Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I downloaded the Japan update, but how do I get it into the game? I unzipped it, but the update still isn't showing up when I play. You need to copy all the .dat files into EWR's "Data" folder (you might want to keep a copy of the original files somewhere, though). However, it will only effect new games you start after that point. Existing saved games won't be effected.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Pinnacle- You are a genius. You have found like 3 ways to screw the game out of money already. I guess sometimes it PAYS to be cheap... Yeah... I know that sucked, too.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Hopefully Adam puts in an Import/Export feature in the update so we don't have to start our games all over again.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Do you guys know if it's possible to have more than 1 saved game at a time? I was doing relatively well with the WWE, then decided to try XPW, and now my WWE game is gone. I had broken up Heyman/Lesnar, and put Lesnar and Sheldon Benjamin together as the Minnesota Stretching Crew, and had them feuding with the Island Boyz Lance Storm and Billy Kidman were my tag team champs, feuding with the Gays (ChuckaBilly) The Hardyz were feuding with Christian/Justin Credible, but I turned Christian on Justin, and reformed E&C, Justin and Tommy Dreamer became "The Survivors" and were going well v. E&C. Kurt was the Champ, he was feuding with HHH, Benoit and Jericho were feuding, and I fired Austin. I demoralized X-Pac, by sending him to the minors and back repeatedly, until his morale was at 0. Then, I jobbed him to Regal 5 times, and went to fire him, but he refused to even negotiate with me, and was happy to leave. What other patches do they have for the game? Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted June 24, 2002 As I have this on both my computer at work, and at home, I'm now no longer bored, ever. At home I'm running quite a good NWA-TNA, with Rey Mysterio Jr., Konnan, AJ Styles, New Jack, and Steve Corino as it's top stars. New Jack and Corino actually are the most over in the company, with New Jack as a heel and Corino as a face, and the two feud over the World Title. I had Vader in to feud with Corino, but he proved to be a problem, so I jobbed him to AJ Styles, sent him to my minor league, then brough him back, jobbed him to Styles some more (I created an NWA TV Title, and Styles has it), until Vader was happy to leave. At work, I was doing ROH, but I got bored with it fast. Maybe cuz I don't like RF Video much, or maybe because I didn't have enough to work with. I just downloaded the update, so I may open up a new ROH, or maybe something else, this time with some Japanese talent to increase the workrate. Or I could just take over WWE, and bring some overseas guys in to "invade"...hmm..

Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted June 24, 2002 no i'm using ROH also but replaced Feinstein's name with Bob Barnett just because. Then Barnett retired and the company was taken over by Jim Crockett. Also, prior to starting the game, I imported Booker T, Kawada, and Kobashi and Mutoh as my main stars. and I renamed Erin Bray as Ricky Steamboat as I can shape him into the next great superstar! Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I was thinking about putting WCW in there, and then going into the wrestlers data files & switching the WCW guys back to WCW (to get around those pesky WWE contracts)
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted June 24, 2002 that's a solid idea but the key wold be to prevent it from getting bought out and with that bloated roster and payroll, good fucking luck!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I'd bump up the finances to rival the WWE's. After all, they had AOL/Time Warner backing it.
Guest swan Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Is Tommy Fiero included in the update? LOL. I had a fued between Alex Wright and Big Show, major heat 94. Good thing I finished it before PCW went belly up. I using MLW now. Is it a good idea to bump up production , mercandise, and advertising right off the bat?
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I'm using MLW too and I'm in December. So far my production is still at 60% and my merchandise and advertising are at $500,000. I've got some expensive talent though. If you go with cheaper guys you could probably bump it up.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted June 25, 2002 On my WWE game, I fired: HHH Taker Test Bradshaw Lesnar Albert a whole bunch of jobbers. My feuds: Rock/Angle-100 Jericho/RVD-92 Booker/Benoit-98 Edge/Eddy-94 I also hired La Parka! In the editor I moved Austin to free agents too, so I don't have him. Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Pinnacle, you been running the Backyard fed for a while, so how did your first show compare to mine... [Winners In Bold] Survivor Series Match: Billy Fives/Mikey Whipwreck/Steve Armstrong/Redd Dog vs. Smash/Shooter Schultz/Hector Guerrero/Brooklyn Brawler (33% DUD) The Maestro vs. Tony Jones (32% DUD) Dick Togo vs. Kenny (29% DUD) DRAW Mean Street Posse vs. Van Hammer/Hack Meyers/Ace Darling (36% 1/2*) Headbanger Thrasher vs. Jacquelin (39% 1/2*) Joe E. Legend vs. Jayson Reign vs. Blitzkrieg vs. Chad Collyer (49% *1/2) Villano VI & V vs. PG-13 vs. High Velocity vs. SAT (40% 1/2*) Atsushi Onita vs. Phil LaFon vs. Seven (51% **) I might get my second show done sometime tonight also. BTW, I had 19 people attended bringing in $95. Not bad considering I ended the month with a $5,000 profit.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Stay away from the matches with alot of participants unless you have top notch wrestlers. I think my overall card ratings were peaking in the mid 50's, but I haven't played the game since Friday. I am about to start over now that I know what it takes to get promoted. You should also try having people with good charisma give interviews. Those interviews tend to get a 70% and up rating. You should sign Erin Bray and keep him around for awhile. Make sure that you sign him for at least a year, and be careful when releasing people. I released him by accident and was forced to turn my federation into an all women's soft porn federation. Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted June 25, 2002 I am doing awesome in the WWA lately. I am just about to go Global. I have to just get like 22% more. My biggest problem at the moment is that whenever I click into sponsors, the game freezes. I think I still have sponsors for at least a year more, so it is not THAT big of a problem and I still would make money without sponsors, but, when the time comes to getting new ones, I hope that the problem will fix itself. Another big hurdle I ran into was the fact that Erin Bray was injured for a year right before his big blowoff match with Scott Steiner. I loved hearing that one from the game. Now, he is pissed and wants to leave. I cannot wait until he FINALLY returns, so I get his morale back up, I hope. I worked his injury out by merely pushing half the roster to the top. Now, I have a heel heavy upper midcard with a few assorted faces in there. All of my faces with the exception of JR Ryder seem to lack that all important charisma opponent. Luckily, NWATNA screwed up and fired Vanessa for some odd reason, so I picked up her and 86 charisma to help manage guys like Sean Casey and Xavier in hopes of getting them over, which she has helped do. I was also able to buyout a few companies, as I took out PCW and XPW. Both were pretty useless when it came to guys though. PCW had James Maritato who has like 100 technical skill and can carry most anyone to a high match rating, I just need to get him over for the crowd rating will be high as well. They also had a guy who I stuck in my training camp. He has 85 charisma, and he seems to be developing some technical skill, it is just getting him enough skill to be a productive part of my league. I also have a bunch of others interesting prospects there, like Craig Beckham who has 91 charisma. They just utter crap for wrestling skill. XPW was utterly useless when it came to wrestlers. I hired Kaos, Nick Dinsmore, and Rob Conway, and some other guy from there. Dinsmore and Conway seem to be getting over quite well, and they seem to have just enough charisma to be interesting enough in promos. So far, CZW, PWO, PCW, XPW, and MECW have gone under so far. It looks like the big three will end up being WWE, XWF, and the WWA in my game. XWF seems to be doing great in my game. Out of curiosity, what purpose do Commissioner serve? I hired some charismatic jobber to be mine, but, besides going on "power trips" he has done nothing. It seems like such a useless feature. Also, anyone know an effective way to get feuds over 90 heat? I seem to be able to get any feud to 90 heat, but nothing above there. I am just wondering what component I seem to missing to getting them any more than that. It gets a tad frustrating because I was able to do it in the WWE games I had, but I cannot do it here for some odd reason.

Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Also, anyone know an effective way to get feuds over 90 heat? I'm not totally sure, but I know that I managed to pull 96 heat out of Ken Shamrock and Steve Corino, and they were at 95 when I first chose to start the feud. Shamrock is over 89 and Corino 90, so I think that has something to do with it. The more over the guys in the feud are, the more over the feud itself is, as long as you build it well. Avoid complicated things, like multiple attacks, and if guys have high charisma, have them verbally attack each other a lot. Go with some clean wins, a cheating win for the heel, maybe a DQ win for the face, and I get some surprisingly good results from really good no-contests. A moderate stip match here and there can help. Just don't get too fancy, and I'd recommend avoiding backstage angles too, because even with my team of 4 writers of 90 talent, angles almost always suck heat from my guys and go over a lot less well than an interview. A Steve Corino promo will get a 93 rating, whereas a backstage face-to-face between him and Shamrock will get 80 if I'm lucky--upper 60's is more likely. Has anyone entirely figured out which stip matches work best for which abilities? Obviously hardcore, table, and last man standing seem to work for brawlers, and submission for technical guys. Ladder seems to be the ideal choice for speed guys, but I'm still having trouble figuring out where cage and ironman fall into it. Thoughts?
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted June 25, 2002 I started doing MLW, and I got a letter in my inbox saying that Eric Bischoff bought the company, and is now my new boss. Has this happened to anyone else, and does anything major happen (can he "fire" me, etc.) The company is off to a decent start. I've got a lot of cheap and young talent. I reformed Demolition and The Pit Bulls, got Jason Lee and Derrick King as The Suicide Blondes, put Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo back together, and put Doring and Roadkill together in hopes of building a decent tag division. I've got Shane Douglas and Rey Mysterio Jr. feuding over the MLW Title, while Hugh Morrus, Steven Richards, Vampiro, La Parka, New Jack and Justin Credible make up the main event/upper midcard scene. On my work comp, I'm just starting a WWA. We'll see how that goes. A quick question:What are some of the highest recommendations of available talent on the game? I randomly hired New Jack as a main event heel for my NWA (that I deleted) and had him feuding with Corino over the belt, and got anywhere from 85%-92% ratings for the storyline. Considering New Jack as a talent sucks, I was quite surprised. Oh, and if you use the "interview with worker(s) and manager" scenario, it's just the manager talking. I had Doring and Roadkill, with Torrie Wilson, feuding with Lenny, Lodi and Joel Gertner. I made the mistake of putting Doring/Roadkill in that scenario, which meant Torrie talked, and that killed the rating for that segment.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted June 25, 2002 A quick question:What are some of the highest recommendations of available talent on the game Well, as mentioned in this thread, Erin Bray comes highly recommended. 100 for both Charisma & Technical Skills, plus he comes *cheap*. You need to grab him right after you start up, though. Other than Bray, I haven't played enough yet to know who else to pick up.
