First, a little back story: Through high school, I was an excellent student. I was always able to concentrate and focus quite strongly on everything I did, and was successful in my academic pursuits.

However, in my adult years, things have gone way downhill. There is no outside reason for such an occurrence (I haven't drank regularly in 2 years, and I smoke pot on average once a month) but I did a lot of research and took tests online and I seem to exhibit many symptoms of adult onset ADD.

It's gotten to the point where it's really messing up my life. I don't retain information like I should, and aside from not being able to properly do my job, I cannot even focus on things I enjoy such as reading or creating music.

I was prescribed Adderall in a once daily, 20 mg dose over the weekend. Today, I took my first pill. I have read about people's experiences on various websites, but seeing as how I am familiar with most of you, even if you don't like me, I'd like to hear any stories you all may have. I am curious as to whether any of you have taken Adderall or a similar drug, and whether or not it helped.

I've taken it a few times. I used to pop one before going to my weekly indy show. Since I was doing live commentary on every match all night long, it helped me keep up my energy and concentration.

As for what it feels like, it's just an upper. Makes you hyper, you tend to talk loud and grind your teeth a lot.

Well, I know it doesn't make EVERYONE hyper, since it is used in some cases to treat hyperactivity. However, everyone reacts to it differently, which is why I created this topic in the first place. I'll have to give it a few weeks before I know if it will benefit me.

EDIT: My EHME/Cena's Writer inspired avatar and sig look really out of place outside of the Chocolate Socket where I'm using the gimmick.

It's the cheap mans coke.

AKA it's awesome. Well it was. I haven't taken one in almost 2 years. I used to take it for work only, then it became a regular thing.

But I'm not ADD, so it made me super hyper. My friend, who is RXed it for ADD, says it makes him calm as shit.

Does it affect your heartrate? Curious.

It did tonight at the gym, but the doctor said that it can take 2-4 weeks for a body to adjust and kind of level out. My heart rate was a good 20 bpm over the usual during my 30 minutes run, and I was going at my normal pace.

So it's essentially a mild amphetamine? Blech. I'll pass.

I have type 2 ADD, I was once prescribed Adderall.

It did speed up my heartrate a bit. But I'm not sure how much it helped me. I decided it wasn't worth it and have worked without it since like 2002.

This shit is a disaster that destroys children's minds.

It's the pill of choice among first shift warehouse case pickers. Third shift is all about loratab and oxy.

Matt, take two or three.
