“I’m not doing it?” The words filled with skepticism coming from the mouth of SIN as he sit’s in front of a large, oak wood desk that Bo is sitting behind of.

“Why not?” Bo replies, getting a little agitated with SIN lack of trust towards him.

“Because I’m not...”

Exhales, shakes his head while looking on towards the ground, he slowly lifts his head up to face Bo who is waiting for clarification.

“Chuck, I told you I wanted to do this by my self, since I can’t have you by my side for reason that GOD only knows, I’m going to do this by my self. I don’t need help; I would appreciate your guidance because you’ve been in this business for years. You’ve been though the ups and downs, bled, sweat, and shed tears for this passion that we all know as wrestling. I looked up to you and I still do…the first time you won the title from Cyclone Comet, I screamed, cheered, because there was a man, who came out from the slums, the ghetto, what we call home to become a successful professional athlete.”

There was a moment of silence giving SIN time to collect his thoughts…he continues.

“I followed everything that you have done, the creation of ‘Anarchy’, the jump to the WF, the first title you ever won in the WF after you defeated ‘Grimedogg’ for the Hardcore title. The second wrestler in the WF history to become a double champion, all the accomplishments in this industry and now you’re telling me that I should consider being represented by that southern snake? Are you fucking kidding me, do you know what you’re asking me to do? “

There was another moment of silence, SIN just stares at Bo waiting for an honest answer from the man he has admired, looked up to for years. Bo scratches his bald head, tilts his head to the right a little and with one word shook the mind and heart of SIN.

“Yes…” SIN just sits there in total shock, his mouth slightly open, strained eyes focusing at the little smirk that emerged from Bo’s lips. “You honestly think I did all those achievements by myself? In the JL I had Anarchy; in the WF I had Thugg and Mark Stevens, Chris Wilson, Axis, Chris Storm. These are people that I’ve wrestle against but I easily can call them my ally…”

SIN interrupted by saying.

“Mark Stevens betrayed you…Thugg fucked your wife.”

“Allegations... I -”

“The guy admitted it and you almost killed him for that, and these are the “ALLIES” you’re talking about?” SIN shakes his head and chuckles why continuing… “Shit, who needs enemies if you have “ALLIES’ like those?”

Bo takes a deep breath before answering to SIN obvious disrespectfulness.

“You know what Sammy, I’m trying to help you out here…this guy right helped another wrestler in the fed and was successful and he called me because he sees the potential. You honestly think you’re going to go in there and make head turns? You honestly think you got the talent to make it big in this business?”

“I got skills.” SIN interjects.

“You got skills in wrestling but you don’t know shit about this business. If I was so fuckin great why am I not in the Hall of Fame, how come I could never win that one match to become the world heavy weight champion? I had the wrestling skills but that don’t mean shit in this business. I’ve seen people die in that mother fuckin ring, scarred for life, careers ended in that ring. I know you got the skills, but this business puts a hold on your life like a noose. You cannot do it by yourself, use this guy, and use him to network yourself into something bigger and better. Do like that Samoan guy from that other federation. Do not only use your muscle, use your brain…don’t work hard my son, work smart.”

With that little speech Bo sits back on his leather black executive chair feeling good about what he just said. He sees SIN thinking things through, head down mumbling to himself. It seems that SIN is about to speak as he looks up at his mentor.

“You’ve struggled a lot in this industry and you said is because you didn’t have representation or what ever the fuck you want to call it. You said you had friends but yet you didn’t go where you wanted to go. You said you’re not in the Hall of Fame because you’re mostly by yourself and could not win that big match. You’re saying that you’ve suffered so much in this business and you have nothing to show for…am I right so far?”

Bo starts shaking his head up and down as he answers. “Yeah, you’re about right in that.”

“You don’t have trust in me? Do you think I’m going to fail and just be shuffled as mid-carders and not make it big? You honestly think I’m going to make the same so called mistakes you’ve made…?”

“That’s why I’m trying to hook you up with this ma ---“

SIN puts his hand up stopping Bo in mid sentence.

“I feel that I am an intelligent man, with the brains and brawns to make it big anywhere. I am not going to get over zealous with the opportunity that lies ahead. I will take it one match at a time. I am a very patient man and my time will come and if I have to knock mother fuckers in the head with a bat than so be-it. I’m from the Bronx; we don’t ask for shit, we take shit. Chuck, I appreciate what you’re trying to do for me, but I think you gave me enough knowledge for me to defend myself.”

SIN starts getting up before Bo and come back with a counter.

“I gotta get home and start packing and I think you should do the same. Pick me up at 8.”

“The flight leaves at 8:45, are you fuckin crazy.”

SIN turns towards the door as he’s about to walk out. He grabs the door knob but did not do anything for a second then he said… “Oh yeah, I’m driving.” With that, SIN opens the door and leaves Bo’s office. Bo watches SIN leaves, grabs his cell phone and pressed two buttons. He puts the receiver by his ear…

Waits…

“Yo, I talked to him but he wouldn’t hear it…although I think I soften him up a little. You should see him right before his match and sees what he said.”

Wait

“Right.”

Wait.

“Aight man, I’ll talk to you when we get over there…later.”

He closes his phone and puts his boots on top of his desk and his hands in the back of his head. He smiles…

“It’s only a matter of time.”

Fade to black.

A good explanation of why a manager is a good idea, a good study of a veteran trying to help while his cocky protege thinks he's too good for it, and a subtle reference to Samoa Joe without actually name-checking him. All in all, a damn good promo.

Having been around for the tail end of Bo's last run, the portrayal of him as the bitter, jaded veteran trying to help his protege avoid his mistakes really resonates.

No love for Drazon, though? I'm shocked...

Well, I'll always have a warm place in my heart for Jay Dawg; he put me over when it was nothing in it for him, just to advance a storyline that I was unwittingly thrust into when Johnny was in one of his flaky periods.

Plus, me and Johnny beat Jay Dawg and Bo in our first tag team match; I remember them being... less than pleased with that... ;)

Well, I don't know whether you wrote or not, but it looked at the time like you read it at least once before it was turned in... But yeah, you guys were our first tag team victims... Jay Dawg even ate the first Dangerous Drop in the WF (I think Jack the Ripper took the first ever), which, interestingly enough, wasn't the actual finisher.

EDIT - My bad: here's the show.

:: waits for Muzz to remind me how full of myself I am :: ;)
