The Buzz 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2007 I just saw a little blurb on a few sites that Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, and Ultimate Warrior are all appearing at the same New Jersey convention to sign autographs in May. What an unlikely group to appear no matter how far away their tables may be from one another. Also If there is already a comments thread that I missed when I looked feel free to delete. I just thought the thread could use one for appearances, and other notes.
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 FROM: http://wrestlingfigs.com/inner2.php?id=448...a0f2ccafdfd854d I'll admit that I went into this signing with a pessimistic outlook, the costs of certain things and the supposed reputation of the Ultimate Warrior. But I must say that all of the autographs I got today went really smoothly and I was very impressed. I was especially impressed with Ultimate Warrior and how he handled his autograph session. He was on time, he was very social and he made time for everyone that came up to him to chat. I got to chat with him for a couple of minutes and left very happy. For a man who supposedly "self-destructed" I didn't see one piece of evidence to back that claim. I also met the Iron Sheik and he was very nice and posed for photos with everyone. I managed to meet him right before the incident with Warrior and that itself was a scary moment because Sheik threw his coat down and called Warrior out for a fist fight. Warrior just stared as Sheik dropped a lot of F-bombs, it was broken up fairly quickly but I guess that's the world of pro wrestling in the fact that anything can happen. Bruno Sammartino was very social and he signed and posed for all of his fans. The line for Hulk Hogan wasn't that long by the time I got up to him. I was greeted by Jimmy Hart who is always cool to talk to and finally got to meet the Hulkster and chatted with him for a minute, got my picture signed and posed for a photo and decided to find the nearest White Castle before another battle royal started. Overall it was a very well run autograph signing and if anyone who reads this has the chance to meet any of these legends I highly recommend it. Joseph DeSario If anyone was lucky enough to get a picture of Warrior and Bruno together, I would love for you to email me a copy for my personal collection on Bruno Georgie [email protected] I also heard that Iron Sheik slapping Eric Simms should be on You Tube soon.... The Buzz 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 Another report from the convention, I don't know if anyone is interested in that type of stuff, but the thread seems to have gotten enough views. HI! MY NAME IS BEN, I ATTENDED THE SIGNINGS IN NJ TODAY!!!BRUNO SAMMARTINO, IRON SHEIK,AND HULK HOGAN WERE IN ATTENDANCE,THERE WAS A VERY BAD INCIDENT!!! BY FAR THE MOST FRIENDLY WERE BRUNO AND THE WARRIOR,THE HULKSTER COULD NOT BE FRIENDLY BECAUSE OF THE PROMOTERS, BUT WARRIOR WAS DRESSES IN A SUIT AND WAS VERY FRIENDLY,HE TOOK THE TIME TO TALK TO EVERYONE THAT WAS IN HIS LINE,AND POSED FOR PICTURES,THE WARRIOR LINE BY FAR OUTDREW HOGANS,WELL THE INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED WAS WHILE I WAS WAITING IN LINE TO GET WARRIOR TO SIGN MY ITEMS,I WAS AT THE BACK OF THE LINE,AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I NOTICED BRUNO SAMMARTINO COME OVER AND TALK TO WARRIOR THE EMBRACED AND POSED FOR A RARE PHOTO OP!!THEN BRUNO WENT HIS TABLE,WHICH WAS ABOUT 7 TABLES AWAY.WHEN IT WAS MY TURN TO GET WARRIOR TO SIGN,HE WAS VERY NICE ASKED MY NAME,THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE IRON SHEIK AND HIS PROMOTER CAME BY,THE SHEIK JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO,BUT THE WARRIOR TOLD HIM,TO GO AWAY,HE HAS NOTHI NG TO SAY TO THE SHEIK,HE DISGRACED HIM,AND HAS TALKED BAD ABOUT HIM,THE WARRIOR IN A NICE WAY TOLD HIM TO GO BACK TO HIS TABLE,AT THIS POINT THE SHEIK SAY HE WAS SORRY FOR THINGS HE SAID IN THE PAST,WARRIOR SAID APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED,AT THIS POINT THE WARRIORS PROMOTERS WERE TELLING THE SHEIKS PROMOTER TO GET THE IRON SHEIK OUTTA THERE,THE SHEIK STARTED TO BERATE THE WARRIOR,AND HIS PROMOTER,HE IN TURNED SLAPPED HIS PROMOTER IN THE FACE VERY HARD,SAYING WHY THE PROMOTER BROUGHT HIM TO THE WARRIOR ,IF WARRIOR WAS GOING TO BE LIKE THAT,I STEPPED BACK FROM THE WARRIOR THINKING THEY WERE GOING TO GO AT IT,BUT WARRIOR CALLED FOR SECURITY AND THE SHEIK WAS ESCORTED BACK TO HIS TABLE,THEN THE WARRIOR APOLOGIZED TO ME AND ALL,HE SAID IT WAS OVER THINGS SHEIK AS SAID TO HIM IN THE PAST!!!BY FAR WARRIOR AND BRUNO WERE THE NICEST AT THIS SIGNINGS,ITS UNFORTUNATE THE SHEIK HAD TO DO THAT,BUT IT WAS MY FEELING THE SHEIK WAS UPSET AT HIS PROMOTER,FOR SETTING HIM UP TO MAKE HIM LOOK BAD THIS OCCURED IN FRONT OF ABOUT 100 PEOPLE IN FRONT OF WARRIORS TABLE. Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 I feel bad for the Sheik. It's obvious he's an alcoholic and it's just sad.
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 I loved how once there was no one holding the iron sheik back, he just turns and walks away anyway. Earlier in the day I guess Bruno and Warrior had a pleasant meeting. To bad no one puts up youtube videos of stuff like that.

The Buzz 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 So just how much will the pay-per-view actually help ROH. Will it gain an extra couple thousand fans, or be a waste of money.

JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 http://cpmunk.ytmnd.com/ Does anyone have any idea where the picture came from? Punk's character and gimmick have been parodied by the wrestling federation CHIKARA with the character CP Munk, the straight edge chipmunk. The character is simply a chipmunk mascot costume which includes references to Punk such as X marked wrist tape, a Pepsi logo on the costume's left shoulder, and a high-pitch version of Punk's best-known independent circuit theme song Miseria Cantare - The Beginning, as performed by the band AFI. That's from Wikipedia. He wrestled at the August 13, 2005 Negative Balance show.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Well all right then, thanks for the info. Weird people.
Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Wasn't CP Munk played by Necro Butcher? And Joker played someone. I think it was Colt Cubunny.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 Yeah it was Necro and Joker. Here's a match with two of the ROH trainees vs Munk and Cubunny. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DWt8JPc4IYI
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 Yeah, the backstory was Necro had beaten them up in the Tag Tournament the year before. CP Munk was used a couple of times before, Necro was only CP Munk for that one match.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 Jimmy Jacobs on a date with Lacey Day 1. Jimmy Jacobs is all kinds of good news. Roll on Day 2.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 It might be a very long time before we ever see a storyline as brilliant as Jimmy Loves Lacey.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 I'm really interested in where it goes now. It seems logical that Jimmy finally wins Lacey over, but it just feels all wrong. It's amazing that the angle has been going on now for what, a year and a half now and still seems fresh. It's a testament to how well it's been booked. It's made Jimmy a real player in ROH. I heard rumblings that before the angle took off he was going to be dropped. Funny how far removed Jimmy is from that happening now.

I heard rumblings that before the angle took off he was going to be dropped. Funny how far removed Jimmy is from that happening now. What really makes it work is that this has Jimmy's work all over it. From the fantastic videos, promos (expecially the AS3 promo, which might have been the greatest promo in ROH history if it weren't for Punk's rant on Raven at WrestleRave) and most importantly, the amazing brawls with Cabana and Whitmer. The cage match is the far ahead leader for my 2007 MOTY selection right now because not since Tully and Magnum have I've really felt two people hated each other and escalated it in the process of some truly sickening shots. There are some mumblings that another girl gets involved and leads to a jealous Lacey angle. Who knows? This is one of those rare times where as a fan you just stick back and don't even want to imagine what is next because it'll blow you away.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 As long is they avoid the obvious twists of Lacey teasing falling for Jimmy only to turn him down yet again or Jimmy suddenly deciding he doesn't want Lacey after all, I'll be happy.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2007 the AS3 promo, which might have been the greatest promo in ROH history What was the promo about?
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2007 I sent you a transcript but for those who haven't seen it, you should do yourself a service and find it. While not quite as great as the ASEIII promo, the follow-up promo the next night prior to the blow-off match was also very well done.
The Flamboyance 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2007 Yeah, Jacobs is currently my favorite ROH character. I was going to buy ASE3 and SOH2 at the ppv taping but I couldnt afford it so I'm downloading them instead. I keep hearing about the promo and I can't wait to hear it. Also, I'm dying to see the cage match. Right now, I'm up to FYF: Finale and just finished watching the Falls Count Anywhere Match between him and Whitmer. It was incredibly brutal. It REALLY sucks that he won't be wrestling for some time.
DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2007 I think Nigel McGuiness' lariat against Jimmy Rave at FYF: Finale has to be one of the grossest lariats in the history of mankind. *RANDOM QUESTION* How is that ROH can't have TNA guys booked, but IWA-MS can?
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2007 It's partly due to the PPV issue with ROH. TNA don't want their guys working for companies with DVD promotion, apparantly. Or DVD promotion through Highspots it would seem. They've been pulled from ROH and also Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, who are with Highspots. IWA:MS sells their DVDs through Smartmark Video, which apparantly isn't a problem to TNA seeing as SMV don't stock their DVDs.
