KingPK 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2006 I gotta say, AngleSlam this year has gotten the type of hype and buildup that would suit an AngleMania. Pretty much every match on the card has been built up very well and I'm interested in how they all turn out. As for the show this week, definitely a good way to go into a PPV. Pretty much every match got that last bit of buildup and there were even some good matches by LP and PFL that have nothing to do with the PPV coming up and another good viginette with Theodore Moneymaker. Perhaps we can get that women's division going again. Well done all around.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2006 PK is spot on in his analysis of AS. It has that AM feel, which I guess makes up for this year's show. Whether it signals the return of the women's division of not, the opening match had a WTF moment when Sydney won with her feet on the ropes. Given how the match came about and how she debuted in the OAOAST with Pete, I just assumed she was a face. Surprised to see PFL write another match for the fed. It was treat to read, that's for sure. Always been a mark for a promo conducted inside an empty arena. That promo made me believe PR/SJ could make some noise in the tag division if they ever chose to enter it. OAOAST Backtracker has gained a following! Brock-Otaku could be a show stealer at AS. Nice touch including the original Miami Mayhem match on the show for those of us who've never read on. I just realized we have two women named Sky in the fed, although spelled differently. D*LUX showing a mean streak, throwing Jamie off the stage like that. TK and PR both look strong heading into AS. Impressive win for Landon. I mark for the guy already. Then I mark for Leon, who made Landon his bitch with his promo. Video package. Another nice touch. Adds to the presentation of the show. Hoff, where are you? Whoever wrote the Drek/TK stuff (I'd like to say NYU) did an excellent job. Match of the Night: Hoff vs. Alf Line of the Night: "If some greenhorn showed up with a handheld mic, dressed up in a 20 cent suit trying to imitate your 80 cent suit and called himself "Lene" Dene, you'd punk his ass out on the spot." -- Scotty Static
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2006 I think there was a contiunity problem with the PR/SJ segments. First PR SJ have the TK promo, and they're on the same page. Then SJ is yelling at PR and they're not. We should have reversed the order, and spaced them out in the show
KingPK 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2006 Yeah, I couldn't really find another spot on the show for the empty arena promo, so I put them back to back becuase you could assume that the first promo was taped earlier in the day for it to make sense.
