It would make no sense for Michaels to say "Yea, Rock is stealing Triple H's spotlight", when Rock and Triple H are both faces and both on SD!, nowhere near the NWO. Not a work. Rock will always be a bigger face than HHH For One of the top heels (HBK) to say that one of the top babyfaces (HHH) is his friend is bizarre enough. But for him to go on and say that the top babyface is stealing his friend's (another face) spotlight is a move that just totally goes over all the people in the arena's head. What was the point? Personally I treat all of them as just that, rumours, and tend not to believe them unless they show up on TV. The "squashing" stuff is another matter since that is a judgement call on what is shown, there's nothing to believe or disbelieve, just an opinion to be formed. I can't believe that amidst the Austin mess, you're debating whether the dumb shit that comes out of Michaels' mouth is a work or not. Let's say that it is - let's say that HBK & HHH aren't friends anymore. That would only mean that two things are true: 1. HBK said what he did about the Rock to get back into HHH's good graces. 2. Friends or not, you can bet the bank that HBK was only voicing what HHH could not. My personal take is that HHH was complaining about how Rock's "stealing his spotlight", either directly to Michaels or to another Cliq member, and HBK felt he'd use it in his promo. The fact that it was MANAGMENT APPROVED is absolutely sickening, a true sign that the boss is on the Cliq's side (or at the least, playing favorites), but I've talked about all of this before. As for HHH saying bad things in the past about HBK....HHH is the ULTIMATE asshole. He'd talk shit about his own mother if doing so was politically justified. I agree they didn't have a hand in Austin or Rocky leaving, but somehow, somewhere, the Kliq is at work... Seriously though, the next obvious "target" is Booker T. I really feel sorry for the guy by now. He was going good, then he is made to look like a fool by a returning Rock (because goodness, we couldn't have Rocky lose his returning match... heavens no!). Flash forward to some time later, after the failed Alliance angle. Flair is a bad guy now, and he wants Austin to get beat up. Austin no-sells the entire RAW roster, and pins Booker T, in what was arguably Booker's highest profile match since his WCW title match against The Rock the summer before. Booker T is made to look like even more of a fool... he can't get the job done even with the entire fucking roster interfering (forgive my uncharacteristic coarse language, but honestly...). So, Booker T is in the nWo, they're mad at him, he's kinda mad at them, the crowd is behind him... who should come in but Shawn Michaels? Everyone loves Shawn Michaels... Booker who? Shawn Michaels gets the huge face pop two weeks in a row, superkicks Booker out of the nWo to no reaction... Booker who? And THAT, my friends, is a text-book burial. I think that's worse than Jericho's burial because at least people still care about him and bitch about it... Booker got buried so bad even the smarks don't give a damn about him. Sakura made a number of very great points and didn't come off markish at all.....and for your reply, you label her an HHH mark and say that you'll ignore her and any other "HHH marks" from now on. Well, fuck off, asshole, because if you're THAT insecure that you can't even give her a decent reply and instead label her as a "mark" when she made a lot of very smart and insightful statements, then there is only one mark here- and that's YOU, buddy. -Okay, now onto the HHH/HBK thing. I was the one who originally said HHH and HBK aren't friends anymore, and it's very clear that if you go to any "insider", they will you tell you that. Meltzer keeps printing it in the Wrestling Observers, for one. The RAW thing was that HBK still likes HHH- HHH is mad at HBK, so this was sort of HBK's way of trying to make nice-nice with his former friend, on-air. I doubt it worked, because really if you take the time to read the inside information, Triple H is almost considered staff at this point (whenever you read any inside info, it's always "Triple H and the Road Agents are telling the Smackdown roster") because of his relationship with Stephanie.
