Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted June 18, 2002 I'm pushing Bradshaw and Xpac out of the company by depushing the hell out of them. I've got them both jobbing about 3 matches on every Heat. I'm gonna rename one of the developmental guys Big McLargeHuge and push him to the moon.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted June 18, 2002 You know what? I had a bunch of problems trying to run a backyard show too. It kept giving me an Overflow 6 error or something to that effect and crashing on me. That's why I'm running NEPW now.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted June 19, 2002 My first backyard show had an attendance of 13. Now in my ROH (medium) fed, the big feuds are: Paul Heyman-Bret Hart 87 Chris Candido-Johnny Smith 73 Rey Misterio-Randy Orton 75 Masato Tanaka-Nova 57 Mike Awesome/Deacon Batista-SAT
Guest Ash Ketchum Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Sigh...Chris, I made the mistake of starting up an SWF fed, but not getting rid of it for my game with NWA, so...now, congratulations. Chris Raynor and Ash Ketchum are the two top stars of Ring of Honor! Dammit all, I gave everyone really nice stats, too. Hey, here's a question. If I'm playing a group without a TV deal, how the hell do I book shows, eh? THANK YOU, EDWIN! BTW, HHH was feuding with Austin and is now injured after his HIAC match. Out 12 months. That only sucks because he was my top heel. Hurricane is SUPER-over in the WWF. He's currently IC champion. RVD's feuding with Taker. Austin is now a sadistic heel (better than after X7), and I brought in Goldberg to feud with him. And Booker T is KOTR, defeating Scott Hall in the finals. ALL HAIL THE ROYAL SPINAROONIE, SUCKA!!!! Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I'm about to fire Hogan. I was going to use him to push Steve Corino even further (Corino had 87 over), but one match dropped Corino 9 points. Yick. Right now, Jarrett's champion, Shamrock is chasing him (three-month feud a month in, heat already at 89), and Corino, Rey, and Taka are tearing up the upper-midcard. I've allied Jerry Lynn, Devon Storm (renamed Crowbar~!), and Jeff Jarrett. Psicosis was huge over as my cruiserweight champion, but he got hurt in a ladder match with Crowbar and is out for 3 months. Oh well. I started a tag division, but it's been lackluster so far, so I might give it a mercy killing, though it does give midcarders something to do. I also picked up Scoot Andrews. Damn good undercard wrestler. I'm also surprised at how good AJ Styles and Scott Hall have been for me. Good enough to get a TV deal with both UPN and Fox. I've found that the best way to get my guys over and happy is to just put them in good matches with clean finishes. The entire basis of my fed is just damn good wrestling with some promos and backstage stuff--I figure that since this game doesn't let you do really complex stories, they're not really worth trying to create anyway. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Can you actually book tournaments or do you have to just pretend it's a tournament? I have tried tournaments before, but I owuld just have multiple matches with the winners facing each other. I don't know if the backyard fed is supposed to have a training camp, but mine does and I sold the facillities for $80,000. I guess I'll take out a loan, but I will probably be in debt for a long ass time. Well, I'm about to continue the arduous task of trying to run a backyard fed. It's hard but it's fun because the booking is simple and the roster is small.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted June 19, 2002 The backyward fed shouldn't have a training camp. You must of added it when you played around with the editor. I think you have to make your own tournaments. EWD 9000 used to have a mini (2 round) tourney.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Note to everyone: Don't try to do a mixed tag to build heat for a feud between two wrestlers with valets. It sucks down everyone's heat, big time. And hey: I have a training camp, but how do I, uh, use it?
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Note to everyone: Don't try to do a mixed tag to build heat for a feud between two wrestlers with valets. It sucks down everyone's heat, big time. Yeah, because none of the female valets sell anything. And hey: I have a training camp, but how do I, uh, use it? When you sign people, go to where it says what level you are signing them to and sign them to TRAINING CAMP. This mostly only works with young guys who are in the jobber or opener level. Guest Kingpk Report post Posted June 19, 2002 A tip to everyone playing as WWE(F) Set up a Jericho-Hogan feud and have them talk every show with the occasional tag match/ambush thrown in. It WILL draw huge in a PPV blowoff. Now it's time to make RVD into a champion.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Yeah, because none of the female valets sell anything. Yes.. this is true. It was Dawn Vs. Trish and Dawn no-sell everything. My tag champs... Benoit and Eddie are having a huge feud with 2 members of Team Canada (Jericho & Storm). I think at the upcoming PPV Benoit will turn on Eddie and... join Team Canada! SWERVE!! Then, I can set up a Eddie-Benoit feud. Triple H is feuding with Rhyno... I had Rhyno go over cleanly in a HIAC over him because the bastard wouldn't take a sick bump. Like the HHH in real life, he'll get his clean win back over Rhyno at the PPV to end that feud. I think this will lead to Rhyno and Brock teaming up... Booker T. and Brock are having a pretty good feud... And... in two shows I turned Jeff Hardy heel on Matt! BWHAHAHAHAHA! Hardyz feud! My highest feud is STILL RVD-UT... I think I'll have RVD lose to UT at the PPV, but get his win back at the upcoming PPV cleanly for the title and to end that feud. Then, I'll start a RVD-Rock one. I'll update later. Has anyone accidently booked what they had in mind for Raw accidently on Heat (or the name you picked)? I did, and I was pissed. And manly, I believe you have to "pretend" they have a tourny option and book all the winners you want to win and such.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Has Scott broken put the hot pokers for anyone yet? I got two for booking a Buck Naked match in my first XPW card.

Guest treble charged Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Am I the only one who finds it disturbing that Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson both refuse to wrestle in Bra & Panties matches, but Jazz will do it no problem?
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I will never get the women in this game. It is like with Beulah. I set up an angle where she strips Trish down to her bra & panties, and she finds that degrading, yet, if I turn it around and have Trish strip her instead, then she does it no questions asked. *shrug* On a side note, I am really beginning to understand why Vince takes so much joy in raiding other company's talent then burying it. A few times I raided a few indy feds, just so I can sign a few guys to developmental deals. Sure, I signed a couple of guys just to say I signed a main eventer from a fed, then made him rot in my developmental league. Of course, I was probably helping the other federation in the long run since the two main eventers I did pick up from XPW and, I believe, CZW, absolutely suck. At least some of the midcarders I swiped may end up being good cruiserweights and maybe even more if they get over. I also picked up a few more duds out of spite when I was rebuffed by someone else, but maybe they can be cruiserweight jobbers or something.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I just downloaded it...it's a lot better then promotion wars...but it's missing SO many indy names. Where are the Briscoes? Ric Blade? Nick Mondo? Nick Berk? There is a CZW fed with only a couple of guys in it. I'm playing WWE right now just so I can get use to things...I'm having Brock kill everyone...he destroyed Trish and Steph after a boobie showing contest...heh
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I think I'm about to learn the value of a good old fashioned ham-and-egger. I have a small roster, so what I think I'm going to do with my bacyard fed is just bring people in with those 6 month verbal agreements and get rid of them after one show. What I'm going to try to do is job them out so that I can get my main stars over. I think I made a mistake by trying to bring in a female wrestler because while she is the most over person in my fed, nobody wants to job to her. I also am going to try to go the NWA route and build a Ric Flair clone. I have a guy who can sell his ass of and his maxed out charisma, so I'm trying to get him over as a face before I push him as a Main Event heel. He's not over yet, but I am going to try getting him over without making him a Rocky Maivia.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I'm trying to make NWA TNA just that, a T&A promotion. In my first show, all but one match was either a B&P or Buck Naked match (Missy Hyatt and Tammy Sytch are the only ones I can get to agree to do that one). In the ME, Jeff Jarrett won the NWA title in a high incident match against Tim Moxley (who I re-named Tim Moysey, of course).
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted June 19, 2002 By the way, remember art_vandelay's "FNK" idea? I'm using that in here! Can you say WWE Undisputed Champion Sho FuNaKi? Oh yeah!
Guest The Voices In Your Head Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I've been having a blast playing with NWA: TNA. I signed a bunch of WWE people after they were fired [Hogan, to put others over, Paul Heyman, Stacy Keibler, Kevin Nash, & Big Show] I put Keibler with Danny Doring and pushed Doring to an upper mid-card heel [because I couldn't sign Roadkill] and Keibler actually gave an interview that was 93 %. I've lost my champion, The Sandman [who I stole from XPW] to an injury, so he'll be gone TEN MONTHS. So I gave the belt to Kevin Nash, who was the only other big name I had, as Nash could job the belt to Goldberg or if I'm desperate, Hogan. Has anybody else lost a few wrestlers to rehab??? I lost both Jeff Jarrett and Jerry Lynn, right when Lynn's feud with Steve Corino was starting to get heat. Another question: what's the worst match all of you have had so far? I signed Homeless Jimmy as a jobber, and for the hell of it, I jobbed him to Hogan, and it got me a DUD. The whole match was a sloppy bulldog and the legdrop, but my road agents told me Jimmy no sold EVERYTHING Hogan did.
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I'm playing as ROH, and for some reason, despite having most of the top indy talent (The SAT, Backseat Boyz, Jayson Reign, Reckless Youth) top international talent (Jody Fleisch, Alex Shane, Robbie Brookside), ex-WCW cruisers (Lash Leroux, EZ Money, Elix Skipper, Kid Romeo) a dominating heel stable (Justin Credible, Bull Buchanan, Mike Awesome, Deacon Bautista-"The New Apocolypse"), the APA, and some other quality WWE lowcard talent (Steven Richards, Chris Harvard) I can't pull past a 1.8 TV rating, a .26 PPV buyrate, a ***1/4 match, and my feud heat tops out at 73 (Fleisch/Awesome and Fleisch/Deacon) So much for the smark cry of QUALITY WRESTLING=RATINGS, eh?
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Good finishes and feuds do a ton for ratings. The best match ratings I've gotten so far have been from matches between AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn, and Low Ki and TAKA Michinoku. Both are pulling 85-88% match ratings on a regular basis, so I can't wait to see what the PPV blow-offs due. Long feuds between wrestlers who can bring it in the ring = surefire victory. I managed to pick up ANOTHER TV deal from Fox, so now I've got UPN on Tuesday and Fox on Friday and Saturday. If anyone offers you a third show, take it, and just use it like it's Heat. I've also found that it doesn't pay to fill all your show segments for every show unless you have good things there. Every low-rated segment brings down your card rating, which in turn brings down your TV ratings and the wrestlers' heat. Basically, I put 8-9 segments on my Tuesday/Friday shows, and usually 6 on the Saturday one. Final tip from this rambling session: if you're running NWA or really, any of the other feds besides WWE, pick up Scoot Andrews and Nick Dinsmore. Both have great abilities, and I've gotten them from 50 over to 70 each after a short tag run, a Dinsmore heel turn, and some convincing victories and showings, all in the space of about a month and a half. Of course, I've jobbed Scott Hall out so much that he's about to be worthless.... ...but that's what releases are for. God bless verbal contracts.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted June 19, 2002 How the hell do I build up heat for fueds? I can't get Rock/Angle or Austin/Eddie past 86. If a fued isn't at 100 heat wise, someone bitches that it killed their heat or image. HHH refused to work with Booker T, so I demoted his ass to upper-midcard and promoted Book to Main event. Running a fed is harder than I thought.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Where are the Briscoes? Ric Blade? Nick Mondo? Nick Berk? Use the editor. As for the Buck Naked match, Sytch and Hyatt are the only two who agree. Even St. Claire found it degrading.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 If a fued isn't at 100 heat wise, someone bitches that it killed their heat or image. That's not true. Hennig feuded with Nova, lost the blowoff and didn't lose any heat. Their feud peaked at 81. Not every feud can reach 100, it depends on what wrestlers you have in it. For example, no matter what I did with Hennig and Nova the feud never went above 81.
Guest Caliban Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Well, I just had my first 5-star match... HHH vs Kurt Angle in a Hell In A Cell match at Fully Loaded (Vengeance). HHH did the job, though he wouldn't take a sick bump and is complaining that his image was ruined by the match. Never mind HHH, I'm about to turn you heel and job Hogan out to you... *evil laugh*
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Well, to update... I had my first PPV... the top feuds were: RVD Vs. UT (90 Heat) Thrill Seekers (Storm/Jericho) Vs. The Radicals (90 Heat) Brock Lesnar Vs. Booker T. (90 Heat) Kurt Angle Vs. Edge (81 Heat) Triple H Vs. Rhyno (86 Heat) All those matches got 4 Star ratings... I WANT A FIVE STAR RATING, DAMNIT! Anyways, RVD won the World Title from UT, and he'll be feuding with Jericho. Storm/Jericho won the Tag Titles from the Radicals, and after the match Benoit turned on Eddie and join Team Canada. SWERVE! Booker T. beat Brock thanks to Rhyno... with will lead to Rhyno Vs. Brock feud. HHH beat Rhyno thanks to Brock to repay Booker T. And, Angle beat Edge cleanly in a First Blood Match.. All those were ****. I think one was even ****1/4. When a feud has ton of heat, and you do a match the rating will go up hugely. The crowd will be into it and everything. I really don't know what feuds I'm going to do now except for the ones I have planned out, but I'll think of something.
