mister foozel 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2007 why would you need 5th gear when you're at a light anyway? but i suggest google for a vw forum or something like that
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2007 I really think it's the car's safe mode, which is something the car does when it has to say, limp home or to a service station when something goes wrong. It hinders your car so you don't make the problem worse. If there isn't a problem in the first place, take it to a VW mechanic for some diagnostics so you can figure out what's causing it to spontaneously think it's damaged. Perfxion 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 What Automatic car has a fifth gear? I seen D, D3, 2, 1; but never D5, ect. If you are at a light, the car should be in idol.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 There are many five speed automatic transmissions. Hell, six gears are becoming common and the latest full-size Lexus sedan has eight gears in its slushbox.
