Murder on Spike TV

Recommended Posts

Sorry if there has been a thread on this already, but I searched and didn't come up with one.

I was channel-surfing late last night as I couldn't get myself to sleep and came across the show. I ended up watching two back-to-back episodes before finally going to bed.

Anyway, here is the premise of the series which I ripped from the production company of the shows website.

Amateur Sleuths Attempt To Correctly Solve Homicide Cases Pulled From Actual Police Files. Premieres Summer 2007 New York, NY, February 20, 2007 Spike TV has ordered 10 one-hour episodes of the alternative/reality series "Murder" from reality innovator Bunim-Murray Productions, set to premiere in the Summer of 2007. Following in the dramatic tradition of "CSI" and "Law and Order," "Murder" is an unscripted series in which amateur sleuths try to correctly solve a real homicide pulled directly from police files.

So there is a red team and a blue team. Basically they are both trying to solve the same case, which was solved in real life already and they have to basically see if they can solve it as well. It opens with them examining an exact replication of the murder crime scene, complete with the murder victims. These murder victims are either manequins or actors really good at playing dead, i'm not too sure. From here the two teams gather evidence, examing the crime scene, take photos etc.

When they go to their team HQ they receive some info with photos of the top suspects in the case and they start trying to figure out motives. They even get to go to the morgue and get info on how they died, etc.

Without giving everything away I think it's a decent waste of an hour for anyone that likes trying to figure out cases like these. If you want to check out the show most of the previous episodes are online at SPIKETV.COM

Thoughts?

I haven't seen this, but it sounds like a decent-enough premise. Just like Fox's old reality show "Murder in Small Town X," which should have lasted more than one season since it was fucking awesome, but alas.

One of the main reasons it didn't last was the guy that won was a firefighter in NY that died in the towers on Sept. 11. Kind of ironic that the losers on the show"died" and the winner really died.

That shows was the SHIT. I loved it. It was the only reality show at that time that was entertaining.
