Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2008 I'm happy Blyleven made it up to 62%. It should be enough to get him in the next few years.
Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted January 11, 2008 As a weak-assed and dopey form of protest, Chicago Sun-Times columnist and failed talk show host Rick Telander submitted a blank Hall of Fame ballot, writing in a column that no player from the steroid era can be trusted, including beloved North Side alumnus Andre Dawson. This roundabout calling-out/singling-out greatly upset the Hawk, who vaguely challenged Rick Telander to a fight of some sort to clear his good name. Mike "Shutcher damn mout Ozzie" North said that Telander should just stop voting if he's going just continue to put on these silly stunts, and then Telander took the high road and said North was illiterate because he never finished high school. (I think both sides are right.) Also note that as his last steroid protest, he voted for Jose Canseco. Turn in your ballot and hand it over to a sportswriter, if not in Chicago, then surely somewhere in America, who really gives a damn about getting this process done the right way. Stop abusing a privilege so very few are granted in the sports world just to lend yourself column fodder and the appearance of "taking a stand." Even Jay Mariotti is a better writer than you are down at the Sun-Times, and everyone hates him. Go away, Rick. bad sportswriting here
