Guest Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Due to having to work at the old Best Buy, I haven't had a chance to see a RAW or Smackdown in about three weeks. Well, I had been hearing plenty of talk about HHH's pops waning and that he wasn't very over as a face. Well, tonight, his pop was huge, only rivaling that of Steve Austin. Even RVD didn't draw a bigger reaction than HHH tonight. It can be assumed that this is because HHH finally dumped Steph. It seems her natural heel heat was putting a dent in HHH's face heat. Maybe with her out of the way, HHH can go on a decent face run. We'll see.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted February 15, 2002 The fact is that before Monday, Triple H had no real reason to be a face. Hell, I don't even remember if he was friends or foes with Vince when he was last in the WWF. That's how many times the McMahon Family has turned. Now that Stephanie lied to him, and he's getting a divocrce from her, the fans have a reason to cheer for him. It's pretty simple when you think about it. Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 15, 2002 when he was injured, hhh was in the 2 man power trip under mcmahon. the night after he was injured though, vince and austin turned on hhh, setting up his face return. and the dumping of steph certainly would improve his face pop, as now there is no reason not to cheer for him. also im sure a lot of people relate to the situation where he dumped the manipulative, overbearing spouse. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 15, 2002 "Even RVD didn't draw a bigger reaction than HHH tonight" If you're a conspiracy theorist, realizing that Smackdown is taped, the WWF production crew simply sucked RVD's heat away. As for Trips, anyone who calls Steph a bitch to her face deserves a solid face pop.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 The best way to judge HHH's face pop, IMO will be at the PPV. Since it would be live. Although the WWF could pipe in crowd noise, for the most part they only use that for tape shows.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Here is the absolute fact: The day after the Rumble (which HHH won) HHH came out to interupt a Jericho promo and got very little reaction. Earlier in the show (curtain jerking 6 man tag) RVD got as loud of a reaction as he has ever gotten (Except when the crowd thought that he had won the title from Jericho). The next show is the Smackdown where the reports of audio editing on RVD started. hmmm..... Anyway. HHH hasn't been lighting the world on fire the way that the Face in the MAIN EVENT of WrestleMania should. I don't think that it's fair to say that he wasn't cheered because he was with Stephanie. He used EVERY opportunity to put her down and get a cheap pop. Like Tony said...we'll see at the PPV.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I think this has been discussed before, but it's clear that since Trips came back, RVD has been depushed BIG-Time. I really don't buy into the conspiracies myself, but this one seems too much of a coincidence. As for Trips, if his ringwork doesn't improve, he'll be moved down the food chain, because as smart as the Game is, history has shown us that there is always someone smarter. Guest The Shockmaster! Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Smackdown's crowdnoise was artificially juiced up. I heard tons of screaming yet saw an audience full of people just sitting there.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Damn, the plot thickens. Once again Vince is cutting off his nose to spite his face. I sometimes wonder if HHH is sleeping with Vince instead of Steph. It wouldn't surprise me.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Smackdown has had crowdnoise pumped in for a long time.

Guest theWCWRaider Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I think the fact that he is no longer with Stephanie does play a role, because I just can't cheer for anyone that is with Stephanie, b/c I want Stephanie to get the hell off my TV, and never return. The PPV will be a good measuring stick for HHH croud and pop wise, so we'll see. I don't know about all these theories, around RVD's heat, and HHH's return, but I have noticed the depushing of Van Dam, and after the NWO comes in, I'll notice it even more. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 15, 2002 'Smackdown has had crowdnoise pumped in for a long time." Right, but usually for the matches themselvesand guys like Rock and Austin certainly don't need the heat machines. Plus, why would the WWF ever give RVD a heat vacuum? This is beginning to suck on so many levels esp. since Trips is so deteriorated right now.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Sometimes the WWF pumps in crowd noise for guys entrances when they feel like they aren't getting the reaction they want.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I don't think they are going to de-push him anymore. He's too over for them to keep him off of Raw and Smackdown completely...so he may continue to curtain jerk and lower mid card it...but I don't see Jakked in his future. As bad as the Goldust feud is...it is the first real feud he's been given that may actually reach a blow off. That's a KIND of push...right?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 15, 2002 "That's a KIND of push...right? " Not if Goldust wins the feud.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Don't even joke about that.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 15, 2002 It won't surprise me if Goldust wins. what better way to kill the guys heat off for good than to job him out to some has-been. Oh wait, he already lost to UT, right?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 15, 2002 "Don't even joke about that. " I'm serious. You know the WWF lately.
Guest theWCWRaider Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Yeah, I think things can get worse for RVD, without him being taken off of Raw and Smackdown, losing the Golddust feud, would be a good start, or perhaps Nash will tell Vince McMahon that RVD would make a great Gobbledegooker 2k2. I don't think it will get that bad...but with Nash Hall HHH and Hogan all conspiring against someone, well you just don't know.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Oh wait, he already lost to UT, right? To his credit...RVD bumped his arse off to make taker look good in that match. One of the better Taker matches in recent memory...and that's because he let RVD control... If the taker is going to let his opponents control the match like he did at Vengeance...maybe there is still some use for him.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 15, 2002 'I'm serious. You know the WWF lately.' Lately? You mean for the last year, right? I think if they job RVD out, then the conspiracy theory should be in full effect 'cos there's no way I want him going into Mania fighting Dustin in the revenge match. End this feud NOW!
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I think Goldust will win the match at NWO. Then beat Edge for the I-C Title on Raw or Smackdown. Then RVD beats Goldust for the I-C Title at WM.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I'm going to make a point that I actually think is interesting for a change: The WWF KNOWS how over RVD is. Case in point: Remember how they jobbed him to Regal before Rumble...then Regal won the Rumble and they put RVD in the middle of the Edge/Regal feud for a couple of weeks? They did that to try and get people interested in that craptastic feud. They know what they have. I don't think we'll see RVD lose the Goldust feud...or get jobbed out...because the WWF will want to keep using him to rub his heat on other people.

Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 15, 2002 if rvd does lose at no way out, it will probably be a dq loss to the shattered dreams. there is no was that even the wwf would consider jobbing rob clean on ppv to goldust. im praying that this is only a single ppv fued. i hope we see some edge-rvd matches, i imagine those two could put on a *killer* ladder match. Guest HellSpawn Report post Posted February 15, 2002 BPS, my friend. I dont want to be rude, but every post you look more and more paranoid. Last year RVD was holded by the locker room because of his careless work, then it came that guy from 1wrestling, then it was Taker, and still he got a ME, now... is HHH. Austin, HHH, Rock, Jericho, Taker, the nWo, Vince, Flair. You know, not every one can be ME. And the WWF is not a promotion when you can gave a guy a title for 2 years. I mean, it looks like you really want to drop the HHH push, the nWo storyline, Vince/Flair angle, Jericho push and make RVD World champion for months, beating every one with Van Terminators. With all respect, get real.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 15, 2002 i dont know if it has anything to do with hhh, though there has definitely been a coincidence. also, i dont think bps was pushing for a long rvd world title reign, i think he just hates hhh that much. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 As a matter of fact: I presented a great way to use the NWO on another thread...so obviously I don't want to get rid of them. I consider the Jericho push to be the best push the WWF has given since Austin. I never once said that RVD should be Main Eventing. HHH should have his pushed dropped because he A. Isn't nearly the most over guy in the company (which is what the Main Event Face at WrestleMania should be) B. Isn't even close to being able to deliver the goods in the ring right now. (Call it Ring rust or added bulk) All of the things I said about RVD being depushed to coincide with HHH's arrival are facts. When someone is as over as he is...curtain jerking with Test is absolutely wrong. I have yet to see a crowd anywhere near as excited about a HHH match since his return as they were when they thought RVD won the title from Jericho. Your attack on me is completely unwarranted and poorly and inaccurately based. There is no bigger RVD hater on this board than Rasmus, and even he'll tell you that I have never stepped out of line with my appraisal of the RVD situation or what his place on the card SHOULD be. Do some fact checking before bringing the thunder...maybe then you won't fizzle out. Bitch.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 15, 2002 T'is true. I hate RVD, but there is definitely something fishy going on.
