Old School Jams

Recommended Posts

The topic is self explanatory. Well Ill start off with my favorite old school genre. Being a child of the 1990s that can remember all or most of the decade (Roughly anyone born before 1986), I really have to give love to New JAck Swing. The music was fun, uptempo and clean. Ill post a couple of favorites:

Aaron Hall: Dont be Afraid (1992):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAEQPpGsZvU

Al B Sure: Nite and Day (1988):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ6GddZbQHE

Al B Sure: Misunderstanding (1990):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iGXXHjVCj0

Chuckii Booker: Turned Away (1989)-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-l6boIyD8o

Guy: Do Me Right (1990)-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=094sLo9FpGs

This is just a sample, but I often find myselfs wathcing old reruns of BET Video Soul and Planet Grove on BETJ. Its funny because now, this is basically all I listen to now. I dont know why, but New Jack Swing reminds me a lot of childhood. Hmmm

I have trouble thinking of music that came out in the '90s as "old school," but whatever:

A handful of my favorite songs from the nineties:

Portrait - Here We Go Again. I listened to this song so much, that my sister still has it as her ringtone for whenever I call her.

Digital Underground - The Humpty Dance

Kris Kross - Warm it Up

I was born in '87, but I still remember a shitload of 90's stuff.

Egad!
