I don't see why he would.

 

If they didn't want him and he doesn't need them........

 

They need each other.

 

The Democrats need him so they can save face with the public and in terms of raw numbers.

 

Lieberman needs them because a senator is only as powerful as his party allows him to be, in terms of chairmanships, committee seniority, and cooperation on the liberal issues he supports. Without a party backing him, he's got nothing.

I'm sure the GOP will be promising him porkbarrel spending $$$, chairmenships, and Taiwanese hookers to join their side.
