the pinjockey Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 Is it wrong that in a perverse sort of way I am looking forward to watching Temple/Buffalo tonight?
Guest Princess Leena Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 You should. Buffalo is a program on the rise.
the pinjockey Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 I hope they blow out Temple, just so I don't have to read anymore stories about them. You know what, you can do stories about the rebirth of the program when they actually you know win a game. With Penn State's rise and a legit Rutgers team (Ray Rice and Brian Leonard are a great 1-2 punch at RB), the amount of pub Temple gets compared to that is amazing.
Guest Princess Leena Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 I'm just glad Buffalo won't be the doormats of the MAC, starting next year.

Just you wait until Al Golden Showers wins on the Temple program! Yeah, bad pun I know. Temple athletics have really falled off the face of the earth since 2000-2001. Well, we at least knew Temple's football program sucked then too, but who knew the basketball program would fall into mediocrity as well? I bet Nova's football team would do better than Temple if they moved up from 1-AA, at least we've been solid the past several years there (except for last year with the injuries, we actually beat Temple at the Linc in 2003), and we wouldn't get kicked out of the Big East like they did.
Bored Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 A real barn burner in Buffalo, 0-0 in the 4th. If it's still scoreless at the end of regulation ESPN soooooo needs to break into that game for overtime. Central Michigan won't go away against BC, back within a touchdown.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 UB gets to the Temple 2, and of course is fucking it up. 2nd down from the 10.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 FG is good! 3-0! It's gonna stand up! Daaa. Da da daa, da da. Da dada dada da daaa!
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 INT on Temple's possession! Wooo!
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Shut your mouth! Cheer on UB!
Hawk 34 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I picked Buffalo. Only because of Leena. Leena wouldn't steer me the down the wrong path.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 TD! TD! They win it! They win it 41 to 38... I mean 9 to 3! It's pandamonium! It's FANdamonium! It is... fantastic!
Hawk 34 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Let it be known that I went to MOH for the education, not the sports culture. Not a good night for the Redhawks. At least Kent State got murdered. KSU losing puts a smile on my face.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Kent will lose to UB again this year. 2 wins in the bag.
Hawk 34 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Kent will lose to UB again this year. 2 wins in the bag. Steal a couple wins and UB could easily obtain one of the many shit bowl bids out there.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 International Bowl! UB would travel well to Toronto!
Vern Gagne Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 How many people in Buffalo even know there's a Division I-A football program in their city?
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Mostly everyone. The basketball team got lots of attention when they were SCREWED out of a bid 2 years ago.
iggymcfly Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I must be desperate for football, because I'm really enjoying this Mississippi State/South Carolina game tonight. Fowler and Herbstreit have a really good dynamic, and it's almost better without Corso out there overshadowing the game all the time. I don't really mind the defensive struggle as long as it's a good game, and this has been pretty well played. It's just that the D-lines have been overpowering the O-lines all night long.
iggymcfly Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I remember when I used to play JV HS football, that play worked every time. We won a couple 6-0 games because of the double pass.
Bored Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 Toledo/Iowa State is going to overtime. Rockets converted two 4th and longs on the game tying drive. Arizona State is losing 14-7 to Northern Arizona in the 2nd quarter.
iggymcfly Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Living in a Big Sky town after attending a Pac-Ten school last year, I find this score kind of interesting: Northern Arizona 14 Arizona State 7 6:13 left in the 2nd in this one. Guess ASU's not as good as everyone thought. If you get all the FSN channels (I do), this game's showing on Fox Sports Arizona right now.
HarleyQuinn Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I'm watching the Northern Arizona/Zona game. It's actually quite entertaining although I'm rooting for the underdog in NAU to win so...I'm biased. It's on channel 649 for those who have DirecTV.
Bored Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 I started getting Fox College Sports Central for no apparent reason a couple of months ago on Comcast. Has to be the most bizarre line up as what I mostly see on the channel were constant reairings of Big XII spring games and then "classic" Florida games that were usually blowouts. But I am getting the NAU/ASU game on it tonight so guess I will pick up a few extra games this year. Toledo/ISU both score on first overtime drives, 30-30.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I have it too, but I'm watching UTEP/SDS. Go Aztecs!
