Guest franchise632 Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Police called to Austin home last night by Dave Meltzer [email protected] Police were called to the home of Steve Williams (Steve Austin) at 4 a.m. last night when wife Debra called claiming she had been attacked. Steve was gone by the time police arrived, and saw Debrfa with a welt under her left eye and bruises to her shoulders and back. She told the police she was reluctant to call because of her husband's celebrity status but that things like this had happened before. This was reported earlier tonight on the KMOL News (NBC affiiliate) in San Antonio. Thanks to Patty Therre, Nick Warmack and Brad Hughes" So now it appears that Austin has some deeper issue, and I think this may be an issue that points to the whole Austin thing being legit. Either that or it was a work and he screwed up, either way its not a good thing. If this is true I just lost all respect for Steve as a preformer and a person. Any many that lays a hand on a women should be strung up. Especially an alleged repeat offender.
Guest benoitrules2000 Report post Posted June 16, 2002 WOW!!! I thought they were divorced, but if this is true, Austin has become the most messed up individual in wrestling since scott hall. Obviously this proves this whole situation is the furtherest thing from a work and i hope gets some help and soon.
Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted June 16, 2002 God damn, could this get any more bizarre? This may end up eclipsing SS97 as most-talked about wrestling scandal. In less than a week, Steve Williams has completely thrown his life away. There was definitely other motives in Austin's decision to leave. Something's up with the guy's head. Could this all end up with Steve Austin in jail? Haha, imagine that, Austin 3:16 in Oz... He'd probably hook up with Schillinger and the Ariyans. Then he'd start selling tits and raping guys by threatening to Stunner them.
Guest thefrenchargel Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Dude, people watch wrestling in jail. If Austin ends up in the stir, he'll be a hero in there.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted June 16, 2002 FUCK. I can't believe Steve would stoop to that level. I take back everything I said about this being a work. This is indeed very sad.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Holy SHIT. What has happened to this guy.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 16, 2002 You guys act like he'd see jail time. He may have spent the night then he'd been let out and Debra would drop the charges. And perhaps it's a good idea to maybe get the full story before calling him a danger to humanity.
Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Dude, people watch wrestling in jail. If Austin ends up in the stir, he'll be a hero in there. So you're saying he'll probably take over Schillinger as leader of the Nazis? Probably. Then he'd take over for his feud with Beecher too. Beecher 3:16, smell the ratings! Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted June 16, 2002 I wonder how long until Austin is blaming Vince for breaking up his marriage, ruining his life and career, etc. like Bret has been doing for years now.

Well at this point he has not been arrested or turned himself him, so therefore nothing is happening at this point. He was gone before police got there, if Debra presses charges then a warrent would be issued for his arrest.
Guest Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Hmm, I must now drop my insistence on this being a work now, for obvious reasons. Methinks Steve screwed Steve, but in the head.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted June 16, 2002 I guess he truly is a genuine son of a bitch. This really sucks.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted June 16, 2002 SOMEONE has to say it... What if this is a work too? How convient this happens right after the whole situation on Monday? I would bet money this is legit 100% stuff, but you have to at least think about it. After thinking about it...this probably isn't a work cause I would hope Vince wouldn't try to put this as part of a story line (yet they did it with Chaz and Marinnia a few years ago.) Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 16, 2002 All I gotta say is wow. Austin must be really fucked in the head right now and I hope he gets the help he needs.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted June 16, 2002 I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it appears that Austin is suffering from some sort of midlife crisis/mental breakdown.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted June 16, 2002 I hate to say this, but maybe he wanted to get fired so he could jump ship to NWA. Who knows what the hell he's thinking.

I would bet money this is legit 100% stuff, but you have to at least think about it. Heh, yeah it's interesting to think that this could be a work. An incredibly sick one, but hey, it's Vince McMahon I wouldn't call it 'convenient' that it's happening now though. What we're seeing right now is that there's a lot more going on with Austin than what we know about. Whatever is going on with him that caused him to walk out on Raw is probably related to whatever made him lash out at Debra. He's spiraling out of control. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 16, 2002 This walkout is more about jobbing to Brock. Austin is just having problems.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted June 16, 2002 I hate to say this, but maybe he wanted to get fired so he could jump ship to NWA. Who knows what the hell he's thinking. I dunno about that. I don't think NWA can afford him.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted June 16, 2002 If Stone Cold shoots someone tomorrow in a fit of psychotic rage, there will be people who are like "It could still be a work".
Guest Luke Michael Report post Posted June 16, 2002 It's so sad I'm almost laughing! I've always been a big Rock fan and have disliked Austin ever since he started in the WWF. I always wished he'd leave and never come back but I never thought it actually happen and to this level!!
Guest Report post Posted June 16, 2002 I'm afraid it'll come to that, the shooting that is, but I can't say I don't expect it to happen. I hate to say it, but I'd go nuts for a Falling Down-esque rampage on the WWE locker room by Austin.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Involving actual legal authorities and the media and you call it a work? I guess you're going to call Booker T robbing Wendy's back in his early days as being a work too? I mean, jesus, the IWC has become so paranoid that everything might be a work. I think this is pretty sad. The guy sounds really screwed up and although I really didn't like his character, it's sad to hear that the real guy is an even bigger bastard than the in-ring character is. Guest Report post Posted June 16, 2002 A man walks out on his job with no apparent explanation other than to say "Creative sucks right now." The people in charge on the WWE end of the situation go to pretty much all lengths possible to explain to the public that this isn't a work. I mean, I haven't seen them be this forthcoming about a situation since the unfortunate tragedy with Owen Hart when JR was repeating over and over "This is not a wrestling angle" on the PPV broadcast. Now clearly, the Owen tragedy and this situation and the Austin one presently are in two totally different realms. But they share one lone common trait: Neither is part of "the script." People are going on the Internet now with ideas that this still might be some sort of elaborate work. Stone Cold walking out is a work. Steve Williams assaulting his wife is a work. Give me a fucking break. It is about time that people on the goddamn Internet got their heads out of their asses and realized that not everything is for a goddamn ratings ploy. Not everything is a "work." Everybody you see on TV might be a character, but those characters are all played by real people. Real people have real problems. Sad is it is right now, it would damn well certainly seem that Steve Williams is going through some personal problems. Quit trying to look for some deeper "insider story" here and just fucking accept the fact that what they are telling you is the fucking truth: He really walked out of his job on Monday night. There are apparently other issues now coming to the surface. This isn't a "work." This even goes beyond being a "shoot." This is a very real and very sad situation for someone that was one of the greatest stars in wrestling history. Smarks, open your goddamn eyes.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Uh oh. The article is gone from wrestlingobserver.com now.
Guest Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Well said my son, well said. I was just thinknig about posting something quite similar to that. Now what's curious is to know what kind of personal problems Steve could/would be having, since he's been such a professional all these years...
Guest Fubar420 Report post Posted June 16, 2002 If this is true it's awful sad . On the other hand something is just not adding up . If this really did happen how come it's not on the news site of that nbc affiliate ? Why was it not brought to light on the net until after confidential ? Also it was posted on The Observer at 1:34 a.m , some 24 hrs after this incident allegedely(sp) took place . I would have to think with San Antonio not being the North Pole that surely this would have hit the net before 1:34 a.m 6/16/02 if it had happened at 4 a.m on 6/15/02 . I don't know , but something is fishy . I've asked people in Texas and they haven't seen or heard anything on the news , although I haven't spoken with anyone from San Antonio specifically YET . Can anyone confirm that Steve has a half sister that's a hairdresser in Houston ? My Wife's aunt sent us a photo of her , Steve , and this Lady who she says is his half- sister who does her hair. I know this may sound corny as hell , but it not like I gonna wake my wife up and ask her for her aunt's phone # at this hr of the night . Does anyone know if this is true or not ? I gonna find out one way or another , and as a fan if I supported a woman beater it wouldn't be the first time I been shocked by one of my favorites . I once was a Warrior fan also .. Ouch. did I just say that ?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 16, 2002 I'd just like to say that over in the WDI chat this morning (before this story broke) we were discussing whats next for Austin. Loss4Words said retirement. I said getting drunk and beating his wife. So...does anyone want to doubt my predictions on KOTR now?
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted June 16, 2002 True Fubar. It does seem odd that this was the first we were hearing of this incident. I hope the report was erroneous (Meltzer has deleted it). For Steve's sake and especially for Debra's sake.
Guest DARRYLXWF Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Basically, it sounds like depression. And this being Austin, I would think that he was under the influence when he beat his wife. Also, if this is indeed a mental breakown, then I wonder whether the 'roids have finally switched on to 'fuck up someones mind' mode.
