sounds like a good idea. I'll stick with Davis Love.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Great. Anyone interested PM me your choices by Thursday 12:00 AM CST. I'm dfeinitely in, but lemme look at the field first. What happened ten years ago this weekend? Well, it was last weekend, but that was the 10th anniversary of Norman's collapse in the Masters.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 I'm surprised you didn't get that CG. I'm picking Love to win this tourney.

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Who doesn't want Love? Love three times, no less. (By which I mean his name is DL3, my tentative pick is Justin Leonard). I can't believe I didn't catch on the Norman collapse. They didn't mention it much this week, did they?
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 I can't believe I didn't catch on the Norman collapse. They didn't mention it much this week, did they? No, they decided to beat the 20th anniversary of Jack's last win into the ground instead. Incidentally, I watched the rebroadcast of the '86 Masters on CBS Sunday. I had the same chills I got watching it live as an 11-year-old.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 I need some suggestions. Who gets Love. Chris or RedBaron?
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 incidentally, did anyone else find the most annoying part of Sunday's broadcast to be when one of the announcers (I think it was Nance) layed out this ridiculous scenario of things that had to happen for Woods to get back in it? It involved Mickelson missing what looked to be a routine putt, then Woods making every single shot down the stretch. Then a couple of seconds later, Mickelson makes his putt and Woods misses and that was the last we heard about that.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 I need some suggestions. Who gets Love. Chris or RedBaron? Does everyone really need to pick a different player? That could be troublesome for majors, where the first guy in with Tiger or Phil would have a significant advantage. That said, I did pick him first.

That could be troublesome for majors, where the first guy in with Tiger or Phil would have a significant advantage. That said, I did pick him first. Everyone should get two picks. One must be a darkhorse, in the interest of tiebreak. I mean, is anyone not going to pick Appelby next January?

That's an awfully conservative seven. And I'll take Leonard this week.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2006 You only get to pick a player twice, and only one can that be a major. It also can't be consecutive weeks either. In case anyone was trying. Darkhorses can be discussed.Everyone wants them, they'll be included. They won't come into to play this week. I apologize for not considering two people would pick Davis Love III. You both get Love. Tiebreaker will be finishing score.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2006 Culloden I'm going to change my player to Scott Verplank instead.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2006 Good pick. He would've been my second choice. Yes, they could. One into the water. Drop 2, hit 3 ten yards over the green to be safe. Chip. Three putt. That's an awfully conservative seven. I see two potential problems: 1) It's awfully easy to chip a ball in the water from over the green at 12. 2) Three-putts aren't a given on the Augusta greens. I could probably score single digits on a normal day, but with 10,000 people watching me hit, it might be a little different.
