Looking for a short story

There was a short story I read in school a while ago that I'm trying to find. It's set in France, about a kid on his way to school and seeing German army troops and whatnot before the occupation. It ends with him in school and the teacher writing "Viva la France" (I think, my memory on it is really hazy) and saying something to the effect of "that is all, you are dismissed." As you can tell, I can't remember a lot of it, but I remember really liking it at the time. Anybody have any idea what it might be?
