Guest netslob Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Rock...I'm just tired of his act...every time he's on tv he does the same thing. Makes fun of the person interviewing him, repeatedly...makes they do something stupid...and then berates them some more. It stopped being funny a long time ago His matches are all predictable...he gets his ass beat forever then Hulks up for a big finish. The fans have more or less been brainwashed to cheer for a prick...when Test or Jericho has an ego like that JR says how they're bad people...Rock does the same thing and gets praised. yes...finally...someone ELSE who has seen the light. thank you Youth N Asia, for letting me know i'm not alone. Guest Adrian 3:16 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Godfather- Why the hell did they bring this guy back when my boy Raven is still off TV? Talk about your waste of a roster spot. Edge- Used to like him, but now he bores the hell out of me. The megapush from hell isn't working. Regal- See above. Test- See above, only I never liked him. Bradshaw- I never could get into our baby-oil loving friend either. Always been a Faarooq mark, though. Rikishi- The stinkface was funny the first time- 2 years ago. Bring back the Rikishi Driver! Spike Dudley- Should be presented as the pussy that he is. What's up with his new hardass look with the cut sleaves? Still a step up from his Big Show singlet- I felt like I was watching child porn when I saw that. Micheal Cole- 'Nuff said.

" As much as I admire Rock's tenacity (which makes up for his lack of skill) in the ring, his persona is getting stale to me. I'm not saying this because I like Austin, but it's because Rock has been a face for about 2 1/2 years, and it's time for something new and fresh. A heel turn should be in order post-Wrestlemania.....

Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 15, 2002 wrestling on Jakked or Metal every week does not constitute a push. Shoving Big Slow, Kane, UT, and Test down our throats constitutes a push. I mean c'mon, I would rather see Funaki and Crash on Raw and Smackdown every week then see the previously mentioned slugs.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Eh, I was 50/50 on posting in this thread, but what the hell? Okay, here's my list: The Dudleys- They are SO fucking stale at this point that it's pretty sad. Spike should have NEVER WON THE GODDAMN TAG TITLE BELT WITH THE USELESS ORANGE MIDGET!! Also, I'm just tired of D-Von ALWAYS doing the job for the team, goddamnit... HAVE THAT FAT FUCK BUH-BUH LAY DOWN FOR ONCE! Rock- For all of the reasons listed before. His cocky, egotist face persona was so played in 2000 and by the end of 2001 during the Jericho feud, it was outright pissing me off. A change is indeed needed at this point. Angle- Granted, he hasn't had much of a push, but I've gotten sick of him ever since the ULTRA BABYFACE PUSH FROM HELL~! last year against Austin. I'm not saying he's a shitty worker or anything, but geez..... how many Austin/Angle matches were there in 2001, twelve? He's a lower-tier main eventer and is going to get TV time granted, but I'm just so burnt out on him right now. HHH- Same as with Rock except for the fact that I hardly EVER liked HHH. Even during his supposedly "great" heel champ run in 2000. Edge- Please.... just go the fuck away already.... Regal- See above Trish and Stephanie McJuggs- Both of you, just leave...

Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Well, in the case of Angle/Rock/HHH, I don't want them to disappear, just scale down the super pushes some(and in Rock's case, a heel turn). As far as Edge goes, replace him with RVD(even though I personally don't like him, he's over as hell though). I think an IC Title division with RVD/Christian/Booker T/Kanyon/Rhyno(provided they could get the last two over with the rubes) would rock bells and would be eons better then the garbage we're being force fed right now with Regal and Edge.Hell, they could probably keep Edge there since the quality of competition would be pretty high and good matches could happen(if the WWF ever got serious about legitimizing the title again, that is). Hell, throw in Lance Storm and maybe Test(yeah, yeah... I like him, so what?) as job guys every now and then and you've got a damned good division on your hands. Speaking of Test, let me just say this little bit and I'm done with the whole "Test = heat leech" crap(but I do think it's true, I just don't blame HIM for it) Well, to me, Test, like many other midcarders(and some main eventers, lately) have just been the victims of inattentive retardedness from the bookers. I didn't like the girlfriend/marriage angle from 99 or the T&A garbage from 2000, but I thought that the heel turn to join the Alliance would change the poor guy's fortunes, but much like Angle last year(no flame or pun intended, Anglesault), he was thrown out there with jackshit and most of the time he was just someone in the background or made to look liek a complete tool. Personally, I think that if the bookers could finally sit down and logically think of a sensible angle/feud where he gives as good as he gets and really seems to improve his charisma(even I can admit he doesn't have any) that he will have heat on his own. BUT, with that, he would also have to spice up his moveset some because the foot choke/big kick/pump-handle slam garbage won't help a damn thing, especially with Big Lazy, the Promotion Killer coming in. To sum it all up, I think Test is just another victim of bad booking, it happens to even the best of wrestlers. The guy works hard in the ring and tries to keep up, so I cut him some slack. If you don't like him, hey, not my concern, you can like/dislike whoever you want. I'm just tired of being beaten over the head repeatedly with "Blah, blah, Test this, blah, blah, blah, Triple H that, blah, blah, RVD held down, etc, etc." It's getting downright stupid and irritating when a perfectly good thread gets ruined because of Test/HHH bashing or RVD being held down whining. Please, just let it end now, I beg of you...
Guest Sakura Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Shoving Big Slow, Kane, UT, and Test down our throats constitutes a push. I mean c'mon, I would rather see Funaki and Crash on Raw and Smackdown every week then see the previously mentioned slugs. Big Show and Kane? They're hardly "shoved down our throats". Actually, I've always wondered exactly what constitutes "shoving down your throat". I see the phrase used all the time here but have yet to see anyone say it for someone they like. The example above is exactly what I am talking about. Test is shoved down our throats? He gets matches on Raw and Smackdown, but so do a lot of people. Does that mean Jericho is shoved down our throats?
Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 15, 2002 at the moment think hhh and stephanie. they manage to find a way into every segment on tv, and always have the commentators garbling on about them. pretty much if JR especially pimps their facehood or heeldom, then the chances are that the person is being shoved down our throats. also angle las year after 11/9 was in a similar position, and test currently (sur ser last yr, fought over ic then won battle royal). Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I agree. Triple H's push in 99 is something that I constitute as someone being "shoved down our throats." I can also say the same for Austin's heel run last year, I thought was great, but GODDAMN... he was in almost every single segment and I was getting tired of it. It seemed like for every cool thing he did then("Hero/Jackass" relationship with Angle) there was pretty putrid crap thrown in(Wind Beneath Our Ring/feeling up JR/"What?"/bullying all the midcard Alliance members) Currently, I'd say that the McMahons are being shoved down our throats right now, maybe even HHH a little bit, but that's about it.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted February 15, 2002 So Test fights over the IC title and wins a jobber Battle Royal and he's "shoved down our throats" but Jericho pins Rock & Austin to win the Undisputed Championship and he's not? "Shoved down our throats" = "they're pushing this wrestler I don't like".
Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 15, 2002 actually, jericho won 2 matches, its not like he's appearing in every segment of raw and smackdown and having his name dropped at every opportunity by the announcers. and for the record, im a fan of hhh, but i still think he was forced down our throats. Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted February 15, 2002 RVD fits the bill here.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Jericho, as heel or face, is entertaining in and out of the ring, gets a positive reaction from the fans, thus he is satisfying a need, not being shoved down our throats. Kane and Show get a big pop for their entrance music, work (or lack of) with a silent crowd, and can't carry a promo or promote an angle to save our lives. But there's Jim Ross promoting these "hosses" like we should be impressed with the mediocre product we just witnessed. Jim Ross is shoving these guys down our throats when their ability can't get them over. I agree with the points about HHH, Austin etc. but I've already griped on previous posts about their being shoved down on our throats.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted February 15, 2002 actually, jericho won 2 matches, its not like he's appearing in every segment of raw and smackdown and having his name dropped at every opportunity by the announcers. Neither does Test.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 15, 2002 for a time last year, immediately following survivor series, he was getting a fair shill job from JR. and while test wasnt appearing in every segment ala hhh/steph, he was still managing to get involved in main storylines rock, booker t, whole ladies man bit. and hoganmadewrestling, rvd hardly fits the bill as being forced down our throats, he has been curtain jerking, or placed into meaningless tag team/6 man matches. its truly amazing that he manages to stay over.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Yeah, he was put over by Ross and he fought Rock once but Jericho is the CHAMPION. Jericho pinned Austin and Rock. He's not shoved down our throats but Test is, because he teamed up with Booker T? Yeah, ok.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 15, 2002 iirc, im pretty sure jericho didnt beat rock clean at vengeance, and i *know* that booker interfered against austin. but to have the undisputed champion curtain jerking a show is definitely *not* evidence of him being shoved down our throats.
