brokentusk16 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2006 We've been with dial-up at my house for the last few years now, but we're going to be getting DSL soon. The phone company will install it, but I'm worried if I will have all I need. I asked a buddy and he asked me if I had a network interface card. I have no idea. I have a socket where I plug the phoneline into the computer. Will that be enough? Or will the modem the installation comes with cover everything? Any help/advice would be much appreciated. brokentusk16 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2006 We got the computer sometime in 2001. It's Compaq Presario 5000. I looked up a website (http://www99.epinions.com/content_49443868292) and it says that the computer comes with a "10/100Mb PCI NIC". Does that sound right?
