Umm, isn't Joe a little bit hobbled? Should he really be stuck in a Monsters Ball match with a knee injury at a house show?

Great. Fantastic.

I live in Jacksonville Florida, used to be in Bergen County New Jersey.

TNA comes to Jersey 10 days before I go there for the summer, and then goes back down to Florida a week after I land in Jersey.

Fuck.

LIVE RESULTS FROM TONIGHT'S TNA SHOW IN WAYNE, NJ

by Mike Johnson @ 8:20:00 PM on 6/10/2006

We are live at TNA's show in Wayne, NJ.

Petey Williams pinned Shark Boy with the Canadian Destroyer.

In a great match with tons of false finishes, Jerry Lynn pinned Homicide with a cradle piledriver . While on the floor, Lynn hit a running dive into the crowd on Homicide.

In a segment taped for Spike TV, Simon Diamond introduced his new talk segment, "Simon Says". He introduces Jeff Jarrett. Jarrrett said he had an open challenge for tonight saying he'd fight two men or five women or a dozen kids. No one came out. Diamond called Jeremy Borash into the ring to declare Jarrett the King of the Mountain, but Borash instead introduced Jay Lethal as Jarrett's challenger.

Jeff Jarrett pinned Jay Lethal in a good match with the Stroke. Lethal challenged Jarrett to put up his King of the Mountain nickname before the match. Jarrett insulted Lethal's family before the match, which led to a later spot where Lethal's mom grabbed the guitar and chased Diamond.

James Gang defeated Team 3D. Team 3D came out to Highway to Hell, which was their team in ECW in 1995 and 1996. They did a ton of fun stuff in this match playing off the crowd, which is mostly families. Kip pinned Devon after a chairshot when BG attacked Bubba as they were preparing to hit the 3D. James Gang set up a table in the ring after the pin but 3D made a comeback and his the Deadly Death Drop through a table on Kip.

Traci Brooks pinned Gail Kim. In a TNA Knockouts match, . Shark Boy was the special referee. There were fans doing the Bentley Bounce when Brooks came out.

AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels defeated NWA Tag Team champions America's Most Wanted in a non-title match in a double pin situation with the ref ruling Styles and Daniels won. A good match, but not at the level of their last PPV bout. Gail Kim tried to interfere. They two traded mic work afterwards to build their Slammiversary PPV bout.

In the main event, Samoa Joe, Rhino and Abyss brawled through the crowd, including Samoa Joe skateboarding a chair dropkick to Abyss' face while he was against the guard rail. Joe got the biggest pop of the night. Joe was whipped face first into a chair wedged in a corner. Abyss chokeslammed Rhino through two chairs. Abyss went outside to grab tacks but was gored through a table. He went to gore Rhino but was stopped with a kick to the face and choked out.

I'm thinking that last sentence was a typo and it was Rhino who got choked out by Joe.

Her's a live report, from PWI:

NA in Wayne, New Jersey Live Show Thoughts

by from Marc L.

Paterson, NJ

I attended last night's TNA house show in Wayne, NJ (Saturday, June 10, 2006). Overall, it was a very good show with numerous entertaining moments and a very enthusiastic crowd. The show was held at the town's Police Athletic League (PAL) center, so it was a typical "gymnasium show" setup,

with many chairs surrounding the ring, close and far bleachers, benches in back of the chairs, and lots of open space to stand and walk. In humorous contrast to the night's wrestling mayhem was a large room adjacent to where the matches were being held, which contained elderly people quietly playing bingo.

There was a large souvenir area where they were selling tons of TNA stuff (I bought a quality TNA black baseball cap) as well as the usual DVD's, action figures, wrestling masks, photos, etc. What I found somewhat surprising was the fact that there were all manner of WWE DVD's and action figures being sold, being that this was a TNA house show. I guess this was because the show was actually promoted by a local group known as UWF Entertainment, so they were probably the ones who brought in the vendors. One big bonus (no pun intended) was the smoking hot blond woman working the souvenir stand for much of the evening. There were actually a fairly high number of females at the event, given that it was a pro wrestling event on a Saturday night. It was still a relative sausage fest, but there were more women than I thought there would be.

The raucous and heterogeneous crowd (little boys and girls, teenagers, adult men and women, citizens in wheelchairs, some older people) seemed to fire up the workers and inspire them to perform at a high level. There was a lot of verbal and emotional interaction between the wrestlers and the fans which helped make for an entertaining evening and some spontaneous and entertaining mic work. Jeremy Borash did all the announcing and did a good job at keeping the crowd engaged and enthusiastic; as expected, he was shilling the upcoming (Sunday, June 18) Slammiversary PPV to the hilt.

Also, referee Earl Hebner did some work tonight and, of course, was the recipient of "You Screwed Bret" chants. In a humorous twist, Earl reveled in the chants, egging on the crowd and even jumping onto a turnbuckle to face and encourage his most vocal hecklers.

Match 1 - Petey Williams vs. Shark Boy:

Both wrestlers were over with the crowd in a big way, and Shark Boy is indeed a cult favorite. This was a very entertaining and well-executed opening match that saw a lot of high-flying action. The fans were behind both wrestlers, doing the alternate name-chanting deal. The crowd popped

HUGE for Petey Williams's amazing Canadian Destroyer finisher, which won the match. On a side note, Shark Boy was signing autographs and posing for pictures during the intermission later in the night; the kids really seemed to be into him. In person, Shark Boy looks relatively small and thin,

compared with some of the other wrestlers (such as Rhino) that look massive in person.

Match 2 - Homicide vs. Jerry Lynn:

This was one of the best matches of the night, in my opinion. Homicide seemed to be the crowd favorite going in (since he has done numerous local ROH and NJ indy shows), but Jerry Lynn really won the crowd over with his excellent performance. TNA really needs to do more with Lynn and not miss the boat with him, as WWE so unfortunately did.

Simon Diamond "Simon Says" segment with guest Jeff Jarrett:

This was fairly entertaining, but Diamond needs to sharpen his mic skills before going "live" on Impact with this "talk show." The crowd seemed to be crapping on him at points, and he was lacking in snappy comebacks. Simon was the recipient of "ECW" chants, as well. Also, wearing a somewhat Ric Flair-esque robe to the ring certainly didn't help his cause. When Jarrett came out, the crowd was ALL OVER HIM and seemed to genuinely hate this man. "F**K YOU JARRETT!!" chants rang out loud and proud throughout the Wayne PAL center, the only time throughout the evening that any of the participants were honored with this particular chant.

Match 3 - Jeff Jarrett's "Open Challenge" match vs. Jay Lethal:

Lethal accepted Jarrett's open challenge (which I predicted, since Lethal is a local NJ guy hailing from Elizabeth) and persuaded Jarrett to put his "King of the Mountain" title on the line for this match. Jarrett taunted Jay Lethal's mother (Lethal's family was in attendance) before, during, and

after their match, prompting her to go after Simon Diamond with Jarrett's guitar at one point. At least she didn't have a heart attack outside the ring like Mama Benjamin. This was a good match with both performers working well. Lethal shows tons of potential as a wrestler and is good at getting the crowd into the match with his ring skills. Jarrett did the Flair strut during the match, as did Lethal in retaliation, and the crowd didn't like either of them doing it.

Match 4 - James Gang (BG James and Kip "Failed WWE Pushes" James) vs. Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon, the artists formerly known as the Dudley Boys):

This was a decent match and fun for a lot of the people there (especially the kids), but I had a hard time getting into this one. "ECW" chants rained down upon Team 3D, and I was actually surprised that they did not cut some sort of anti-ECW (WWE version) promo. However, BG James did take the opportunity to cut a promo running down WWE's upcoming new DX, saying that it will not work, especially without them (gee, I wonder how Jeff Jarrett feels about BG and Kip continuously talking as if they would much rather be in WWE than TNA and are pissed off because they are not). It actually seemed like the crowd was less into this match than some others, which I found a bit surprising. None of these guys performed as well in the ring as some others on the card, so I think the crowd perceived that and reacted accordingly. But maybe the crowd was more into it than I was willing to see. To me, the match seemed to drag at times, and I am such a Kip James

non-fan that this may have biased my perception of the match. All that being said, I still don't think it was a great match by any means and seemed to go on forever. I went out to the concession stand after this match ended and caught the tail end of Devon presenting a little kid with a piece of a broken table, which he was thrilled to get.

Intermission:

This PAL has a very good concession stand. The food is greasy good and very tasty - relatively cheap, as well. They make a variety of food items quickly and with a smile. I had a cheeseburger platter (awesome fries), as well as a quality Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. The souvenir stand was jumping - I almost bought a Masked Superstar mask but opted for a nice TNA hat instead.

Match 5 - Gail Kim vs. Traci in a "TNA Knockouts" match:

This was a good match for what it was, especially compared to the usually horrible "Divas" matches in WWE (I still get pissed off thinking about how Stacy Keibler, even though she is hot and a nice person, would regularly be called a "wrestler" on "Dancing with the Stars" and on talk shows). Both

women were sporting some impressive cleavage, and Traci is a better worker than I expected. Shark Boy was great as the special referee. He actually groped Gail's boobs during the match (TWICE!!) and was slapped by both women for his general perversity.

Match 6 - AMW vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels in a non-title match:

I thought this was a good to very good match, but not great. I really like AJ Styles as a worker, so it is hard for me not to enjoy a match in which he is involved. Both Harris and Storm are quite large in person. The crowd was continuously haranguing Harris and Storm for being "Brokeback Cowboys," and of course they did the accidental "gay" spots for the crowd's benefit. Styles and Daniels did a double-spanking on Gail Kim after she tried to interfere, which was great (getting to BUTT-spank a hot Asian woman while being cheered on by a gym full of people: one of the hundred reasons to BE a pro wrestler). The double pin was a cool finish, and I was surprised to see Styles and Daniels get the win, especially because I did not know the match was non-title until the end. After the match, Styles and Daniels promised to dethrone the champs at Slammiversary, while Harris and Storm vowed that Slammiversary would be their last shot at the belts, and an unsuccessful one

at that.

Match 7 (Main Event of the Evening) - Samoa Joe, Rhino, and Abyss in a no-holds-barred Monster's Ball Match:

This was a solid match that was entertaining to watch (or not watch, depending on your vantage point - there were a lot of "I can't see sh**" chants during this one, as their brawling caravan went all around the outside of the ring and into the bleachers). I felt that it got a little cluster-esque at times, but the three participants always seemed to pull the match back to an entertaining place. The crowd was way into Samoa Joe, and all three guys were over with the fans. Of course, Rhino wasN bombarded with ECW chants. I thought the brawling into the stands was entertaining, and Samoa Joe ate six hot dogs that some fan gave him while Rhino and Abyss hit each other (only kidding). Rhino gored Abyss through a table in the corner of the ring, which was cool (Rhino looks massively wide and thickly built in person, by the way); the end came when Samoa Joe kicked Rhino in the head when he tried to gore Joe after fighting out of Joe's first chokeout attempt, and then Joe caught Rhino again and choked him out for the win. I must say, with the recent high profile losses by Rhino, I am thinking more and more that he will likely be heading to WWE's ECW soon. There were a

smattering of some "overrated" chants in this match, which I think were directed at Samoa Joe.

After the show ended, fans gathered against the guardrail outside the ring waiting for wrestlers to come out and sign autographs. As the ring was being dissembled (which was a cool process to watch), Jeremy Borash walked around the outside of the ring and spoke with fans, signing autographs. I shook hands with him and said good job on Spike TV, which he appreciated.

He seemed like a nice guy. I left after that and exchanged a quick few words with Christopher Daniels on the way out, who was signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans at the back souvenir stand. I asked him if he would be working any more Ring of Honor shows in NJ, and he said that he would like to but just does not know when the shows will be.

All in all, this was a very entertaining evening of good wrestling action. TNA needs to do more house shows around the country so fans can have another solid live alternative to WWE.

Sounds like a good show and im glad to see there doing something with Simond Diamond. Giving him his own talk show, although a bit of a rip off of WWE, is a great idea.
