At Home 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 I'm going to have to say "Gimme More". It's Britney, bitch. I don't know if you're joking. But, that's a really, really good dance song. Plz, it's a terrible album. It sounds like Daft Punk produced it on their lunch break. It's bile. Literally, bile.

At Home 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 pbone's cranky anti-britney post is sadly misguided. sorry. though he gets bonus points for his smarmy hipster daft punk reference. I've listened to the whole album. I don't think it's misguided at all. It's just a terrible album. It's less focusing on her and more focusing on the beat. One of the beats sounds like someone's change in their pocket; who's idea was that? She's interchangeable. She doesn't even sound like the best singer on the album. The song about how BEIN A CELEB IS HARD WORK is really lamentable. It just sounds like one of those pushed-out, factory-produced albums. Same synth beat throughout the whole thing. It's a club album, but a half-assed attempt at one.

It's a club album, but a half-assed attempt at one. Oh come the fuck on. Yeah, it's less focused on her, which is the strength of it. She was never that good, except as a live performer (and that ship has sailed, apparently), only well produced. She's not the best singer on the album. Conceptually, it is basically a factory produced club album, but half-assed is a matter of opinion, and that opinion is wrong. You want a half-assed club album, look at Geri Halliwell's albums. And I love her more than Britney. Also, you misused "literally" and are therefore stupid.

At Home 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2007 Oh come the fuck on. Yeah, it's less focused on her, which is the strength of it. She was never that good, except as a live performer (and that ship has sailed, apparently), only well produced. She's not the best singer on the album. And I love her more than Britney. Also, you misused "literally" and are therefore stupid. Did I use literally incorrectly? I didn't see it there.. And yeah, you're right, it is a factory produced club album. The whole album is droney and drawn out. When you have had two kids come out of your once tight-and-sought-after vagina (therefore ruining it) and are fostering a beer belly, it's difficult to pull off that moan-y voice. I mean, how old is she? She was 18 about five years ago right? So by LA standards that makes her like 42, which by porn standards makes her father time. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2007 In the earlier post you said it was literally bile. So it was actually secreted by the liver to aid in digestion? But anyway, the album didn't hold up as well after a few listens. It's good, still, but not that good. It is kinda droney, yeah. I don't blame that on her at all, though. Paris Hilton's album was great, and she had no business making one at all. They can prop anybody up there and make them sound good. So you know, it's a step back. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2007 After 50 or so listens, I've just now paid attention to the lyrics on Britney's new album. pbone's gripe is legit. Here are a select few from the "change in a pocket" track. I’m Miss American Dream since I was 17 Don’t matter if I step on the scene Or sneak away to the Philippines They still gonna put pictures of my derrière in the magazine You want a piece of me? You want a piece of me… I’m Miss bad media karma Another day, another drama Guess I can’t see the harm In working and being a mama And with a kid on my arm I’m still an exceptional earner You want a piece of me I’m Mrs. Lifestyles of the rich and famous (You want a piece of me) I’m Mrs. Oh my God that Britney’s Shameless (You want a piece of me) I’m Mrs. Extra! Extra! this just in (You want a piece of me) I’m Mrs. she’s too big now she’s too thin (You want a piece of me) I’m Mrs. ‘You want a piece of me?’ Tryin’ and pissin’ me off Well get in line with the paparazzi Who’s flippin’ me off Hopin’ I’ll resort to some havoc End up settlin’ in court Now are you sure you want a piece of me? (you wan' a piece of me...) I’m Mrs. ‘Most likely to get on the TV for strippin' on the streets’ When getting the groceries, now for real.. Are you kidding me? No wonder there's panic in the industry I mean, please, do you want a piece of me? That is awful. I’m Mrs. ‘Most likely to get on the TV for strippin' on the streets’ Not the best line for the same song where you talk about your kids. And I don't think anyone accused Britney of being too thin. She is an exceptional earner, though, I'll give her that. But her body has gone to shit. It's ok, she had two kids, but don't sing a song about being too thin. You ain't!
