Guest snowfan Report post Posted June 7, 2002 I used to be a naysayer. I mocked people who said HGH would win the Rumble. "He is too slow and they have too much momentum with other wrestlers right now," I said. HGH made a believer out of me. Why in the "f" did he need to win the Rumble? Did he need elevation, or to "please his fans"? Nope. He injected himself into the title picture and kill Jericho and Angle. Selfish booking. HGH=the new Dusty Rhodes Here's a completely off-the-wall idea nobody's thought of yet: Maybe, just MAYBE they WANTED to push him? He won the Rumble because he was the freshest face at the time and since the Rumble winner automatically gets a WM title shot, then there should have been on doubt as to WHO was winning it. It's been like that for the last 4 years with the exception of Vince's bullshit win at RR 99. And, he didn't "inject himself" into the title picture, he was the only fresh face because Rock had already spent 3 months jobbing to Jericho so that feud was PLAYED, Austin was losing at No Way Out anyway, and Angle was a heel, so what the hell did you expect? Heel/heel main events don't draw, PERIOD. THAT'S why Angle only had one title shot despite putting on the best matches leading up to WM. Is it REALLY that hard to see the logic behind what happened 3 to 5 months ago? Ah good. You hit the nail on the head. "They" wanted to push him. Who are "they"? Why one of "they" happens to be his playpit. I am starting to wonder if maybe Team Titan is enjoying the downward spiral of their ratings as one of the definitions of insanity is "doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results". There were several other faces that could have been pushed in HGH's stead but we got treated to Mr um uh Intense. RVD could have been in that spot.(and I am no RVD mark) The fact is that Team Titan expects us fans to lap up their constant circle jerk involving Austin, Rocky, HGH, and *yee haw* BikerTaker with any other wrestler just there as window dressing.(see Angle, K and Jericho, C) HGH is part of the problem not part of the solution. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 7, 2002 Sigh.... The buck starts and stops with Vince McMahon, Jr. and no one else. You can scream about Stephanie all you want, but it's Vince who decides what airs and what doesn't. Vince is the end-all/be-all of the WWE, so like I said before, if you want to blame anybody, blame him because he allows it and/or approves it. HHH is just another product of the system. I agree it is Vince's fault. Cliqueitis has returned in a new form. Hooray for we the screwed fans....
Guest Report post Posted June 7, 2002 They should have done the double turn at WM.... HHH wins the title when stephanie reveals that she had been working with her husband all along to get even with Jericho for calling her a filty, dirty, no good, bottom feeding, brutal trashbag ho all those times... thus letting the canadian fans at least go home happily knowing Jericho is a good guy again... then at least the HIAC would have had some heat to it when it happened. I dunno, i guess i'm just a stupid fan and vince knows what I want better than I do. All I know is, I went from watching and never missing RAW, Smackdown, and Heat, and every PPV to usually watching the last half hour of RAW, and watching the occasional match on SmackDown, and thats it. Same here. I know Vince is satisfying fans somewhere but not in my house and not in my friends houses either. It is all about egos now. Vince, Steph, and HGH need to stop blowing themselves on WWE time and buy advertising if that is their kicks.
Guest Report post Posted June 7, 2002 You know what would be funny? If the smark "God" Paul Heyman was behind the HHH push, the Test push, etc. I would laugh, oh how I would laugh.

Guy it would be funny. I am not a Heyman fan at all. I enjoy "wrestling", and oddly I remember there once being more of it and the quality of matches one had and heat generated thereby leading to "pushes".(see Michaels, S and Hart, B) Three moves and a catchphrase will kill pro-wrestling. Same here. *sighs* Shame, shame... I think what Vince is forgetting is that his peaks are due to people watching because it is a fad. The fans that are his loyal base don't enjoy the 20 minute opening promos and want to see *gasp* wrestling. Outlandish concept to Team Titan I am sure. The peak is over Vince...put down the bong and book accordingly....

Exactly.... That's probably a BIG reason why the ratings were up for Raw this week. Not any damn HBK (no diss to him) because honestly NO ONE knew he was going to be there. It was because of Eddie-RVD last week busting their asses off. Example: Friend 1: Hey, dude... did you see that AWESOME ladder match between RVD and Eddie, last night? It was like a match that should be been a main-event at a per-pay-view or something. Friend 2: Really... it was that good? Damn. I really haven't been watching the WWE lately... the product really been sucking. BUT, I'll check out Raw next week to see if they keep up their *good* wrestling trend. ---- Instead they get Austin 'pissing' on Arn... oh good job WWE. I had that conversation with a guy I work with... he watched because I told him about the ladder match and how they seem to be getting better again. So he watched monday night. Tuesday morning he says to me "So, I watched Raw last night for the first time in a while. now I remember why I stopped watching wrestling in the first place"
