Lets talk about KOTR.

Undisputed Title match

Undertaker vs. HHH...yeah...HHH...woo...

Kurt Angle vs. Hulk Hogan...tough call...they've both been jobbers lately.  I can see Angle winning but getting his wig ripped off so Hogan gets his heat back.

Steve Austin vs. Eddy Guerrero...I see Guerrero winning with Benoit interference.

IC title match

RVD vs. Brock Lesnar...who knows...the best way to do it is to have all of RVDs spots countered by Brock into his power moves (which RVD can bump like a mad man for) and have RVD win with a fluke rollup to give him a reign longer than 3 weeks (which would kind of kill any momentum the belt got from that ladder match anyway).   Knowing the WWE...Brock will either win to set up a rematch that RVD will win it back...again.  Or they ARE dumb enough to pull a double turn with one of their most over faces...and least over heels.

Cruiserweight title match

Hurricane vs. Jamie Knoble...I see a title change...cause thats what the WWE does

KOTR tourney...I predict Booker over Jericho in the finals...probably with indirect help from Edge.

Maybe some Hardcore or tag team bull crap too.

What do you think?

All I know is the KING BOOKER skits will be GOLD. Booker in a cape and crown, doing a royal spinoroonie, Goldust as his royal duke, treating Xpac and Show as his lowly subjects. It will be awesome.

I think Book winning is a lock...if only for the comedy gold.

I know I'm rooting for him.

Which means the WWE will purposely have someone else win, just to be shocking and show up the internet and piss everyone off in the process.

I wonder who else will be in the tourney on ppv.

my guess is that their will be 2 more qualifiers on Raw, then 2 more on SD!.  Then next week (the week before the ppv) it will be narrowed down to 2 on each show.

SD! still has Storm that would fit GREAT into a tourney with Jericho and Booker in it...but they'll probably give it to Test.

Actually I think the 2 semis are set, they make sense. Booker vs. Xpac on the RAW side, who have been having problems anyway, and Jericho vs. Venis on the other side, which makes sense since Val ran off Jericho after he beat down Edge. I guess Booker vs. Jericho would be our final then.

I said this in another forum, but I'll put it here:

I think Angle's gonna go over. The WWE has obviously been building to a Hogan/Vince match, which they'll probably save for Summerslam. Angle's probably going to destroy Hogan, giving him about a month off. Even if Hogan does win, it will probably be a cheap win, and we can all take pleasure in watching Angle kill Hogan in retaliation.

Booker/Jericho is a great call for the finals. Booker surely must be the only choice they have for a winner. Only other possibility(that wouldn't suck) is King Jericho, with X-Pac costing Booker the win after losing to Da Book in a semi final.

Austin won't lose to Eddie. Austin will defy all odds, stun everybody outside, then stun Eddie for the win. The only way I can see Eddie winning is after inteference from Arn, Ric, 5 security guys, Benoit, Arn again, Ric again, a steel chair, a lead pipe, the keg of beer he makes his "assistant" bring down for him and a fist full of tights. Even then his foot will be under the rope.

Knoble will win. It seems anytime a new guy is debuted in that division they quickly win the title. It WILL fail to get Knoble over, btw.

UT is going over. They've spent too much time building him up. Maybe Test and Storm can cost HHH the match.

Meanwhile, Sakura will be playing Halo on sunday night instead of watching this crap.

KING OF THE RING 2002

Chris Jericho vs Val Venis

Booker T vs X-Pac

Thats it?

2 'gruelling' matches?

What ever happened to the elite 8?

It makes more sense to have an 8-man tournament, so the winner would have won 3 matches in one night to become the King of the Ring.

Damn WWE!

I wish they'd make up their minds on the actual process for the KOTR Tournament. Instead, year after year they have mofos like me guessing whether they will have an 8 man...or a crappy as 4 man.

I mean, at least have some brackets!

*sigh*

Regardless, Booker will reign supreme.

I can't wait for the Booker King skits with Goldust serving as his court jester...

COM-ED-Y!

:)

Good predictions except Eddy will beat Austin. Unlike his past few feuds, Austin requested to work with Guerrero, meaning it's likely it will continue at least another month. So Eddy should win by CHEATING~! from Benoit/Flair/Anderson.

I'll be away at the beach that week so I'll be missing the PPV, no big deal though, last one I saw was WM18.

A few weeks ago I'd have agreed. Now Benoit is back and Eddie is still heatless. I see Eddie losing at KOR, Benoit beating Austin at Vengeance, and then Austin winning the blow off at Summerslam in a rematch against Benoit.

Unless Benoit is not ready for Vengeance. In that case, Eddie will win at KOR and then lose at Vengeance.

Or WWE will push the panic button, drop Benoit and Eddie completely and do UT vs. Austin part 54563.

You know it's a possibilty.....

Hogan's been on a losing streak lately and has stated in his promo's that he wants to retire... but Vince won't let him. So I see it going this way

Angle beats Hogan, destroys him... Hogan takes some time off... comes back before Summerslam, gives a promo stating that "it's obvious that he can't go with the top guys any longer blah blah blah, and that he wants to retire..." so then he challenges Vince to a match at Summerslam for the "right to retire" stipulations thrown in. It would be a novel idea. We've seen retirement matches where whoever loses is forced into retirement, but I can't think of a single instance where two wrestlers were fighting for the right to hang up the boots.

Undertaker is going over HHH in the main event. Since HHH has been semi feuding with Storm/Test, I see one or both interfereing (probably Test... sigh) and costing him the match

Austin/Guerrero: How much sense would it make for Austin to win here? If he wants to truly establish this as a feud with this group he needs to let them win the first battle to escalate the war. I say since the WWE is more serious now about the product, that Eddie goes over with help from Benoit

Lesnar vs. RVD: If they end up going with this as a single's match, I see RVD winning by a fluke. I think they need to go ahead and kill the "unstoppable Goldberg" gimmick and just let him become "the next big thing" on his own with time instead of pushing that down our throats... because if they keep doing that, it's destined to fail.

KOR: Booker T is obviously heading in that direction. If he wins, then we can all actually marvel at the writing team's booking ahead of time because all of the pieces would fit together. Booker T's tension with the rest of the nWo, his playing to the crowd, becoming the only face in the group, his friendship with Golddust, and his "arrogant, I'm better than all of you" attitude to both X-Pac and the rest of the nWo. As King Booker, he'll become ever more arrogant obviously, which would lead to a full blown face turn and possible split away from the nWo

What i'd LIKE to happen would be if Jericho got pissed off at losing in kotr, then costing taker the belt and beating the shit out of him afterwards, leading to him retiring him. But noooo.

I certainly hope Booker T becomes the KOTR. He's been very entertaining as of late, anything involving Booker being among the best parts of Raw.

With the Brock/RVD match, i'd like to see Brock become the IC champ, following interference from the Undertaker, who should beat HHH later on. I don't like seing the IC Title change hands so much, but then it could stay with Brock for a lengthy reign, and Taker could feud with RVD leading to a RVD title win at Summerslam or something.

Probably won't happen, but i'd like to see it.

I'm pretty sure they are doing more qualifying matches. They will do 2 on RAW and 2 on Smackdown, and the week after do 2 quarters on RAW and 2 on Smackdown, leaving the semis and the finals at KOTR. I'm basing this on the KOTR website which says "King of the Ring Qualifying Matches have begun!

Be sure to check back daily to find out who will compete in the next qualifying matches. Below are the results of the first round:" and then lists the results so far.

Booker vs. Jericho is the ideal matchup for the finals but I still don't have enough faith in the machine to see it come to life.

Remembere when Jericho, Eddie, Benoit and Angle were all in the first round in 2000? We walked away with a horrible PPV and a lackluster tourney. I don't see why they would now decide to give us an awesome final!

I figure X pac beats Jericho at the KOTR in a stunning upset to piss everyone off and push X Pac in conjunction with pushing the nWo.

Not that I want to see that happen, of course.  Id much rather see Jericho win it.  Even Booker T would be a good choice.

HHH/Taker: HHH gets his win back, and procedes to end the best title reign since Jericho, and destroy all the work Taker has been doing with Midcarders

Hogan/Angle: Hogan wins after fending off Vince. Look for Bob Holly to cost Angle to match, setting up the Compelling Angle/Holly feud.

Hurricane/That Really annoying Hooting and Hollering Guy (with Nidia): Who the fuck cares? Hopefully it will be SHORT.

King of Ring Tournament

Here are my brackets

Round 1 (Italicized matches have already happened)

X-Pac vs. Goldust: X-Pac

Booker vs. Regal: Booker

D-Lo vs. Brock: Brock

Spike vs. Stevie Richards: Spike

Jericho vs. Edge: Jericho

Venis vs. Christian: Venis

Test vs. Randy Orton: Test

Bob Holly vs Lance Storm: Storm (Angle interference)

Round 2

X-Pac vs. Booker: Booker

Spike vs. Brock: Brock

Jericho vs. Venis: Venis (Edge-erference)

Test vs. Lance Storm: Test

Semis

Booker vs. Brock: Booker (Heyman fuck up)

Test vs. Venis: Test

Finals

Test vs. Booker: Test (nWo interference)

*Note: that is not what I WANT to happen, that is what WILL happen.

booker-test was my initial prediction but you left out d-von and buh buh who I think will also make it to the final four creating a battle of former tag team partners.

I don't know about D-Von and Buh Buh. Hell, I'm not so sure they make the PPV.

But I'm still having horrible nightmares of "King Test the Heatless"

Yes, but also remember that Eddie, Benoit & Jericho were all eliminated in the first round, and the final was certainly not "awesome."

that's my point. i don't have faith in the WWF machine to do the right thing. It should have been jericho, benoit, eddy and angle advancing with three matches going ****.

Instead we almost received King Rikishi.

HHH/Taker will be a farse, just like everything else trying to pass itself off as wrestling in the main event right now.

Hogan/Angle will probably see Angle lose, unfortunately. Then again, neither guy has any type of long term value right now, so I guess it could go either way.

Austin/Eddy will hopefully see Austin lose. I think it could happen considering Austin actually wants this feud to succeed, while he was simply trying to burry the nWo for the last few months.

The tourniment itself could go anywhere. No one really cares about it, including the writers.

Hurricane will lose to Knoble. The match might not suck, but it's not far from the realm of possibility.

I'm quite sure there will be more participants involved in KOTR.  Booker and X-Pac are in on Raw, and Jericho and Venis are in on Smackdown.  I do not see Brock in the tourney, unless he faces Buh-Buh.  Brock is not slated to fight RVD for the IC Title.  That might be down the line, but his feud is with Buh-Buh right now.  Here is my take on the KOTR:

Raw---

Booker, X-Pac, RVD, Raven

Smackdown---

Jericho, Venis, Storm, Orton

I see the following things happening:

1. Booker beating X-Pac and creating more of a rift in the nWo and leading to Booker's eventual face turn.

2. Booker and RVD putting on a good match going into the finals.

3. Orton upsetting Storm after Storm dominates, then Storm attacks him and helps Jericho win.

4. Jericho vs. Booker in the finals, and I honestly don't know who will win.

Indeed, Anglesault.

I'm hoping Taker wins. I'm really beginning to respect him, and I think he'd make a good champ if he can get his workrate up to what it was before. He's putting over mid-carders, helping to push them a little and such.

So let's see, if things hold true to the pattern of champions so far:

No Way Out: Jericho

WM: HHH

Backlash: Hogan

JD: Taker

Then HHH wins at KOR, KING! Test wins at Vengeance, and The Rock wins again at Summerslam, leading to VINCE MCMAHON!!!! winning the title the following Raw and "firing" The Rock. Vince then jobs to HHH at No Mercy, Austin wins at Survivor Series, and at Armageddon, RVD...

Loses in a triple-threat match to KING! Test.

Let the Carousel of Shit begin. [/sarcasm]
