-The trailer for "Feast" is up. Remember, it comes out on September 22nd and 23rd in midnight screenings, then goes to DVD unrated on October 17th

-Behind the Scenes photos for the Day of the Dead remake are up

-It seems like the upcoming adaptation of Richard Matherson's "I Am Legend" might be (ugh) a buddy flick. Will Smith and Johnny Depp are set to star.

-"Creep" director Christopher Smith's next project is called "Severence". The movie deals with a group of buisinessmen on a retreat, only to be hunted by a pair of renegade war-crazed soldiers. The official website has a trailer, and it looks like a lot of fun.

-"Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes" will debut on Sci-Fi on October 28th. The movie stars Lance Hendrikson and Doug (the "Hellraiser" movies) Bradley, and was directed by Jake ("Evil Aliens") West

-The new poster for "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" is up

Well, two good actors and it's an original take. Doesn't sound like the smartest orginal take, but at least they hired two guys who might be able to make something out of nothing.

The problem I have with this, is that it strays too far away from the story. The story "I Am Legend" may be the greatest vampire novel/novelette ever written. The fact that it might end up being a buddy flick ruins the whole thing, because it's nothing like the original novel. I know that movies usually tend to be different than books, but this is a bit too radical, considering that the original story is about the last man on Earth, not the last men.

-Anyways, it's been confirmed that Kevin Smith will be doing a commentary track for the upcoming special edition of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2"

That's one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. The ENTIRE POINT of I Am Legend is that the main character is the LAST guy on Earth. Why bother even keeping the same title if you're gonna change it that much?

The worst part: the studios have tried this exact same thing before, with the exact same source material. Any big fans of The Omega Man out there? Anyone? Didn't think so.

Actually, I enjoyed "The Omega Man" for what it was. Plus, Heston dies. You can never go wrong when Heston dies. And actually, the worst part about this is all the slash fiction that will surface. Depp and Smith as the last men on earth? That's the real god damn horror.

The more I hear about the DVD for "The Woods", the more it makes me feel sad. The film got stuck on the shelf for YEARS and then when it makes the way to a screen of SOME kind, it's a bare bones barely the film is on it DVD. That just completely bites when it can't be released but crap like "PULSE" can get a wide release.

I once found "Dawn of the Dead" (the Romero original) slash fiction. Hell, it's practically a golden internet rule: whatever you like, some fanboy or fangirl will find some way to ruin it for you with porn.

Ditto. I quite enjoyed the Omega Man, as well. Though, the Last Man On Earth w/Vincent Price is by far the best of the I Am Legend adaptations.

It isn't. Don't believe the hype.

As for horror remakes? they can go fuck themselves. KNOCK IT OFF ALREADY! LEAVE THEM ALONE!

Dread Central has an audio interview with George Romero. Oh, he wants to do a new, independent entry in the Dead series called "Diary of the Dead", which takes place on the same night as "Night of the Living Dead". Oh, and he's going to be doing a comedic animated series for mobile phones featuring a zombie going after a hot chick.
