Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 Damaramu is pretty adamant about this despite never having tried it. I hope an innocent bystander never comes across him while he's posting and gets hit with angry midwestern white guy rage.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 The main selling point of the Wii is the innovation of the controller. What's the point of wanting one if you don't want the main reason to buy the system? Games......what should be the main selling point of any system.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 I think the fact that the Wii is really nothing like a big all-in-one box with computer guts seemingly designed to push a proprietary format (Blu Ray) shows that Nintendo's focus is still on the games. All the control scheme does is offer a new way to play those games and while it's been the main selling point of the Wii thus far, it is rightfully so. Besides it's not like the games or at least those we've seen so far will rely exclusively on tilting the remote and what have you. Moving and activating other elements will still require button presses in most cases. So what if someone has to slash or shoot with the remote every now and then. Thinking about it is it really any different from the motions most of us make when heavily getting into a game? God, the above reeks of fanboyism. Still, you may as well give up on it now if you loathe the idea that much. A majority of Nintendo's games will probably adopt the scheme, first and third party alike and there's no telling if alternative layouts will be available. Scroby 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 What do you mean what's the point? I want a fucking video game system that I sit there and play with a controller. Not a computer that takes me across the globe at high speeds that forces me to pretend I'm shooting an arrow or swinging a sword or whatever. I want to use the god damn controllers like I've always used them. If the Wii forces you to use the dumbass features and doesn't have an option where you can just sit there and use it as a controller then I don't want one. Damaramu fears change. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 I know Smash Bros Brawl will have traditional gameplay, supporting the GC controller and the classic-style controller. I'll admit that I'm curious whether other games will do that as well. For example, it would be extremely easy to do so with Twiilight Princess because they already have that scheme setup for the GC version.

So will the GC version of Twilight Princess suck or be basically the same?

It's unknown if there will be any added dungeons or other bonuses added to the wii version, or whether it supports the GC controller. It should be in the new EGM, but I haven't seen it out yet. I don't know about you guys, but if I had bought the Gamecube verison of Zelda and found out that the Wii verison is a bigger/longer game with more stuff added on, I'd be pist off. I don't think Nintendo would do that, not only would it upset their fans but they could loose sales on the GC verison just because fans would want the Wii verison. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 I suspect it is the same game other than the controls. The GC version is just nintendo fulfilling their promise to deliver a GC version.

It should be in the new EGM, but I haven't seen it out yet. I don't see anything. Miyamoto says that both versions will be the same content-wise (same dungeons, same enemies), but the Wii version will have better graphics and a few more minor bells and whistles. There won't be any online play, that's for sure. I'm guessing they're banking on people buying the Wii version because they want to play it in a different way with the Wiimote. luke-o 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 My place of work took pre-orders. We took 15 in the first week then we had to stop as we had taken too many nationwide. We now just add people to the wating list. But since sony whacked an extra 80 quid to the UK release, 4 people came in and cancelled their pre-order. And apperantly us UK'ers are only getting the 60gb version.
