March 13-16: Arnold Palmer Invitational by Mastercard. Bay Hill, Orlando Vijay Singh

March 20-23: WGC: CA Championship. Doral, Miami Tiger Woods

March 20-23: Puerto Rico Open by Banco Popular. Trump International, Rio Grande Inaugural

March 27-30: Zurich Classic. TPC Avondale, New Orleans Nick Watney

A little late, but plenty going on: The Isenhour saga, Daly's antics, Ernie making news, an inaugural event and the second playing at a new course (Zurich). Plus, two really good tournaments this and next week, and the Masters are sneaking up. :D

Have at 'er.

I stopped watching about a half an hour ago to start my laundry, but Singh dropped four shots in three holes: bogey, double, bogey. He actually made a hell of an up and down to salvage that double bogey. Still, he's two back at -5, tied with Tiger. Pretty crowded at the top, with four guys at -7 and two at -6.

I knew as soon as Tiger posted that 66 that he'd be in the lead at the end of the day. Barring a birdie by Vijay on 18, that's exactly where he'll be.

The 16th is just a nightmare -- watching Nick Watney post an 8 there (drive OB, 4th shot in the water fronting the green) to go from 2 ahead to 2 behind was just ugly.

And on to Doral, where Tiger's won three straight CA championships. Additionally, he's won the last three tour events at Doral: CA last year, the Ford Championship in 2006, and the ridiculously entertaining 2005 Ford Championship.

Why is it that so many, including me, root against Tiger? With Bellicheck, there was an alibi to rooting against the Patriots. But I'm enjoying watching the Rockets win all these games in a row. The thought of them winning 25 or 30 or 35 games in a row seems pretty cool, and while it's lessened because of the World Series, I loved the story of the Rockies this year.

I mean, for nearly 15 years, Tiger has broken records, smashed records, and had records invented because of him. There's legitimate sports history being made, yet I find myself hoping to miss a putt on Sunday afternoon.

I have no idea why you don't like Tiger. Maybe its his attitude if he lost, or how he gets excited over a bad drive or when he makes a miracle shot/putt.

I'm not the biggest fan of Mr. Woods, but I can't help but be amazed at what he has accomplished and just the shots he is able to do.

Want yet another reason to hate Johnny Miller?

(I might have this slightly off, but the quote by Miller is letter perfect). Earlier today, Adam Scott and Geoff Ogilvy, paired with Tiger in the last group, are keeping ahead, as Tiger pars along. With Ogilvy in the lead, Scott lines up a birdie putt, which would tie him for the lead with his fellow Aussie. Set the scene for us, Johnny:

This to open up a four-shot lead on Tiger.

Fucking idiot. He could have shot four straight rounds of 63 at Oakmont and I'd still hate his commentary.

Geoff Ogilvy closes with eight straight pars for a one-under 71 and a -17 total; good enough to win by one over Singh, Furyk, and Goosen, who all finished one back at -16. Tiger finishes fifth at -15. All players mentioned not named Ogilvy fired 68 in the final round.

So Ogilvy, along with his win at the 2006 Match Play becomes one of three players to have double WGC wins.

Bubba Watson blew a fuse on Steve Elkington yesterday, telling him to 'stop fucking walking' and at one point, telling him to kiss his ass. Nick Faldo laughing when the camera picked it up live probably didn't help matters, and Elkington walked off the 18th green without shaking the hands of Watson or Shigeki Maryuma, and it looked like they argued some more in the scorer's tent. Watson has since apologised, but coupled with a colourful leaderboard, and the animals on the course Wednesday and Thursday, it's been a pretty unique week so far.
