Smackdown Non-spoiler Preview

Recommended Posts

...e had started the thread, which they should have, dammit.

- Funaki vs. ???

- Gregory Helms vs. Tatanka

- Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. Idol Stevens & KC James

- Rey Mysterio vs. Mr. Kennedy

- Vito vs. Slyvan

- Sylvester Turkay vs. Jobber

- Batista & Bobby Lashley vs. William Regal & Finlay

Looks way more shittastic than last week's cocktail of awesomeness. I assume the first two matches won't make TV, which is a shame because Tatanka rules so much.

If those two matches are on the show, you spoiled the return of ???!

You bastard.

Revelations yield repercussions.

Last week on Smackdown, after The Great Khali invaded an epic contest between Undertaker and World Heavyweight Champion King Booker, "The Deadman" sustained Khali’s attack and fought off the giant Punjabi warrior. "The Phenom" then cast a grim challenge to a Last Man Standing Match with Khali at SummerSlam. How will The Great Khali and Daivari respond? Will these two deadly rivals meet on August 20th?

Amidst all the turmoil with Chavo Guerrero, Rey Mysterio will have to face the brash Mr. Kennedy tonight. Last week Mysterio confronted Guerrero at ringside after accusations of being a "leech living off the blood of the Guerrero name." If not for the intervention of the late Eddie Guerrero's wife, Vickie Guerrero, these former lifelong friends might have destroyed one another. Will the former World Heavyweight Champion be able to focus on his match, or will Kennedy show that his wins over Batista were no fluke?

Speaking of Batista, "The Animal" will be forming a powerhouse pairing with fellow big man, Lashley, in a tag team match against Finley and William Regal. After several weeks of facing each other in singles competition, will Finlay and Regal be able to put their rivalry behind them and go back to being friends? Even if they can, will their skills, and maybe some help from Finlay's Little Bastard, be any match for the power of Batista and Lashley?

That won't be the only thing on Batista's mind. As reported on WWE.com, General Manager Theodore Long has announced that King Booker will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Batista at SummerSlam.

WWE.com has also reported that Long has plans for bringing new superstars to Smackdown by relaunching the New Talent Initiative. We've already seen the debut of several stars such as Sylvester Terkay, Elijah Burke, Idol Stevens, and K.C. James. Will we meet any new acquisitions on tonight?

The Diva Search contestants were met by a sweet surprise last week, receiving pies in their faces while addressing the Smackdown fans. Unfortunately for Erica, it was her last taste of the Diva Search as she was eliminated Monday on Raw. Tonight, the final four finalists will face off in a talent competition. How will the Diva hopefuls stack up, and who will be the next Diva to be eliminated from the 2006 $250,000 Diva Search?

Find out the answers to these and other questions by catching Smackdown tonight at 8pm/7pm CT on UPN.

Doesn't sound bad. The tag title match, Mysterio/Kennedy, and the ME should all be good.

I'm also interested in the result of the Vito/Sylvain match, even if the actual wrestling won't be very good. Which low-carder is getting the real mini push?
