Guest dreamer420 Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 the wwe hasn't done anything that has made me even close to being sick. yet...
Guest Prince Paul Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 I disagree on the Owen tribute thing. Whether they should have stopped the PPV, I don't know, I see merit in letting it go on and in stopping it. But the tribute show was good. They DID drop most storylines, and they broke kayfabe which always scores points with me. Ross shilling "We're dropping all our storylines. Tonight we celebrate and remember the life of Owen Hart." just struck something in me, and despite being in character, Austin's salute had a certain charm to it. I thought that Raw was pretty darn good. I thought Vince's tribute (farewell) to Austin this week reminded me of Austin's tribute to Owen. Leaving the beer sitting in the middle of the ring, like it was just waiting there for him. Damn it Vince, you can't even tribute someone without stealing!!

Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 You know what would have been a fitting tribute? OWENS MATCHES! Have two hours dedicated to Owen Hart, his matches, his promos, his life. THAT is a tribute. Not just having HHH start to cry and a bunch of people sayin 'you da man, owen'. The Show SHOULD NOT HAVE gone on. That is an unneeded stress on the wrestlers and the fans, not to mention it is just tasteless. "The Show must go on" relates to Austin leaving in the last minute. It relates to HHH's quad injury. It does not relate to someone dying. If they didn't continue the storylines, why were the matches short, why did they suck, wh...basically why were they the same-old same-old from the wwf?
Guest Prince Paul Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 It was same old same old because they didn't create anything new that night. There was nothing "TASTELESS" about that show, besides Dogg and Godfathers comments, which were already mentioned. "Unneeded stress on the wrestlers" The wrestlers didn't have to go on that show and say anything if they didn't want to. I own the Raw is Owen tape, and watch it at least twice a year just to see that tribute.

Guest Human Fly Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 Anything written by or involving Vince Russo. Not me, I just love incest angles. (Why did they hire him back?)
Guest Angle-plex Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 Test matches. Edge shaving Angle. Albert walking down half-naked for the first time. The Bradshaw push.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 (Why did they hire him back?) The fans wanted more tranvestite angles and Pat Patterson's suggestion of using Steve Lombardi in them wasn't cutting it.
