unbelievable...only bps would find a way to keep pimping rvd in a steve austin thread that HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ROB VAN DAM.

It has everything to do with the topic.

 

My answer was I don't side with either...then I gave the reason why.

 

Vince putting himself on the show instead of elavating talent to cover for the loss of Austin is damn topical.

I really don't know whose side to take. Austin had a point, putting a Brock/Austin match on Raw in a hotshot angle wouldn't be good. Wasting a PPV match on Raw wouldn't be any good, it would throw away a match on a PPV that could draw a monster buyrate.

 

This is what I think should have happened with Brock/Austin.

 

Austin is fighting Eddie at KOTR, and at the end of the match, it looks like Eddie is going to win, but Brock comes down and gives Eddie the Brockbuster. Austin was down, and didn't see it. Ten-count, hot ending, with Austin hitting the stunner for the 1-2-3.

 

Brock is in the finals against Jericho, and beats him clean, even without Austin, who he helped earlier that night.

 

Taker retains the title against HHH.

 

Taker comes out on Raw the next night, and challenges anyone to the title. Austin comes out, and they have a match later that night.

 

Austin sees Brock in the back, and asks him why he helped him in the Eddie match. Brock says its because he thinks Austin needs the help. Austin then looks at him with those SCSA eyes, and laughs. He says you gotta lot of balls kid for saying that, and he respects it. And that is why Austin didn't help Brock, because he knew he didn't need the help.

 

When Austin is fighting Taker, Brock comes down and nails Taker with the Brockbuster. Ten-count, Austin gets up, wham stunner, 1-2-3, we got a new champ. Brock and Austin drink some beers, and they are friends.

 

 

From here you can do two things to build to the actual match:

 

1)Have Brock/Taker at the July PPV, and have Austin/Benoit match for the title. Brock would be Taker, with no help from Austin. When Austin/Benoit are fighting, Brock comes down nails Austin with the Brockbuster and helps Benoit win the title. Austin is super pissed and wants revenge on Austin. Boom, a match for SummerSlam.

 

2)Milk the Austin/Brock alliance all the way until the October PPV(or if you REALLY wanna milk it, Royal Rumble or even Wrestlemania). Austin is defending the title against Benoit Jericho or whoever. During the match, Brock comes down to make it look like he is going to help Austin. But he nails Austin with the Brockbuster. However, the refs sees it and DQs Austin opponent. Austin is super pissed, you got a title match between Brock/Austin with Brock going over, getting a big rub.

 

It's just an idea.
