the max Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 I'm looking for a good blade meat recipe and have been unable to find one. All I know is that a friend of my family used to bring over a crockpot of perfectly seasoned blade meat, we'd all take some chunks, put them on a portuguese roll and have some of the best slow cooked food ever. I've looked around in town, but everything is carribean or mexican as far as "exotic" foods go. No Portuguese restaurants or meat markets. So, I'm putting the call out because I'm really hoping to find at least the basics to a recipe that I can fine-tune. Ideally, I'd like to make it in my slow cooker/crockpot, but I'm mainly just looking for the spices and right cut of meat. Thank you.
Matt Young Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Oh. I thought for a moment that you were a cannibal who wanted to eat the Portuguese.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 I'm not Portugese, and this may not be exact, but I know Brazilian food and I know Spanish food, and I know Google, so I found this: http://www.portuguese-recipes.com/Pork%20C...la%20Recipe.htm and I think it's what you're looking for. Check out Pork Caciola, anything involving that. Sounds really good, at any rate. That recipe is even made in a crockpot as well (I might want to try this out). Tell me how it works out.
Darthtiki Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 My best friend is Portuguese and so I have her looking into the recipie
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 .. the investigation continues?
the max Posted February 24, 2007 Author Report Posted February 24, 2007 I tried that recipe from the website you gave me. It was good, not great. It hit the spot for now, but I'm really hoping that Darthtiki can hook us up with a better recipe.
