Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Yeah, in that group, it's best to let Christian or Jericho talk. Lance CAN, but I think Jericho and Christian are better.
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Val Venis can't be in team Canada, he's from Las Vagas! Obviously he's not really, but in WWE-land he's a real American.
Guest LesnarLunatic Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Val was only in Las Vegas because the concept of a Canadian Porn Star would creep people out. To compare with the Hart Foundation... Test could be the Neidhart of this group, but Neidhart had more personality and could probably draw more money in a main event.
Guest BobbyWhioux Report post Posted June 21, 2002 This is getting dangerous. I'm starting to hope that the sketch I've outlined in many a fantasy booking sessions could actually come to fruition. Basically, it's a newly "Bad-Assed" Chris Jericho doesn't just win the king of the ring, he beats people ruthlessly (like what he did to Edge). That is parlayed into a World Title Shot at Summerslam, preferably vs. Triple H. "What's preferable about that?" asks Anglesault. "Triple H would just bury him!" Yes, probably. But remember, we're in Bobby Whioux's dream world now, and in Bobby Whioux's dream world, justice exists. Anyway, Jericho exploits a re-aggrivation of HHH's quad injury and defeats him with The Walls of Liontamer. I'd like an actual tap out, but "passing out from the pain" is acceptable here. Now, where does the injury come from? Why, Lance Storm and several others beat the shit out of Helmsley backstage or the night before, silly buns. So yeah, Summerslam is the super coup: Jericho captures the title and unveils the stable of The Canadian Mafia and/or The Four Fozzymen. Chris Jericho Lance Storm Christian Test (or perhaps Mike Awesome, as he was "Canadian" in WCW as part of team Canada) as the obligatory big man. Chris Benoit: Just because I always make Storm and Benoit the dominant heel tag team in my EWR games, in the spirit of The Brainbusters. Maybe throw in an American sympathizer, kinda like what Brian Pillman was to the Hart Foundation. Also, turn Trish heel and add her, so that they can conquer the women's division too, without having to get desperate and make X-Pac an honorary Canadian. It's probably just Vince malevolently teasing and torturing me again by giving me a hint of what I'd like to see before scrapping it, but it kinda looks like they could be building to something along those lines... I only wish they actually were.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 21, 2002 How about NO Test, and NO Awesome. Just Benoit, Storm, Christian and Jericho?
Guest LesnarLunatic Report post Posted June 21, 2002 How about we all send Test to Kuwait and hope he beats up a TV host while there?
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted June 21, 2002 well you cant have both Jericho and Venis in there, because didnt they just have like a mini-feud...but then again continuity comes into play, and in reference to the WWF, it wont matter, and Benoit should stay on Raw, so he can stay as far from HHH as possible
Guest BobbyWhioux Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Well, I throw either Test or Awesome in there for contrast. Without one of them, you've got Jericho, Storm, Benoit, Christian, who are all basically the same size and shape. When they start wearing their team/stable uniform, it's going to be hard for the common idiot to distinguish amongst them (and we have to make allowances for the common idiot, because they buy t-shirts). Besides, Vince won't push it unless there's at least one big man involved. And there are far worse big men than Test and/or Mike Awesome. Besides, I'd probably want to end up booting Christian out for "not making the grade" and then have Edge save him from a beatdown and reunite the "brothers" as a face team that may or may not be able to end the long, dominant, punishing title reign of "The Shooters" [benoit & Storm]. Plus, Jericho's comments were sort of a backhanded subtle compliment towards Test on smackdown last night. It's believable to accept him into the mafia because he could already be perceived as "in on it" if Jericho didn't trash talk him as severely as he does most people when doing his heel promos. Mike Awesome gets consideration because I mark for him, end of discussion. Besides, somebody might remember Storm and Awesome working as a tag team when the alleged Invasion started last year, and they'd go "oh yeah, he's always been one of them, hasn't he?" Assuming, of course, any of this ever happens and they ever commit to letting these guys look good for a while. Which probably isn't going to happen outside of the EWR gaming sessions of one of us smarkies.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Well, I throw either Test or Awesome in there for contrast. Without one of them, you've got Jericho, Storm, Benoit, Christian Because a group with just those four would SUCK! Actually, no, it wouldn't. They would do just fine by themselves. Do they REALLY need a big, boring, sucky lumbering guy like Test to drag them down? Besides, Vince won't push it unless there's at least one big man involved. And there are far worse big men than Test and/or Mike Awesome. I'm not a big Awesome fan, but he's not horrible like Test. I can't think of too many people worse than Test in every category. Guest Brian Report post Posted June 21, 2002 I don't really like puttiing Jeircho and Benoit on th same side just because they have that history and natural rivalry going. Test is good as an enforcer, like in the corporation and not as a push guy. Jericho's the mouth with Christian, and Storm's the wrestling guy. If they don't have a big guy, Nash will just start calling them the Vanilla Midgets. Seriously.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 21, 2002 They can't find a GOOD big guy? Dig Vader up and tell everyone he's from Canada.
Guest jester Report post Posted June 21, 2002 I have no problem with a "Canadian Mafia" group, but the anti-American angle will not work. They'll be heels in the US, and faces in Canada. It's like a national version of what happens whenever a heel appears in a home town. The crowd loves the heel, because he's one of their own. Sometimes they try to get the heel to insult the hometown fans, but this really comes off forced. If you're going to make them a heel stable, do it because they gang up on people, cheat like crazy, the usual heel stuff. But please, stop this Anti US crap. jester
Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Test for world champ! I think he could learn alot from being in the same group as all them guys, and if he improved (drasticly ... sp?) Anglesalt would like him! Wouldnt that benifit both the WWE and the Smart Marks board? I say, why not? He cant kill the collective heat...
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Ok in semi confirmation to my post, I put it up a few minutes after Storm's speech, then later in the show Both Test and Jericho made reference to it in their separate interviews. So there maybe some proof to the hypothesis, but here is a additional question, who outside the WWE would you add??? Dig up Furnas and LaFon??? Maybe a Young Hart??? What is Ted Hart doing these days?
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 21, 2002 I say, why not? He cant kill the collective heat... Wanna bet?

Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted June 21, 2002 I would love to see a new Team Canada group. If Test does join this group, I just hope he will be an inforcer type person who doesn't wrestle and only accompanies people to ringside and perform heel tactics. As a Canadian though, I woud like to see very much a Team Canada form, Lance Storm will do a great job.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 21, 2002 I could just see it, like Canadian Stampede, they introduce them one by one. "Edge!" Huge Pops "Christian!" Huge Pops "Lance Storm!" Huge Pops "Chris Jericho!" Mega Pops "Chris Benoit!" The roof blows off the place "Test!" Polite clapping. I miss the Austin/HBK vs. Hart Foundation feud and the main event scene in WWF at that time (Summer of 1997)....... A new Canadian Stable would be cool, but it would be a rehashed idea. I don't see the WWE pulling something like this off for a while. And besides, they're regrouping with what they have now. I could be wrong, but with the NWO (Clique Class of 2002) as the #1 stable, I doubt we'll see a credible threat.....
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 21, 2002 i kind of liked lance storm's little anti-america promo last night. it looks like it may start a new stable of canadians (whoo hoo). also did anyone notice how jericho wanted it to be him and test in the KOTR finals so it could be an all canadian group. maybe we will see the maple leaf take over the wwe, which would be sweet. Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted June 22, 2002 on an outside note, despite the horrendous workrate that would be in the match, wouldn'tanyone wanna see a Test vs. Nash hair v. hair match where they both lose
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 you talk to Pete Gas lately? yep. he asked me if i wanted fries with my meal.

Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted June 22, 2002 wouldn'tanyone wanna see a Test vs. Nash hair v. hair match where they both lose I don't want to see Test in ANY match, let alone in one with Nash.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 dude, arent getting fries always implied i thought so but he asked anyway. i did see the manager pull him aside after serving me just so he could tear him a new one so I guess he did fuck up.
Guest LJSexay Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Anglesault = Test who else but the wrestler himself bash Test soooo much in order to see people make a ruse of it?
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Test is getting a push on the internet as Anglesault now? When will WWE realize he WON'T get over! Ever!
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 22, 2002 I think a kick ass group would be Lance Storm w/ Dawn Marie (not canadian, but still beautiful), Christian, Test (every group needs the big guy), and Chris Jericho. Lance and Chris would be great co-leaders if you don't have Jericho smothering him. In bizarro world, wouldn't this be a great angle. Bret Hart comes back (this is in bizarro world, mind you), and joins team Canada in the same fashion that Shawn Michaels is with nWo. Both groups dominate their respective shows...bam! Team Canada vs. nWo at Survivor Series! Bret's team vs. Shawn's team. HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Was nice to see the Thrillseeker reunion last Smackdown even though it started the ref misque stuff which started the possible Canadian Stable.
