Everyone says they wouldn't watch the NBA finals if it was Detroit/SA. Well I honestly would not watch if it were Dallas/Miami. Detroit or Phoenix has to be there for me to care.

That puts you firmly in the vast minority.

What I want to know is where did people get this notion that the Heat are a fun team to watch. Other than Wade they are just as "boring" as the Spurs and Pistons.

 

And other than LeBron and Kobe there's no reason to watch the Cavs and Lakers respectively. Wade is only one of the most exciting players of the last couple of decades to watch. The Big Fundamental and his merry band of Spurs are not interesting to watch unless you're from San Antonio, neither are the Pistons when they can't hit more than 35% of their shots and sludge their way to a 74-71 finish.

 

Not from Texas or Michigan at all but like I said above. I'd rather watch SA or Detroit rather than Dallas, Miami, Cleveland, LA, or any other team save the Suns or my Celtics. So you're wrong about the anyone outside of SA or Detroit.

According to foxsports.com Gilbert Arenas and Awvee Storey were arrested Saturday Night on South Beach for disobeying police.

 

As Arenas was being arrested, according to reports, he said, "You can't arrest me. I'm a basketball player. I play for the Washington Wizards, and I'm not going to leave my teammate."

Bullshit. I've never had anything bad to say about Detroit except that they don't play a brand of basketball that I like to watch. San Antonio is just a team full of whiny bitches. I don't mind watching either team play ANYONE ELSE, just not each other. If not wanting to watch two teams I don't care for makes me someone who doesn't like the sport, so fucking be it. I'm also not going to watch a Kansas City/Washington World Series, an Arizona/Houston Super Bowl (not that either would happen) etc because I don't care one way or the other who wins or loses. If I don't care who wins or loses, there's no point in wasting time watching.

I just don't like the Heat all that much. Everyone on the Heat minus Wade and sometimes Shaq rub me the wrong way. I feel a bit weird cheering against the hometown team, especially considering how fun the city gets when the Heat are in the playoffs and doing well (not to mention the endless partying that will ensue if the Heat win a championship) but I guess, for personal reasons, I'd hate to see Shaq get another ring on a team that's not the Lakers.

 

So, what the hell is wrong with the Pistons? Is it Pat Riley playing Hack-a-Ben, or did Detroit all of a sudden lose their ability to guard a fucking thing inside the paint? I'm surprised they've looked so vulnerable and ordinary these last two rounds in the postseason. They looked like the team playing on another level, whereas the Heat got their shit together after they beat the Bulls. I'm kind of wondering whether or not Detroit will be able to win another game at this point, actually.. and if they do, I'm thinking one win at the Palace and they're done when they come back down here.

 

Oh, and Flip Saunders has to be the worst coach remaining in the playoffs at this point. This postseason is eerily similar to 2004's.

The Suns are playing fantastic defense so far. Forcing 24-seconds violations, blocking shots, steals, and straight up defensive stops. Very strange, but satisfying, to see.

I wish Dirk would take over the game a little more. He's been passing up way too many good looks from three. Still though, the Mavs have been playing quite a bit better in the second half. I like their chances if they keep this up.

Sorry, but I have to: I can't stand the guy... I think that Avery Johnson is a great coach (I wish that we could have got him), and I actually think that the Mavericks are the most-deserving team of the teams remaining, in terms of who's been together longest and who's paid the most dues in the playoffs, but my contempt for Cuban is such that I can't abide by anything that involves him succeeding.

I don't know if I can keep watching these playoffs. The teams I want to win play well then they just seem to play with no brains and the officiating is so irritating and I definitely won't watch the finals if it doesn't involve Phoenix or Detroit and right now that's not looking likely.
