JR claims Austin's carrer in WWE is Over

Recommended Posts

They just said on Velocity that this is not a work or a "ratings-getter."

Granted, they didn't say it with the grave tone that JR announced Owen's injury wasn't a work, but there you go...

Quote from Vince on Confidential:

"The door is NOT open for him to return...I never say never in this business, but I don't know how I could ever do business with him."

Quote from JR:

"Stone Cold's not going to be on Raw again, as far as I know."

Take that for what it's worth.

I get it. Vince makes it seem like austin's not coming back. They keep him out for a while. Then when he comes back they rock the nostalgia factor. Nostalgia = Ratings~! The genius of WWE.

For Austin to come back now, or hell even in a few months, JR would come off looking like a liar and so would the entire WWE.

In my opinion, they already look like liars.  Remember when Austin walked out the first time (right after Mania) and they said he was just "taking some much needed time off"?  After he walked out the second time, they finally admitted that he wasn't just taking some time off, and that he walked out because of issues he had with the company.  And the people at WWE wonder why we trust online journalists more than we trust them.

Also, regarding Austin and NWA-TNA:  I don't know if Austin would be willing to work for the Jarretts, and I don't know if the Jarretts would be willing to sign him.  But none of that is relevant, because Austin can't work for the Jarretts, whether he wants to or not.  He's no longer a member of WWE's talent roster, but he is still under contract with WWE, and therefore can't work anywhere else.  (At least not in this country.  Another country, like Japan, may be an option, but I don't know for sure.  I don't know the details of his contract, and I'm no legal expert.  But I'm pretty sure Nash was working in Japan while he was still under his old WCW contract.)  And I don't think they're going to give him his release any time soon (provided this isn't a work, and at this time I don't believe it is), because if anyone could turn an upstart promotion into a serious competitor for WWE, it's Austin.

well take this for what its worth.  austin's bio is still up on wwe.com.  usually one of the first things done after somebody is fired/released is that their bio is removed.  austin's hasnt, so the possibility that this is a work is still well and truly open.  also, i hear the interviews were taped on thurs for confidential, and so a lot could have changed in regards to the situation in the interval period.
