gWIL 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Saw it last night and was very surprised that it's actually really good. As in one of the best movies I've seen all year. It's not the typical Adam Sandler movie at all. Reminded me a lot of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mond but a little less good. I'm in SHOCK that it's at 31% on Rotten Tomatoes. Couple of good reviews though... "This comic fantasy is the best vehicle he's (Sandler) ever had, a high-concept goof that gradually darkens into an emotional nightmare reminiscent of Capra..." King Kamala 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 I saw it last night. I disagree with you and thought it kind of sucked. I'd give it *1/2 out of *****. It was an incredibly unfocused screenplay with actors on cruise control throughout. It was like they had two different scripts; one wacky typical Sandler comedy and a cheesy, maudlin dramedy. I thought if they wanted to do a dramedy, they should have gotten an actor better than Sandler and if they wanted to do a wacky Sandler movie they should have lightened it up a bit. I loved Punch Drunk Love, it was my favorite Sandler movie because it had a cohesive script and Paul Thomas Anderson knew how to properly utilize Sandler's marginal acting skills.
