luke-o Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 I'm looking for a video compressor that can make my 706mb file down so it can fit on a CD. Any ideas on how to do this as it is doing me nut in.
Golgo 13 Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 I use Total Video Converter. It's quite ugly, but it supports many different formats and works regardless, along with being simple to use. I know very little about how best to use the settings though. I usually keep it to Xvid or DivX Avi and estimate about what I need. But you shouldn't need to shave much off that file.
MrRant Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 You can't really "compress" video much without lowering the quality. MPEG, etc is a form of compression already. Is that what you are seeking to do?
luke-o Posted July 9, 2007 Author Report Posted July 9, 2007 Pretty much, I just want to get it onto a CD. I'd put it on a DVD but my PC doesn't have a DVD writer drive. My laptop does, but that means I need to transfer the film to my laptop. I'd use a flash stick but I've only got a 256 one atm.
MrRant Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 You can probably go out and pick up a 1 to 2 gig flash drive for $10-15.
luke-o Posted July 9, 2007 Author Report Posted July 9, 2007 I'm really considering getting one, but while I'm unemployed it's sort of on the back burner. I need to pay rent really.
