Guest The Myriad

As each waking moment passes, I realize just how long it’s been since I’ve even thought about this place...that which was once my home is now a mere distant memory. It breathes a little harder each day...it comes a little bit closer to that final resting place which we avoid at all costs...without memories, what do we have? Nothing...nothing. I feel an urge...it pulls at me, tugs at me, tells me what must be done...and yet, I have a hard time doing it...such bad blood runs through the veins of my very relationship with it...indecision runs rampant throughout my mind.

...what should I do?

...must I save this memory from extinction through revival?

...yes...

...no...

I don’t know.

*Wake up.*

“I’m not sure what they’ll say...there are still a lot of unresolved conflicts, you know?”

“That’s okay, Ryan...they’ll want you back, I know they will.”

“Well...I hope so. The fact of the matter is that I didn’t leave on the best of terms with a lot of the people there...”

“Just leave, go there, and give it a shot. Okay?”

“*sigh*...Okay, I’m going.”

With that, Ryan walks out the door and down the carefully carved granite steps to his Los Angeles home, en route to his jet black BMW Z3 parked out front. As he makes his way around to the driver’s side, he opens the door, peers out at the clear summer sky for a memento of home, and then ducks down and into the drivers seat, shutting the door and turning the ignition, bringing the dormant engine to life. The car begins to move slowly, gradually gaining speed, and quickly disappears into the distance.

---------------------------------

Several hours later

---------------------------------

“This all feels so very familiar...”

Stepping out of a cab, Mercury takes a look at the structure before him and takes a deep breath.

“Rhode Island...heh. Maybe I should’ve waited til they went back to Cleveland.”

He hands the cab driver the appropriate amount for the fare from the airport to his current habitat, and the car drives off into the distance as the day fades into night. He turns back to face the building, and lets out another sigh.

“Here we go...”

He walks into the building. On the left, is the bell desk of the hotel, and on the right there are people standing around for no reason in particular. As Mercury walks through the loose crowd, he spots a familiar face, and walks up next to him.

“It’s been a while.”

The man turns around to face him, and he wears upon his face a look of nothing but sheer shock.

“Merc?! What in the hell are you doing here?”

“Heh...you know exactly why I’m here, don’t you Edwin?”

The look of surprise fades to more of a smirk as he responds.

“I suppose I do Ryan, I suppose I do.

“So then, Edwin...who do I talk to?”

“Either Stubby, or King...take your pick.”

“Ah, joy. This should be interesting. Thanks, I’ll catch you later.”

Mercury turns toward the bell desk and flags down a worker as Edwin chuckles a bit, and we fade to black.

*crosses fingers* Let this be the first of many. Please?

Fantasmical, Merc. It's always nice to see a vet come back, (Cause that means experienced writers) even if I wasn't around when you used to be here, I look forward to seeing you come back. If your promo work was any indication, there's gonna be good things from you.

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems a lot of wrestler exit and return promos seem to focus around the 'Real family lives' of the individual. It's not bad, it's just interesting. I guess people just know what gets the best response. :)

So, Mercury is back.  Well, this could be a good thing.  If Merc is back at the level he used o be at, and is willing to make the commitment and write, this could be the start of something good.  If he isn't, this will be another unspectacular return and the fed will be hurting that much more...

Good luck Mercury.  Don't let us down.
