The divison was getting red hot and now its champion was in a stalker angle, and the wrestlers are regulated to tag team matches. What Vince should do is just put Malenko in charge of the whole divison, making it seperate from the heavyweights like in New Japan. I know he's the booker or something but they need: A: More wrestlers (they have five, with two on the way) B: A new champion, I like Hurricane but they need someone without a gimmick. Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted June 9, 2002 I'll have to disagree with most of your points. First of all, I highly doubt Triple H is even bothering to get involved with the cruisers. Second, the whole point of putting the cruiserweight champ in a storyline, is to get the championship and the division over. In WCW we had great matches, but no storyline or real feuds. With Hurricane/Knoble and Tajiri/Maven, as ridiciulous as the stories are, they're giving the cruisers time, and making people care. As for TV time, they're getting their share, and Knoble/Hurricane and Tajiri/Maven are PPV locks. As for more, they will be added. Mysterio is gonna debut soon, and it sounds like he'll be made a big deal of. Plus they have a bunch of the old WCW guys still in the minors that they'll call up soon. Scotty isn't a credible junior. Rey wasn't a credible junior once he started doing the bronko buster, so neither is relavent. Juniors are fine if done right. I think part of the problem is that the management has trouble with letting the cruisers take the big risky moves that often set the division appart. Helms' Vertebreaker (Reverse Gorry Special Bomb) is the most dangerous move I've seen in wrestling from recent times, but I doubt management wants him doing it. Knoble used a Tombstone before. He's quite the Pocket-Benoit in general, too, which means his offense is very legit. Kidman's Shooting Star Press isn't the prettiest one ever done, but it draws a pop and can be bought as a finisher. Chavo has a number of moves he can do, but he seems to be going with the brainbuster now-a-days. Still perfectly credible. I mean, if Taker can win matches with "Dragon Sleepers" then I'm sure anything the Cruisers do will be credible. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Landings from moves are usually soft... it's whether or not the fans believe it's a finisher. They believe in the Angleslam, they believe in Hurricane's Eye of the Hurricane/Overcast/Chokeslam. And that weak ass Hurri-chokeslam that occasionally hits. There are various degree of tombstones. Some looke REALLY bad (I'm looking at YOU, Kane) so until i see it, I can't comment on Knoble. Kidman has that "I'll kind of shit on your head" thing that looks real bad. And the SSP never did anything for me. It just just seems way to low impact for me.
