Wow, promoage that I enjoyed!  Would have liked to see X win one... but that would mean going against Fallout.  Can't do that, nuh-uh.

 

Durandal... my chosen... now they will understand what Rampancy means.  HAHAHAHAHAHH!  Good try, Annie and Xero.

 

Ash cuts a promo!  And then Stryke wins!  Wouldn't it be funny if it was the other way around?

 

I have the idea: Loser uses Wesley Willis as theme music match.

 

And whose match was that?  Wilson's or Mag's?  I enjoyed it thoroughly.

 

And you know it's an Edwin promo when he uses words just like the Ultimate Warrior.

Yay at being a 2-time Hardcore champ. Didn't think i'd beat Ash, but i guess i put something together good enough to win the title.

 

Fallout wins with a very nice opener, short but sweet, and his Clan stablemate Durandal continues to tear it up, topping Xero and Annie to become the new US champ. A very good match, and with the way he's writing he may have that belt for a long time.

 

And my associate Chris Wilson continues his good form since returning, pulling out a high quality match and topping ELM, no mean feat.

 

And with the addition of some nice promos from Wilson, Edwin X and others, and this makes for quite a good show. Of course any show where i win a title is always good.

One nice thing about 4 match shows--they're easy to read!

 

Fallout writes a nice, if short match, with an interesting finish, and some nice speculation with Wilson, whatever he's up to this time.  I'll tell you, no one can pack more into a small word count than Fallout.  Totally concise and clear.

 

That US Title match was DA BOOOOOOOOMB.  Way to put everyone ever and get the win with some tasty black mist.  Oh, and Durandal?  THAT LAST LITTLE SPEECH WAS PERFECT, OH MY GOOOOOD IT WAS PERFECT.  The whole, "I beat you, Annie.  I'm better than you."  It's so, so, so good.  STICK WITH THAT CHARACTER APPROACH.  Durandal as a lethal Clan guy, but getting back some of his haughty "Superior" arrogance is a truly unique and wicked character.  The robed sadist with a smirk is VERY, VERY, VERY COOL.

 

Ahem, sorry about that.  I just really, really, REALLY liked that little bit.

 

Moving on, X has a witty and interesting promo, and Ash has a nice attitude about the hardcore way...

 

...which kind of loses steam when Stryke beats him in the next match.  Come on guys, Ash, Stryke, and Durandal, three-way feud...you know you want it.  Hardcore/ladder match or something.  Doooo it.  Dooooooo it.  Swank stuff from Stryke there, who innovates and does hardcore very simply, but very well.

 

Backstage promo, full of funny words: nothing like getting Raynor face time and kicking my own ass at solitaire.  Booyaka.

 

And the main event: I have to say, Wilson is looking a lot less rusty than I had thought he might be.  2 matches, 2 impressive wins, and he's already re-solidifying himself as a definite potential upper-card player.  Cool neck psychology, made Magnifico look good, and a Gansobuster?  That's something I've never seen before, and I loved it.  Little nibbles of creativity, and the great false finish of having Magnifico kick out of the Platinum Nightmare only to get brought down with what is essentially its submission variant was quite well done.

 

All in all, a good show--one promo segment for every match on the card is a pretty solid ratio.  No huge surprises or fully established angles, but quality matches, suggestions, and those couple promos helped it stand out from other short shows.

That was a nice Smarkdown. Fallout nabs the win, and Durnal takes the gold! Superior one gimmick foreshadowing, yah! Also Stryke beats Ash in a cool match. Then the main event Chris goes agaisnt all my doubts of ring rust reminding me that he still rules.

That was a decent Smarkdown.  Short match from Fallout, which makes me wonder if X wrote.  If he didn't...tsk, tsk...2 no shows in a row?  Sigh...nothing away from Fallout...that match was just rather short.

 

Good one from Durandal...I have to be honest and say that I didn't really like the black mist before, but I'm starting to like it now.  I think you work it well into matches, and it's starting to become your thing.  Dammit, I just realized that I called you that "name" for the first time Flesher...dammit to hell.

 

Mark out moment of the night...

 

Ash Ketchum's Promo!  That was sensational man.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Too bad Stryke won the match (in impressive fashion, I might add), but that promo kicked major BUTT.  It reminded me of one of those mid-card promos from Raw or Smackdown where you start out wondering why in the hell is this person getting face time, but then you end up enjoying it and kicking yourself for doubting that person.  Prime example, the whole Booker T/Goldust thing.  Anyway, I give that promo the HVT A+ Signature of Approval.  Best promo of the night.

 

X's promo was good too, as was Edwin's.  Wilson's was typical of the cocky bastard.  I like where things are headed with these three.  I hope things start falling into place soon, but I like what's happening.  It's still weird to have this main event angles, and not know what's gonna happen.  It's the first time in a long time that I don't know what's gonna happen.  Damn retirement...maybe I should no sell my broken neck and come back...?

 

The main event...I enjoyed reading both matches, and Wilson won by a hair.  I will say that I didn't really like either person's ending...it just seemed rather anti-climactic.  Also, I don't think Wilson's ending put ELM over as much as I would have liked to see, with having him tap out like that.  I think that's just a personal thing that I have with submission finishers.  In high-calibur matches, I don't really like submission wins unless they've been through hell and back and the submission move comes out of no where.  However, I really enjoyed the chain wrestling (well maybe not chain but fast-paced) at the beginning.  And there were some very nice spots in there.

 

All in all, a decent show...as best can be expected for Smarkdown.

Do you see how much more fun shows are when peoples promo?  And in the case of tonight, it was only three peoples, with those three peoples being Ash, Edwin and X.  All good promos, and Ash can get involved with the US or HGC any time he pleases with promos.  Woo hoo.

 

I just realized what a fixture on the show I was.  Well woo hoo for me.  Stupid Carnie and dreadlocked bastards hot-shotting...

 

Thugg, thanks for telling Stubby my monitor was down!  Loser!  =)  Now I'm running behind on my tag title shot, but at least I'm up and running.  I'd like to see Mag's match if that's possible, and Thugg, normal people do sometimes have to submit.  I know its hard for you to comprehend that Mr. Vitality O' 26.  Loser!

 

Big props to Fleshandal and mi amigo Stryke for their wins.  Fresh young blood with the championships is always good.  They don't get complacent.  Plus, with Annie and Ash gunning in there, I'll see Edwin's idea of a three-way feud and raise it to a four-corners!  Get crazy with it.  Cage/ladder match: First one out of the cage is US champion, first one to score a pinfall gets an ICTV shot and the HGC will be at the top of the ladder.  Oh goodnes...carnage abound....

Oh well, I didn't win. But then again, there's always that rematch...

 

I really enjoyed writing that promo because it was almost something I might do in real life. Kinda exposing the "secrets"/making fun of the WWE's fake weaponry (cinder blocks that turn into MAGICAL FAIRY DUST... blech).

 

Excellent matches all around.

My match won!?  A match that was hastily thrown together and didn't come remotely close to reaching the word limit won?  X definitely no-showed this one.  Either that or he had less time to write than I did.

With the final commercial finished, Smarkdown fades back in with a shot of the capacity crowd, waiting excitedly for tonight’s main event. Suddenly, the crowd’s energy is channeled into booing as a woman’s voice comes over the loudspeakers, followed by the beginning of “Summer in the City” by the St. Lunatics.

 

"Ah....Ah.ah.....ah....ah.ah...ah..."  

 

"I am the king of this city, top down, windows down, puffing like diddy...."

 

The lights kick out and a thick layer of fog floats over the arena as the crowd’s booing grows louder and louder. Chris Wilson steps out onto the ramp, Ruby Juliet Oakleys blazing as he scans the crowd, soaking in the raw emotion. He begins to walk down the ramp, black trench coat swirling around him as he does….

 

Funyon: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Miami, Florida, weighing in at 273 pounds...Chrrris Willlllllson!

 

Wilson reaches the ring and walks up the steps, pauses to take a look at the crowd, then steps through the middle rope. He puts his Oakleys and gloves into his trench coat and takes it off, handing it to the referee while being sure not to make eye contact with him.. He then bounces off the ropes once and turns towards the stage, waiting for his opponent.

 

Mark: And welcome back to SWF Smarkdown! We’ve witnessed a terrific night of competition so far, and it’s only going to get better as we move onto our main event, Chris Wilson vs. El Luchadore Magnifico!

 

Bobby: Finally, Wilson will get his hands on Magnifico, a man who did him wrong not once, but twice! Magnifico, who was a subordinate to Wilson in the IGNWO, had the audacity to end Wilson’s World Title reign at Genesis II, doing so by driving Mexican Flags through his hands and pinning him to the mat! And if that weren’t enough, ELM left the IGNWO after Wilson had left the federation, effectively killing Chris’ stable when he went to the Carnival!

 

Wilson, not moving an inch from his position, is unfazed when a Mexican voice suddenly comes over the loudspeakers and shouts, “UNO! DOS! TRES! CUATRO!” with a burst of pyro from each turnbuckle accompanying each shouted number. The crowd bursts into cheers as the chorus of “Mission Trip to Mexico” hits the speakers, and only grows louder when El Luchadore Magnifico bursts out from behind the curtain, waving his Mexican flag with one hand and holding his LHW Title with the other. The grinning luchadore pauses on the ramp for a second and holds his arms high in the air, creating a primo photo opportunity while a look of disgust crosses Wilson’s face.

 

Funyon: And now, from Mexico City, Mexico, weighing in at 190 pounds, he is the SWF Light Heavyweight Champion...El Luchadooooooorre Magnificooooooo!!

 

Upon hearing his name, Magnifico quickly heads down the ramp, slapping fans’ hands as he goes. He reaches the ring and slides beneath the bottom rope, where he drops his flag, pops to his feet, and hops onto the nearby second turnbuckle. Wilson eyes the tip of the flag cautiously as ELM thrusts the LHW title into the air repeatedly, squeezing a little more heat from the crowd before hopping down to the mat. Magnifico picks up his Mexican flag, hands it and the title to the ref, and then turns to Wilson, who hasn’t taken his eyes off of Magnifico for a second. Seeing that everything is in order, the ref signals for the bell.

 

DING DING DING

 

Mark: The history between these two alone is sure to make this a great matchup. However, Magnifico might have a sizable advantage in that Wilson has been out of competition for a while.

 

Bobby: In my eyes, that makes things about even. Maybe Wilson’s technical skills have been degraded a bit in his time off, but they were so superior to Magnifico’s in the first place that he probably still outclasses the luchadore!

 

Magnifico and Wilson continue the glaring game a for a few seconds, until they begin circling each other around the ring, coming closer and closer to each other until the luchadore lunges out for a lockup. Chris suddenly steps backwards, avoiding Magnifico and drawing a wave of boos from the crowd. ELM looks at Wilson with a look of disbelief, then suddenly rushes towards Chris at full speed! Wilson takes a step backwards into the corner before ELM can reach him, and gets the ref to keep Magnifico away from him as he lands up against the corner. Mag struggles with the ref momentarily, until Wilson practically shoves the ref out of the way and claws ELM in the face, pissing off the crowd even more. While Magnifico clutches his face, Chris grabs him by the hair and shoulders, turns towards the corner, and suddenly uses his grip to throw ELM forward, sending him shoulder-first into the turnbuckle! A few OHHH!s come from the fans as Magnifico grabs his shoulder and turns back towards Wilson, who snatches the luchadore’s arm and whips him hard towards the opposite corner. Magnifico hits the turnbuckles with incredible impact and stumbles out of the corner, cueing Wilson to charge across the ring and lash out with his arm, driving it into ELM’s chest and driving him to ground with a stiff clothesline! Not letting up for a second, Wilson begins stomping away at the shoulder that went into the turnbuckle, while Magnifico struggles to get to his feet, slowed down by the stomps. Once ELM does get to his feet, Wilson grabs him by the arm and whips him towards the ropes. Magnifico bounces off of the ropes and rushes back towards Chris, and as he approaches, Wilson leaps into the air and thrusts out his knee, looking to connect with his “Rim Rocka” Flying Knee! However, Magnifico manages to roll beneath Wilson’s protruding knee, popping to his feet behind Chris as he lands on the mat. Wilson turns to face the luchadore, and Magnifico greets him by drawing his arm back and suddenly driving it forward, slamming it into Chris’ chest with a Knife-Edge Chop! The SMACK! from the chop and the WHOOO! from the crowd merge together in a weird way as Wilson turns and stumbles away from Magnifico, clutching his chest in pain.

 

Mark: Beautiful Knife-Edge Chops from Magnifico. It can definitely by surprising to see a luchadore unload such powerful chops.

 

Bobby: Hah, powerful? Quit kissing Carnie ass and open your eyes to the fact that those chops may sound good, but there is simply no power behind them.

 

Chris stumbles into the ropes and turns back towards Magnifico. ELM reaches out as if to grab his opponent, but suddenly gets kicked in the gut by Wilson, stopping him in his tracks and doubling him over slightly. Chris takes a step off of the ropes and thrusts his fist into Magnifico’s chin with a stiff Uppercut, snapping him into standing up straight. Wilson continues the assault, backing ELM across the ring with a series of stiff jabs to the face. After striking Magnifico a good ten times, Wilson grabs him by the arm and whips him towards the far corner. Once ELM lands against the turnbuckles, Chris runs after him, charging across the ring with his body aimed right at Magnifico! But before Chris can make impact, Magnifico suddenly throws his foot into the air, which Wilson inadvertently runs right into! Chris grabs his chin and takes a few steps backwards, giving Magnifico the chance to hop up onto the second turnbuckle. Once Wilson shakes off the boot to the face, ELM suddenly leaps off of the turnbuckle, kicking out his feet for a Missile Dropkick! Magnifico’s feet are driven straight into Chris’s chest, knocking him to the ground as the luchadore falls to the mat. As soon as he lands, ELM throws himself onto Wilson, hooking the leg as the ref slides into position and begins the count...

 

ONE...

 

TWO-No! Wilson kicks out right after two and quickly pops back to his feet, looking considerably annoyed with the luchadore. Magnifico gets to his feet a split-second after Wilson, but that mere split second gives Chris the opportunity to drive his knee straight into ELM’s gut, immediately doubling him over! With Magnifico doubled over, Wilson quickly captures him in a Suplex position. He holds it for a second, then suddenly falls backwards to the mat, slamming Magnifico into the canvas with a Snap Suplex! ELM arches his back as the sound of the impact echoes throughout the arena.

 

Mark: Magnifico connects with the Missile Dropkick, but is quickly paid back in turn with a stiff Snap Suplex from Wilson!

 

Bobby: ELM made a big mistake by going for the cover. If he’s to have any chance of defeating Wilson, his assault has to be nonstop!

 

Chris quickly gets back to his feet, while Magnifico, keeping one hand on his back, pushes himself up to one knee. Wilson steps behind the luchadore, draws his leg back, then suddenly drives it forward, slamming it straight into ELM’s neck with a viscous kick! The crowd OHHH!s sympathetically as Magnifico falls back to the mat, cradling his neck in pain while Wilson chuckles to himself. Chris delivers a few stomps to the back of the luchadore’s neck before reaching down, grabbing him by the hair, and slowly pulling Magnifico to his feet. Maintaining his grip, Wilson drags Magnifico over to the nearby corner, before thrusting the luchadore’s head forward and slamming it directly into the top turnbuckle! However, Wilson still doesn’t let go, instead pulling ELM away from the corner and placing his neck on the middle rope. With Magnifico dazed, Chris rushes towards the ropes opposite his opponent, bounces off, and rushes back towards the luchadore. As he approaches, Wilson leaps into the air, landing directly on the back of Magnifico head and driving his neck into the middle rope! ELM suddenly falls backwards to the mat, holding his throat in pain and gasping for breath. Wilson, looking very satisfied with himself, revels in the booing of the crowd for a few seconds before placing his foot on Magnifico’s throat. Chris pauses for a moment, then begins pushing down with his foot, cutting off all of the luchadore’s breath and causing him to go into a seizure-like state, as he kicks his legs desperately while he gasps for air! After three seconds, the ref forces Wilson to release his foot, which he willing does as the crowd boos him passionately.

 

Mark: It looks like Wilson has begun working on Magnifico’s neck, maybe to soften him up for a future finishing move.

 

Bobby: C’mon! He’s obviously gonna use the Jumping Piledriver later to finish Magnifico off!

 

Mark: Well, what about the Finishing Touches? Wilson’s submission finisher that focuses on the neck?

 

The ref gets all up in Wilson’s face, warning him about disqualifications and such as Magnifico begins pushing himself to his feet, still gasping for breath. Wilson, amused, looks at the ref for a second, then pushes him right out of the way and walks towards Magnifico, who is on one knee. Chris reaches out, grabs Magnifico by the arm, and slowly pulls him to his feet, then uses his grip to whip ELM towards the far ropes. Magnifico bounces off of the ropes and rushes back towards Wilson, and as he approaches, Chris kicks him stiffly in the gut, doubling the luchadore over in the center of the ring. This gives Wilson the opportunity to apply a Standing Head-Scissors and then grab ELM around the waist, completing the set-up for the Jumping Piledriver to massive boos from the crowd! A smirk comes over Wilson’s face as he holds Magnifico in that position, but it quickly disappears as ELM grabs him by the legs and suddenly stands up, throwing Chris into the air with a Back Body Drop! A rousing cheer rises from the crowd as Wilson lands flat on his back right in front of the ropes, absorbing the impact for a split second before scrambling back to his feet! Magnifico is ready for him, however, and as soon as Wilson stands, he sidesteps towards him and throws his foot into the air, slamming it into Chris’ chin with a Superkick! Chris, who was right in front of the ropes, is driven back enough by the impact of the kicks to send him tumbling over the top rope and to the outside! The crowd grows even louder as Wilson awkwardly crashes to the floor, while Magnifico falls to one knee inside the ring, holding the back of his neck in pain.

 

Mark: You might have been right about the Piledriver, Bobby, but Wilson used it too early! Magnifico was able to reverse it and send Chris tumbling to the outside!

 

After a second of rest, Magnifico lays down on the mat and rolls out of the ring, stepping onto the floor as Wilson begins pushing himself to his feet. ELM walks over to Wilson and delivers a few kicks to his kidneys, then grabs him by the arm as he stands up. Using his grip, Magnifico attempts a whip, but Wilson reverses it, sending ELM towards the steel steps! As Magnifico approaches the steps, he suddenly jumps into the air, leaping over the steps and landing on the other side! Annoyed, Chris rushes towards the luchadore. When Magnifico turns towards Wilson and sees him bearing down on him, ELM suddenly hops into the air and kicks out his feet, slamming them into the steel steps! The impact slides the steps towards Wilson and go right into his legs, causing Chris to trip and land chin-first on the floor! The crowd cheers and laughs as Magnifico walks over to Wilson, grabs him by the arm, and pulls him to his feet. ELM then grabs him by the head and rolls Chris into the ring, before climbing up onto the apron and heading over to the nearby corner. ELM begins climbing the turnbuckles while Wilson starts pushing himself to his feet, rubbing his chin with one hand. Magnifico reaches the top turnbuckle and waits there, perched like some kind of Mexican condor as Wilson, facing away from the luchadore, finally stands up. Unaware of Magnifico’s presence, Chris slowly turns around and comes face to face with Magnifico, who takes that as a cue to leap off of the top rope towards Wilson! ELM soars towards Wilson with his legs leading the way, and as he approaches, Magnifico wraps his legs around Chris’s head, looking to land the Fall of the Aztecs! However, Wilson grabs ELM around the waist as soon as his legs are around his head, capturing the luchadore in a Powerbomb position! Not hesitating for a second, Chris suddenly lunges forward, throwing Magnifico directly into the corner with a Turnbuckle Powerbomb! The fans seem to collectively wince as ELM falls to the mat, holding his back in pain! Wilson takes a second to gather himself, then slowly walks over to Magnifico, falls to one knee, and turns ELM onto his stomach before making the cover. The ref slides into position and begins counting as the fans boo heartily...

 

ONE...

 

TWO...No! Magnifico throws his foot onto the bottom rope, which is seen by the ref at two and a half. Wilson, looking a little frustrated, rolls off of Magnifico, pushes himself to one knee, then grabs ELM by the hair and slowly stands up, dragging the luchadore up with him. Maintaining his grip on the hair, Wilson begins pounding away at ELM’s neck, using his arm to repeatedly bash Magnifico from behind and not allowing him to fall to the mat. Eventually, Wilson releases Magnifico’s hair, allowing him to fall to one knee with both hands on the back of his neck. Keeping his eyes on the luchadore, Chris heads over to the nearby corner and steps backwards onto the second turnbuckle. Wilson takes a second to line himself up with Magnifico, then jumps off of the turnbuckle, extending his knee and driving it directly into ELM’s neck as he falls! Magnifico, knocked to the ground, is motionless as Wilson rolls back to his feet after the flying knee to the neck. The cocky smirk returning to his face, Chris kicks Magnifico directly in the head, drawing a wave of boos from the crowd as ELM clutches his skull in pain.

 

Mark: And Wilson goes right back to the neck. At this point, he must be working towards the Finishing Touches, as Magnifico was able to easily reverse his Jumping Piledriver.

 

Bobby: Yup, like I said. You really oughta pay attention to me, Stevens.

 

Mark: I’ve only been commentating with you one night and I already hate you. Congratulations.

 

Magnifico begins struggling to his feet, pushing himself to his hands and knees as Wilson looks on confidently, not doing anything to stop the luchadore. But when ELM is close to reaching his feet, Wilson begins walking backwards, putting room between himself and Magnifico. When ELM finally does stand and turns towards Chris, Wilson suddenly charges towards him, lashing out with his arm and looking to connect with a Clothesline! However, Magnifico manages to sidestep Wilson and grab his ankles with his feet, tripping Chris up with a Drop Toe Hold! As Wilson falls, ELM reaches out and wraps his arms around his face, slapping on a Facelock and locking in the Sangria Stretch as Wilson hits the mat! The surprised crowd bursts into cheers as Magnifico wrenches back on Wilson’s neck, causing him to cry out in pain.

 

Mark: Whoa! Magnifico took Wilson totally by surprise, slapping on the Sangria Stretch when Wilson least expected it! Chris has spent a good portion of the match working on ELM’s neck, but now it’s his neck that’s being torn apart!

 

The ref slides to the mat and asks Wilson is he wants to give up, and Chris answers with a resounding “No!” before crying out in pain once more. A determined look comes over Magnifico’s face as he wrenches back even harder on Wilson’s neck, stretching the muscle and bone to its limits. Chris seems to realize that he has to escape soon, as he begins shifting his entire weight towards the ropes, forcing his entire body in one direction with Magnifico on his back. Wilson slowly gets closer, and closer, and closer to the ropes, until he is within arm’s length. Chris painstakingly reaches out with his arm, takes a desperate swipe at the bottom rope...and grabs it, much to the chagrin of the crowd! The ref yells at ELM to release the hold, which he refuses to do until the ref counts to three and threatens disqualification. Magnifico releases the Facelock and rolls off of Wilson, his chest heaving in exhaustion while Chris lays face-down in front of the ropes, holding the back of his neck in pain.

 

Mark: No! Wilson struggled desperately to escape the Sangria Stretch, and was barely able to do so!

 

Bobby: That’s right, and if Magnifico doesn’t keep up the offense, it’ll all be for nothing!

 

After resting for a few seconds, ELM slowly turns onto his stomach and begins pushing himself to his feet, with Wilson following suit shortly after. Magnifico eventually manages to get to his feet, slowly and carefully standing up while Wilson is on one knee. Still breathing deeply, Magnifico approaches Wilson and attempts to grab him, but is taken by surprise when Chris suddenly lunges forward and drives his arm upwards, driving it into Magnifico’s groin with a Low Blow! ELM falls to one knee, giving Wilson the opportunity to push himself to his feet while the crowd boos him viscously. Once Chris is standing, he grabs Magnifico by the hair and jerks him to his feet, pleased with watching the luchadore struggle beneath his grasp. Suddenly, Wilson drives his knee forward, slamming it straight into Magnifico’s gut and doubling him over once again! Wasting little time, Chris wraps his arms around the luchadore’s waist, then pulls Magnifico right next to him! Wilson holds that position for a second, making the most of the moment...and then lifts ELM into the air, pulling him onto his shoulder for a Gutwrench Powerbomb! But as Wilson is lifting Magnifico, the luchadore manages to struggle out of his grasp and slide down Chris’ back, landing on his feet and facing away from his opponent! Almost instinctively, Magnifico reaches back and hooks both of Wilson’s arms as if for a Backslide!

 

Mark: Waittaminute! Magnifico escaped the Gutwrench Powerbomb, and is looking to land the Baja California Crusher!

 

ELM looks like he’s about to begin running towards the turnbuckle, but right before he can do so, Wilson suddenly breaks one arm free, spins around, and wraps it around Magnifico’s head! With ELM distracted and surprised, Chris manages to break his other arm free and wrap it around Magnifico’s head as well, before dropping to the mat, pulling Magnifico down with him and slamming the luchadore’s head and neck into the canvas with a Diamond Cutter!

 

Bobby: Ah ha! Wilson caught Magnifico again, reversing his finisher into a Diamond Cutter! And with the damage ELM sustained to his neck, this has got to be it!

 

Apparently thinking along the same lines as Riley, Wilson quickly rolls onto Magnifico’s chest, lying there motionless as the ref slides into position and begins counting to a chorus of boos...

THR-Nooo! Magnifico gets his shoulder up right before three, silencing all of the boos and replacing them with relieved cheers! Wilson slowly rolls off of the luchadore, a look of anger and disbelief coming over his face before he covers it with his hands. ELM slowly turns onto his stomach and holds his neck in pain as Wilson begins pounding the mat in frustration!

 

Mark: Damn! It looked like Wilson had Magnifico with a Gutwrench Powerbomb, but then the tables turned, as ELM was about to hit the Baja California Crusher! But Wilson managed to stay in control, further injuring Magnifico’s neck further and nearly getting a three count with a Diamond Cutter out of nowhere!

 

Wilson pounds the mat a few more times and gets all of his anger out before composing himself somewhat and pushing himself up to his feet. After he stands, Chris heads over to Magnifico and begins angrily stomping him on the neck while shouting out a string of random curses at the luchadore. After about ten stomps, Wilson reaches down, grabs ELM by the hair, and begins painfully pulling him to his feet. Chris leans down so that his face is directly in front of Magnifico’s, and looks deep into the luchadore’s glazed-over eyes. Suddenly, Wilson yells out “TRAITOR!” before slapping the luchadore directly in the face! Wilson maintains his grip, however, not allowing ELM to fall to the mat while the crowd boos the blatant show of disrespect from the former leader of the IGNWO. Looking as angry and frustrated as ever, Wilson grabs Magnifico by the arm and whips him across the ring towards the far ropes. ELM bounces off and rushes back towards Wilson, and as he approaches, Chris sidesteps towards him and throws his foot into the air, looking to connect with a Miami Sidekick! However, Magnifico suddenly hits the mat feet-first, sliding beneath Wilson’s foot and popping to his feet behind him! As soon as he stands up, ELM grabs Chris by the arm, spins him around, and then uses his grip to twist the arm into a Half Chickenwing! Maintaining the hold, Magnifico then grabs Wilson around the head and quickly drops to his knees, slamming Chris’s chin into his shoulder with Montezuma’s Revenge! The surprised crowd releases a loud pop as Wilson springs backwards off of Magnifico’s shoulder and falls to the mat, while an exhausted luchadore collapses to the canvas, right next to Wilson.

 

Mark: Desperate move from Magnifico, but it paid off as he nailed Wilson with the Montezuma’s Revenge! That might be enough for the pinfall, if ELM can pull himself together in time!

 

Bobby: Which he won’t! All Magnifico has done is delay the pinfall by stunning Wilson for a few seconds.

 

Both Wilson and Magnifico lay motionless on the mat for several seconds, spurring the ref to begin counting them out. As the ref slowly counts, the crowd grows louder and louder, simultaneously clapping and cheering to get Magnifico to cover Wilson. Finally, when the ref reaches seven and it seems like the crowd isn’t going to get any louder, Magnifico slowly rolls towards Wilson and throws his arm onto Chris’ chest, making the cover! The fans somehow manage to cheer even louder as the ref slides into position and begins counting...

TH-Nooo! Wilson gets his shoulder up at two and a half, ending the cheers and drawing a huge OOOOH! from the fans! Magnifico rolls back off of Wilson, his chest heaving and one hand on his neck. Neither man moves for a few seconds after the attempted pinfall, until ELM rolls onto his stomach and begins pushing himself to his feet, followed by Wilson a few seconds later. After a bit of struggling, Magnifico finally manages to stumble to his feet, falling backwards into the ropes and using them for support as Wilson slowly stands in front of him. Seeing ELM leaning against the ropes, Chris approaches him and throws a stiff punch, which Magnifico takes before countering with one of his own! Wilson seems surprised by ELM’s retaliation, but quickly gets over it and lands another punch, only to have it returned again! With a sudden burst of adrenaline, Magnifico begins unloading on Wilson, backing him across the ring with an endless flurry of quick jabs! Desperate to stop the assault, Chris suddenly thrusts his knee forward, throwing it into Magnifico’s gut and doubling him over! The crowd immediately begins booing Wilson as he applies a Front Facelock to the luchadore, before hooking both of his arms, Double Arm DDT style! Wasting little time, Chris immediately falls backwards, slamming the Magnifico’s skull into the canvas with a Double Arm DDT, drawing a concerned OHHH! from the crowd! Seemingly stunned by the DDT, Magnifico remains motionless and lying face-down on the mat while Wilson slowly pushes himself to his feet.

 

Mark: It looked like ELM was about to stage an amazing comeback, but Wilson has cut it short! It seems that this might be it for Magnifico.

 

Bobby: And it’s because Wilson learned from his mistakes and got the job done! No cocky attitude, just brutal, efficient destruction!

 

As Chris gets to his feet, he looks out over the crowd with the signature smirk returning to his face, drawing a wave of boos from the fans. After reveling in the hatred for a second, Wilson lifts his arm and draws it across his neck with the universal “cutthroat” gesture! Having confirmed the fans’ greatest fears, Wilson turns towards ELM and steps over him, then lays on his back and begins pulling Magnifico’s legs back with his feet! Eventually, Chris uses his feet to trap Magnifico’s legs in a folded up position, then reaches forward, hooks both of ELM’s arms from behind, places his hands on ELM’s neck, and begins pulling backwards! Magnifico cries out in pain as Wilson locks in the Double Full Nelson STF, better known as the Finishing Touches!

 

Bobby: Here we go! All of Wilson’s working on Magnifico’s neck is about to pay off, as the Finishing Touches will tear apart ELM’s neck without giving him a chance to escape!

 

Mark: It doesn’t look good for the luchadore! How long can he hold out?

 

The ref slides down to the mat and asks Magnifico if he wants to quit, and receives a shouted “NO!” as his answer. Upon hearing this, Chris wrenches back farther and harder on ELM’s neck, drawing another cry of pain from the luchadore. Realizing that he has to escape the hold somehow, Magnifico suddenly begins shifting all of his weight to the side, attempting to turn himself onto his back! ELM slowly turns further and further, nearly turning over as the crowd cheers him on. Finally, with one last push, Magnifico manages to turn himself completely over, with Wilson beneath him and pinned to the mat! Chris suddenly realizes the position he’s in, and desperately begins untangling himself as the ref slides down to the mat and begins counting...

THREEE!! Wilson breaks the hold and escapes from beneath Magnifico a second too late, as the ref springs to his feet and signals for the bell!

 

DING DING DING

 

Funyon: Your winner, by pinfall...El Luchadooooooorre Magnificooooooo!!

 

Mark: Amazing! ELM managed to shift his weight and turn himself over, pinning Wilson beneath him while he still had the Finishing Touches locked in! Chris couldn’t untangle his legs and arms in time to escape!

 

Magnifico rolls out of the ring and steps out to the floor, one hand on his neck as he looks back at Wilson, who has stood back up and is angrily arguing with the ref. Upon seeing ELM looking at him, Chris charges towards the ropes closest to the entrance ramp and begins screaming at Magnifico, nearly frothing at the mouth in fury as a satisfied grin comes over ELM’s face. “Mission Trip to Mexico” blasts over the speakers as Magnifico pumps his fist into the air, only angering Wilson further.

 

Bobby: All that work, for nothing! You suck, Wilson!

 

Mark: C’mon, you were kissing his ass during the whole match! At least stick with your idiotic rambling!

 

Bobby: Idiotic! Dammit, if I weren’t retired-

 

Mark: Don’t let that stop you, pal. Anyway, that’s all the time we have here tonight. Tune into SWF Storm! Goodnight!

 

The last image the show broadcasts before fading to black is the ref rushing up the ramp and handing the LHW Title to Magnifico, who thrusts it in the air to draw one last pop from the crowd...

To be honest ELM, there were 2 reasons Wilson's match won.

 

1) I liked his middle match spots better.

 

2) While I wasn't impressed with either ending, I had trouble seeing yours.  I really wasn't feeling the Finishing Touches reversed into a pin...I read it twice, and I just couldn't feel it. Both were rather anti-climactic...so it was close.  

 

I have a 30 point scale for when I mark matches....you got a 25...Wilson got 27...so it was real close.

 

I think both of you need to work on your commentary.  You both have huge blocks of things going on, and no one saying anything.  There'll be like or six moves before anyone says anything...so...that's just a thought.

 

I hope you don't mind me posting this here...maybe I should of PMed you instead.
