Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Hey, this week is acceptable. I call it Spoiler Saturday. For BCS spoilers. No Big 10 game on ESPN at Noon. That will be weird. Games I'm looking forward to: BYU/TCU. This week, and probably more so at Utah next week, are TCU's biggest tests of the season. If they can survive, they're BCS bound. Rutgers/South Florida. Just because. Purdue/Notre Dame. To see how good Purdue truly is. And if Notre Dame wins, it would take a miracle to knock them out of the BCS with the rest of their schedule until the finale at USC. Boise St./Utah. Boise's main block along with @ Nevada later in the year. Oregon/Arizona St. Because at least 80 points will be scored. And I wish to see the Sun Devils advance against the Undefeated Ducks. Oh wait, he's not here anymore. Sorry.
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Ugh... I have to drag myself out to Tiger Stadium for an 11:30 game against Mississippi State. I know there's nothing like Cowbell~! to make your defense look like a million bucks, but I wish that Jefferson Pilot had passed on this one.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 I'm looking forward to see which team Brent Musburger bet on.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Gotta be Ohio State with the current spread. Drew Tate better know not to give any secrets!
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 This week sucks? What are you talking about? We have the GAME OF THE YEAR in the ACC Coastal division when #22 Georgia Tech goes on the road to face the #14 Virginia Tech Hokies. Plus, uh......Ohio State blowing out Iowa. That will be fun for a quarter or so.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Virginia Tech/Georgia Tech is my game of the week. Should answer a lot of questions about whether or not there are any competent teams in this year's disastrous ACC.
Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Oregon/Arizona St. Because at least 80 points will be scored. And I wish to see the Sun Devils advance against the Undefeated Ducks. Oh wait, he's not here anymore. Sorry. PFFFT, YEAH RIGHT.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Hey, it's possible. ASU will score at least 30 points. Oregon will probably score 50, but, oh well.
nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 ASU got their asses beaten by Nate Longshore. Dennis Dixon should be able to pass all over them. He's coming into this game with kind of a lot of confidence in himself (72 seconds, 2 tds). ASU did rush for over 200 yards against a pretty good defense though. I guess it just depends on how ASU bounces back from the beating they took.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 26, 2006 I don't know if Oregon has the ridiculous speed that Cal has, though. It probably doesn't matter anyway. ASU's defense is hopeless. I hope Torain has another big game.
Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 I don't know if Oregon has the ridiculous speed that Cal has, though. It probably doesn't matter anyway. ASU's defense is hopeless. I hope Torain has another big game. Oregon has great team speed. Running back? Jonathon Stewart clocked his 40 in the 4.3's. Quarterback? Dennis Dixon is extremely fast and has the ability to turn on the jets when he needs to. The receivers are fast too, including world class track athlete Jordan Kent. Plus, that spread offense has been giving people fits. Its going to be a good game though, I'm looking forward to watching.
nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Im even willing to say that Oregon has more speed than Cal has.

Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 26, 2006 The Pioneer League is my favorite. It's so random and crappy.

teke184 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2006 Headlines most people thought they'd never write: "Vanderbilt 33-point favorite over Temple". http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/si_blogs/...sure-thing.html I know that Vandy's defense is good, but their offense is subpar. I guess they'll be getting a lot of help from Temple throwing picks and fumbling all day long in order to cover.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 BYU stunning TCU 17-3 in the 3rd.
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 BYU stunning TCU 17-3 in the 3rd. Reminds me of the LAST time TCU got national TV exposure as a BCS-Buster... Southern Miss beat the shit out of them for 3 quarters and it only got close in the 4th because of two onsides kicks recovered by the horny toads.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 29, 2006 Not that big of a stunner. TCU is very one-dimensional on offense with their RB's nicked up. Thought their defense was better though. Oh well.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 I figured they'd lose a couple of Mountain West games this year, but didn't think so soon.
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 TCU is officially amongst the ranks of the beaten. Auburn is up only 14-10 over South Carolina at the half which, IMHO, is a surprise considering that Georgia shut out SC a few weeks back.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 I'm not that surprised. Really short week (even though most of the important Auburn starters hardly played against Buffalo), a Thursday night road game against a fired-up conference opponent--a little bit of a "letdown" isn't that surprising. Now, if they lose, that'll be very surprising. I think it's about to be 24-10 very soon.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 If South Carolina wins, I'll be pissed but there'll be beaucoup parties downtown. If Auburn wins, I'll be happy but everyone's going to be cranky at work tomorrow.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 Whew, the SEC still has a shot at a national champion. Bone-headed play call on that final play for South Carolina.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 Really good game between S. Carolina and Auburn, and a tremendously impressive performance by Syvelle Newton. He basically took over the game by himself, making a ton of good throws, and getting 5-10 yards down the sideline whenever the receivers were covered. I really don't think it was a "letdown" for Auburn at all. South Carolina just executed their gameplan to perfection, Auburn failed to adjust to the running threat of Newton, and SC came within one play of pulling the upset. teke184 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2006 Rutgers is up by 8 with 43 seconds left, but South Florida is driving. Thanks to a late hit by Rutgers on the QB, South Florida is down to the Rutgers 21. EDIT- South Florida had a TD, but there was a holding flag on the play. 2nd and goal on South Florida at the Rutgers 15 with 22 seconds left. EDIT 2- TD by South Florida with 15 seconds left to play. HOWEVER, Rutgers has called a TD to challenge the play. EDIT 3- South Florida's receiver drops the ball in the end zone on the conversion, so it's pretty much over. South Florida will try an onsides kick though. EDIT 4- South Florida got the ball, but it looks like it didn't go 10 yards. The refs are sending it up to review, but it looks like the official call was that the ball didn't go far enough for a South Florida recovery.
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2006 Rutgers ball, game over. ESPN's taking this opportunity to make comments about Oklahoma's team watching this in their hotel rooms and asking each other "Where was this review crew when we needed them?"
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2006 I watched the 4th quarter. Really fun game. Both programs are headed in good directions and Rutgers' running backs are pretty super.
