Copper Feel 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 I am going to be seeing Radiohead live in Glasgow on the 27th of June. Naturally, none of the people who I am going with (or myself for that matter) are financially secure enough to book into a hotel. So, I figured that a youth hostel would be a far more affordable option. I just wondered about a couple of the basic formalities that apply to youth hostels in general. 1. How much do they generally cost to book into? 2. Is it a requirement that you book in advance? 3. Would the people who run them be likely to refuse you entry if you returned past a certain hour? All help is appreciated.
Dr. Zoidberg 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 My buddy stayed at a hostel in New York, and I reckon hostels are generally the same around the world, but, I dunno. 1. Usually, they cost about 10 dollars American, so, what's that? 6 quid? 2. My buddy just showed up to his and got a bed. If they have spare beds, they'll give it to ya. 3. He would return at 3:30 am pretty much every night. He said he just used the place to sleep and keep some of his shit. The main problem to look out for is someone taking your bed. Again, I don't know if that's how it is in hostels all over the world. A bit mo' research oughta do ya some good, though.
Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 1. How much do they generally cost to book into? It depends: could be as low as £10 a night to prices equal of hotel rooms. It really depends on how many people are in the dorm. 2. Is it a requirement that you book in advance? Again it depends. It will make sure you get a room/ bed if you do and might be cheaper. 3. Would the people who run them be likely to refuse you entry if you returned past a certain hour? Again depends on the hostel. Some have curfews, some are open 24/7 like hotels.
