Ok, so I have a digital camera on hold at my job that's orignally 400.00 but its dropped to 150.00 and I've negotiated 100 because it doesn't have the box with it (CD and usb cord).

So Im wondering if it'll work (transfer pics to my cpu) without the software. I know some cds are just photo programs that you dont even need (edit the photos, etc.)

Let me know what you know.

Really depends on your O/S, and possibly the camera as well. I have Windoze 2000 at work and I have to install software (read: drivers) for my Sony Cybershot, but at home on XP it connects just like a memory stick and I can copy the files directly via explorer, no software needed.

That said, even if you do end up needing drivers and whatnot for the camera, the manufacturers site should have them available for download.

Ya. And you can probably buy the USB cord at CompUSA or something.
