Well I have heard it said (and I agree) that Bin Ladin chose a bunch of Saudis because he wanted to further drive a wedge into america and saudi arabias communication. If he chose 19 afghanistans, what more would that have done? Hell he probably could have easily picked 19 American citizens (of any ethnicity) who are sick enough to kill other Americans. Granted, maybe not with the suicide tactics of 9/11, but I belive those terrorists were chosen to provoke the same kind of reaction that you're showing. It's the terrorists that deserve blame, not the Saudis, or the Afghanis, or the Iraqis. I think theres a huge difference? What happened to America being a proud beacon of democratic freedom etcetera? What ever happened to NOT killing innocent civilians? Like I said, I think the average terrorist is more supported than the average afghani, *meaning* he has better weapons. I mean technically we could all (all of us on this board for instance) rush some crazy militant's compound and get the guy, but some of us would die. Because we aren't armed as well. Would you like to be the one to die? I don't think the average afghani should go throwing rocks at guys with guns just to appease you. *BUT* they should be denouncing stuff. You know what MAD is, everyone knows what MAD is. In theory, NOONE should have to or be able to use a nuke! It's just not right IMO. We DIDN'T launch at the Russians. Even though they had them. Because they would have launched too. But it worked both ways. I don't think we should even consider nuking afghanistan, because they don't have nukes. I just see nukes as being inhumane, like Bio weapons and Chemical weapons. If we started dropping VX on the afghanis I would be pissed off. Can't you see that there's no reason to use weapons of mass destruction, no legitimate reason to use them against humans!? IMO nukes are only good for invading alien menaces and maybe godzilla

But wouldn't it have been smart if 10 years ago the US had invested in a 10 year program to find a real alternative energy source? I'm sure we could have done it if we invested the money we put into fossil fuels into research. Then we could stop depending on oil, both foreign and local. I wish that that would have happened, and I wish I could think it will happen in the next 20 years. And it SO could happen it really could. But Fossil fuels have a very tight strangle hold on the american economy and it would take someone AND all of us as a nation to look past the money for a few years. But wouldn't the returns be worth it!?

There's a lot of that going on right now. It takes a while, though; you basically have to redesign a lot of things from the ground up.

Russia would love to sell us oil. So would Alberta. We have access to more oil in reserves and shales that has ever come out of the Middle East. Why, then, haven't we told Prince Cocksucker and the rest of Arabia to go bet bent?
