Guest buffybeast Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 Ninety percent of the posters in this thread fired Albert, Buff. Yeah, and 90% of the posters here couldn't run a successful promotion if their lives depended on it, either.

Guest Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 I wouldn't really fire that many people. Mailny deadweight over th e hill wrestlers, usless T&A that can't wrestle, or bad backstage people. the rest,no, because you never know who will be the next star. never know when the next Bret Hart or Shawn Micheals will come along. Tomorrow, Chris Harvardmania may start or Brock Lesnar will bomb worse than Goldberg's heel turn. You never know. One more post and I hit the big 1 0 0.

Yeah, and 90% of the posters here couldn't run a successful promotion if their lives depended on it, either. Yeah that's trrue, but Hosses arent always good. Notice I didn't fire Fat Albert.
Guest Brian Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 Probably because we don't have the financial backing.
Guest Brian Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 Or wrestlers with potential drawing ability and national credibility that can still wrestle and are under 40.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 I think so much of the problem isn't the wrestlers, it's the fact so many of them are left to linger without any sort of push at all, and then people who get them on height (Albert, Bull) or weight (Rikishi, Viscera) or have the 'look' (Gunn, Edge), while possibly more talented people are left to rot. An easier way to do it without offending anybody would be to give people pushes based on their talent, motivation, and willingness to work with the writers/bookers/other wrestlers. We've all got our favorites, sure. We all want to see them pushed. Something that irritates me, is that only one person at a time is gunning for the belt. Remember back in 2000 when Angle had the IC belt, and like three or four people were after him, and each other to get a shot at it? Now, there's no real sense of competition. Just one guy going after each belt, and everybody else stuck in nonsense. Make the belts the ultimate prize again. Longer title reigns would be better. Give people some motivation to try harder. Higher spot on the card means more money, right? First off, guys like Jim Ross need a serious kick in the head to straighten them out. This 'hosses first' mentality pisses a lot of us off, but it's got a deeper effect than that. If you're not 6'4" or above, forget getting a push. You're Euro level and down for the rest of your career. Today, these big guys are still pushed to the moon, while everyone else lingers. This isn't the Hogan era anymore. You can't have a big (or fat) heel squash a few jobbers, scream a lot, and use powerbombs, and expect them to get really over. It dosen't work anymore. The "big scary monster" concept is as laughable to me as the "vitamin taking, prayer saying face" like Hogan. If they're going to push a 'monster', he should have to be able to WORK. Kane can do that, which is why I give him credit. The Main Event problem. You've got guys like Rocky, ready and willing to help out. You've got guys like Austin, who don't want to look weak, much less job. Then there's HHH, who is 'using his backstage pull' to advance his career. *rolls eyes* The glut of ancient and unable to preform guys need to be cleared out. Taker and Hogan need to retire before the year ends. Austin's probably gone. Triple H needs time off to heal the injury, if he likes it or not. He can't preform worth shit as he is right now. Get him back in 2000 shape, and he gets his spot back. However, anyone elevated to the main event should damn well understand that spot isn't permenant. If they preform, it's theirs. But if they don't, or someone else needs rotated into that spot, then they'd damn well better move aside for a while, or OVW is waiting. Simply firing every lazy bastard and smark hated wrestler won't do the job. That's why these threads are completely worthless. It requires a little more thought than "FIRE BRADSHAW, HE SUCKS! PUSH BENOIT!" The problem goes deeper than that. Most of you should be smart enough to realize that cutting all those people would only wind up with four people getting pushed, and everybody else in the same place they are now. The roster dosen't need to change. The WWF does. -Shiro
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 The only one I would fire is X-Pac, just because he is an unprofessional shit who is not worth keeping around. When Austin acts like a jackass, at least he has value. Everyone else has value, even if they are just used as talent enhancement. X-Pac would too, but he would never do it, hence he gets his ass kicked to curb. I would give him the chance first though.
Guest benoitrulz4life Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 I think Crash hitting himself on the ropes trying to jump out of the ring on that one RAW has to do with it. I haven't seen him since.
Guest humongous2002 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 I would release the following if I was Vince: Rikishi Albert Bossman Haku Crash Hardcore Holly Hogan XPUNK Nash HBK Maven Any Tuff Enuff wannabe wrestlers(pay your dues dammit) JR Lawler Mark Henry Test Val Venis Cole Big Slow D'lo Regal Steven Richards Jackie Austin Godfather Billy Gunn Taker Tazz Bradshaw
