Make Your Own ESRB Content Descriptors

The content descriptors are vague and the average consumer isn't familiar enough with the ESRBs tendencies enough to know what they mean.

 

Like I said, the ESRB needs to take steps to clarify these ratings, and renaming the AO rating - or introducing another level before that - would be a good start.

 

So true.

 

For fun, though--how about we take into consideration some of our own favorite titles, and make up our own content descriptors. Ones with more context, more information, or at least ones that are more entertaining.

 

For instance, Dead Rising:

"Intense, gratituitous, and utterly hilarious violence against hordes of the shambling undead."

 

God of War:

"Decapitations, dismemberment, disembowment of human and non-human combatants. Many gratituitous breast shots. (SPOILER)

1 live man flame broiled to death

, etc."

 

Sonic the Hedgehog 360:

"Much Violence against Automatons, Falling into nothingness, suggestive anthromorphic hedgehog and human female sexual themes."

Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) - "May provoke strong language, broken controllers".

 

OT, the above kinda reminded of how Rogers Video in Canada used to have parental warnings on the back of the box that gave plot points away.

 

"Violence: A character is killed in a horrific manner with a chainsaw" and such. The box for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was funny, though.

This is really the worst thread I've ever seen. But I also somewhat understand the need for certain people to maintain their intarweb rep after being exposed as a hack.
