King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 "It blew my mind - this is SO MUCH MORE than just pro wrestling!!!" There are hundreds of pro wrestling and lucha libre companies around the world, but there is only one Chikara! Combining the best elements from Mexican Lucha Libre to the British Lancanshire Styles, from Japanese Puroresu to traditional American Pro Wrestling, Chikara is the true alternative to the world of mainstream wrestling. Throughout the years Chikara's colorful cast of characters have collided for control of the ring in matches that have redefined the way their fans thought about professional wrestling! Now, you can witness the most legendary battles between Chikara's technicos (good guys) and rudos (bady guys)! With cutting-edge action, original concepts and a sense of humor all our own, Chikara is wrestling's most unique offspring, and the best can be found in this very collection! MATCH LISTING - Shane Storm, Jigsaw and Mike Quackenbush vs Gran Akuma, Icarus and Claudio Castagnoli (Young Lions Cup IV: Night Three, 6/25/06) - Shane Storm vs Chris Hero (The Crushing Weight of Mainstream Ignorance, 7/22/06) - Milano Collection AT and Skayde vs Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli (Tag World Grand Prix 2006: Night Three, 2/26/06) - Allison Danger, Ranmaru and Rain vs Daizee Haze, Mickie Knuckles and Sumie Sakai (Tag World Grand Prix 2006: Night Three, 2/26/06) - Jigsaw vs Hallowicked (Son of the International Invasion of International Invaders: Second Stage, 9/17/05) - Angel del Fuego, Equinox and The Colony vs Los Ice Creams, Crossbones and Rorschach (Young Lions Cup IV: Night Three, 6/25/06) - North Star Express vs Kings of Wrestling (Tag World Grand Prix 2006: Night Three, 2/26/06) - Mike Quackenbush vs Claudio Castagnoli (Negative Balance, 8/13/05) - Eddie Kingston vs Larry Sweeney (The Crushing Weight of Mainstream Ignorance, 7/22/06) It's commercially available at, amongst other places, Amazon.com, Highspots.com, ROH's online store, some little place called WalMart (I assume there's a few of them in America, I dunno), FYE (whatever that is)... I dunno, a bunch of places. Honestly, the DVD is almost worth the price for Claudio/Quack alone. Seems like a nice introduction to one of the fastest rising promotions in the US, certainly my favourite company at the moment. And perfect timing to be released with so many CHIKARA guys getting ROH exposure in the past few months.
The Flamboyance 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 I couldnt find this anywhere last week, not even in the heart of NYC. I'll keep looking though because I love Chikara and the matchlist looks great. If I can't find it by the end of the week, I guess I'll just order it. Quack and Claudio had another good match in ROH's July at the Race To The Top tournament. Check it out if you haven't. I hope they start releasing full shows in the future. That'd be great because it's hard to keep up with Chikara unless you're willing to do constant online shopping and that's something I don't like to do. Anyway, do you have it yet? Have you seen the whole thing? I'm interested in knowing what Sweeney vs Kingston was like.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 I have all the full shows the matches are on, so yes and no. Sweeney vs. King is good, probably a lot better for those who had seen the storyline building around it. There really isn't a bad match on the DVD though. The eight man tag is probably the weakest of the matches, but it has LOS ICE CREAMS, thus it gets special treatment and it's certainly not bad. I haven't heard anything about the full shows being released (outside of smartmarkvideo.com, shill, of course). I'd assume if this one is successful, which it seems to be so far, there'd be more Best Ofs in the future, if anything.
Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2007 Always nice to see CHIKARA expand that little extra every year, truely the best promotion around at the moment. Great wrestling, fun and exciting shows.
cd213 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2007 I picked this up yesterday and am watching it right now. I'm up to Hallowicked vs Jigsaw. This is the first time I have seen anything from this promotion, but it is the best thing I have ever seen. These matches are insane! I love the gimmicks! I can't wait to get some more stuff from them.

I went to the Virgin Megastore in Times Square during my class break a few days ago and THEY didn't have it and that place usually has all of the obscure wrestling DVD's. It's grating my skull. It's backordered on Bestbuy.com too. I'm very close to just downloading it but I might use tomorrow's Black Friday sale on the ROH site to get it from there if it's still in stock.
