Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2006 -I was supposed to go to this show but I had a funeral that I had to attend that I wasn't aware of until this morning. Here are the results... Pre-Show Matches 1) Shane Hagadorn defeats Apocolypse, Bobby Dempsey, and Mitch Franklin in a FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL. Shane Hagadorn gets the win clean over Mitch Franklin. 2) Chad Collyer easily defeats Rhett Titus with the Texas Cloverleaf. Chad earns a potential spot in the ROH Top 5 Rankings with his 2-0 weekend. Todd Sinclair had the assignment. Weekend Of Champions: Night 2 Crowd Estimate: 450-500 BJ Whitmer, Adam Pearce, and Commissioner James E. Cornette are in the ring. Jim Cornette is leaving ROH to recover from upcoming knee surgery. Adam Pearce is the acting ROH Commissioner. 1) Conrad Kennedy III & "Classic" Colt Cabana defeat Irish Airborne of Jake & David Crist. Cabana over Jake Crist. 2) Delirious defeats Chris Sabin via submission. "Really good bout," says JSWO. 3) Six Man Mayhem- Jimmy Jacobs pins Trik Davis after the Contra Code. Match also featured Jay Fury, Flash Flanagan, Spud, and Jimmy Yang. Claudio Castagnoli is in the ring. Samoa Joe is now in the ring to confront the most money making man. 4) Samoa Joe vs Claudio Castagnoli. From what I am getting, this match never had a finish. Nate Webb and The Necro Butcher ran out and began a huge brawl. Samoa Joe sold an injured knee. 5) BJ Whitmer defeats Super Dragon with the Exploder. Finish saw BJ Whitmer hit an Exploder on Super Dragon from the top robe through a table on the outside of the ring. "Incredibly sick finish" from JSWO. 6) "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels defeats Matt Sydal. 7) Title vs Title: ROH Pure Champion Nigel McGuinness defeats ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson via Count Out. Both champions retain their respective titles. NO NEW WORLD CHAMPION. JSWO claims, "before the ROH boards start bitching, the finish was amazing. MOTYC big time." 8) ROH Tag Team Championships: Austin Aries & Roderick Strong defeat Alex Shelley & Jimmy Rave. Generation Next retains the titles. No new champions tonight. keith6601 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2006 Alot of people are expecting a swerve with Pearce in the commish role, but I don't think so. He's really a heel, but he's a roh heel so he's against czw. I can see him lasting in the position through the remainder of the war with czw and continue to be cheered because of what he did during the feud, then when Cornette returns return to his heelish actions by refusing to give up the power or something along those lines. As I posted on the roh board, Lacey should pull the Major League inspiration tactic and have her cardboard standup with her and remove a piece for each Jacobs win. Garth 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2006 Looks like another solid show. I'm interested to see how the finish to Danielson/McGuinness comes off. I love it when Rave/Shelley wrestle as a tag team, they're good news together. It'll be a while before I catch up with this show though. I'm still just finishing up my '04 collection and moving into '05 properly.

I wish I could have attended this show, it sounds like it was better top to bottom then Dayton was. Although, Sydal/Joe Vs Gen Next was pretty crazy and will get alot of hype once the dvd drops. Gen Next is having an insanely good year.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2006 I have just taken advantage of the $10 sale and bought 4 new DVD's. I got both parts of Weekend of Thunder, It All Begins & 3rd Anni Celebration pt 1. I'm still missing like 7 events between Reborn and Final Battle '04 though. I'm just going to move into '05 stuff now I think. I have some '05 stuff already, Manhatten Mayhem, Joe vs Kobashi, Unforgettable & Enter The Dragon. So I'm getting there slowly. It's annoying the hell out of me being so far behind, but I want to watch it all evolve rather than skip straight to present day, as I can never afford to keep up anyways. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2006 I think you can probably skip a few shows at this point, not every show is a must have. Like for instance, you would been better off getting 3YAPart 2 instead of part 1.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2006 Now you tell me! What shows would you say are skipable, other than the obvious BOTSJ? I quite fancied seeing Aries vs Colt in the cage though which is why I picked that one up. I seem to recall hearing good things about it.

Garth 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2006 That'll make my job easier over the upcoming months. I plan to work pretty much full time over the summer. Thats like 4 months to put away a bit of cash to build up the collection a bit. I'm on a bit of an ROH kick at the second, tickets go on sale for the UK shows today. So with any luck I'll have my first live ROH event coming up in August. Huzzah. Shame theres no talent list out yet for these shows. I'm sure they'll be going all out for the UK shows. I could see a re-match of McGuinness/Danielson happening definatly.

I do believe Most of Gen Next(Evans, Sydal and Aries) are working DG that time, which means Strong is likely the lone rep for GN in UK.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2006 I don't mind missing out on some of them as I know Aries has been working and will be working other dates in the UK in the not so distant future for 1PW. I'm quite looking forward to seeing Rodders live though. So long as Shelley, Rave, Danielson and Jacobs also make the trip I'll be pretty happy as I've seen most of the rest of the roster on other shows in the UK before.
