AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 (ok, gamespot really...but...) The Incredible Hulk Hands-On We play Hulk. Hulk smash. Hulk fun. By Brian Ekberg, GameSpot Posted May 16, 2008 10:54 am PT Hulk here. I coming out with game soon that come with movie. It blockbuster summer action movie starring puny Ed Norton and beautiful Liv Tyler. Hulk love Liv Tyler because she pretty. Hulk think Ed Norton overrated. Anyway, Hulk movie coming out in June and game too. You will play game or HULK WILL SMASH YOU! It make Hulk not happy when puny man not play Hulk game. You not like Hulk when he get angry. Anyway, Hulk getting off track. Let Hulk tell you about game! Link Gameplay movies: http://youtube.com/watch?v=M4zLTEopBVk&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=oXpWCSvDIxo&feature=related So...Sega got some no-name developer to pretty much blatantly copy Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and make a current-gen game out of it. Also, looks darn good in any case! Other than the lack of a Prince of Persia running-up-walls animation (which I guess isn't in the movie, then), looks like they've nailed it and got a smooth-playing game out of it, too! With Prototype delayed I may just have to get this, provided there isn't some terrible flaw in the game we find out from reviews. (It's due to ship June 5). Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Alright, so at work (Gamestop).. we're pimping out the whole "reserve the game and get Red Hulk" as a playable character. So.. to those more up on the comic tip, what exactly is Red Hulk?
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Alright, so at work (Gamestop).. we're pimping out the whole "reserve the game and get Red Hulk" as a playable character. So.. to those more up on the comic tip, what exactly is Red Hulk? Haven't been reading too many comics lately, but Red Hulk is a mysterious new "bad guy Hulk". I saw that the Red Hulk in the game for GameStop is a seperate character model and not just a color scheme change. Do you know if the Red Hulk is truly just available on discs bought at GameStop or is it an unlockable that GameStop has a code in the case for? Here is a little blurb on the Red Hulk from Hulk's Wikipedia: Marvel also launched a new volume of Hulk, written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Ed McGuiness. The series opens with an investigation into the possible appearance of a new Hulk, and reveals that Bruce Banner is no longer comatose, and is imprisoned by the US military. The new crimson skinned Hulk is much more savage, brutal, and is driven by pure killing instinct. This Red Hulk has displayed increased strength on a casual level that rivaled even Green Scar Hulk (ex. Causing seismic activity that equaled a teraton in dynamite energy, which is equivalent to a meteoric impact by landing after jumping). His blood and pupils seem to be of a yellowish glow, which could mean an alternate power source for his powers. Smoke and other fumes have been noted leaving the Red Hulk as a result of cuts suffered during a fight with Wendigo. Ed Mcguiness has mentioned in a Wizard article that he plans to have the Red Hulk display reality bending strength never before seen previously in Marvel; one such feat he plans to display is the Red Hulk pushing a fully powered Juggernaut back, as well as killing Wendigo, a mystical creature more than capable of fighting the Green Hulk to a standstill. Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 GameStop Exclusive Xbox 360 Version Featuring the Red Hulk! Comic book fans know that the mysterious Red Hulk has recently been smashing up the Marvel Universe – and only GameStop has your chance to play as him in The Incredible Hulk! Available in GameStop’s exclusive Xbox 360 version, the Red Hulk is immediately available for use (unlike other hidden playable characters, artwork and movies that must be unlocked through gameplay). Rather than simply change the color of the game’s green Hulk in-game model, developer Edge of Reality has created an entirely new in-game model for Red Hulk, with facial features and hair all straight from the pages of Marvel’s latest comics. And he’s only available at GameStop! Relentless Devastation. Unleashing the Hulk’s anger generates Rage points that increase his incredible power. Complete Destruction. Everything in the environment can be used as a weapon. Open World. Players have total freedom to play any way they want as they move and fight effortlessly throughout the massive city. Meh, I'll find out more when I go back to work..but I haven't seen or read anything in our e-mails about it. I doubt there's a special pressing of disks made just for Gamestop so I'm assuming that it'll just be a code or something to input.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 I doubt he'll play any differently, though.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2008 http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=31681...amp;sec=REVIEWS Review by Nick Suttner I've gotta be straight with you -- The Incredible Hulk -- the game based on the new film -- doesn't really need to exist. It's not a bad time by any means, and will most definitely fill a weekend with some satisfyingly wanton mayhem, but the fact remains: Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, released three years ago for PS2, GameCube, and Xbox, is a better game in most every regard, backwards-compatible on all three next-gen counterparts, and available for less than a quarter of the price (as long as you don't mind ordering online). The missions, objectives, and story, well...I can take them or leave them. They're not awful, but they are laughably repetitive and uninspired. Whether you're ferrying Rick Jones around on your back like a baby monkey or fighting the same three robots for the umpteenth time, it all devolves into the same thing: Get from point A to point B, kill group C of enemies. When it strays from the path of predictability, it gets a bit more exciting -- having to stay on the run from volleys of missiles from the sky, fighting the odd enemy who's just as mobile and volatile as you -- but on the whole, it's too easy, too straightforward, and nothing you haven't played before elsewhere. In Ultimate, Hulk would ascend buildings by simply running up the sides -- obviously not realistic, but it imbued the game with an amazing sense of freedom (better than any game of its ilk, I would say, including Crackdown), and allowed you to run horizontally along them as well, or in any direction required. In Ultimate, Hulk simply pulls himself up vertical surfaces hand over hand, like a giant green ape on Most Extreme Elimination Challenge. But because climbing is locked to a more rigid Y axis -- or shimmying slowly left to right -- it doesn't feel nearly as intuitive or entertaining to explore the city. Still fun, sure...but simply not as good as its clear inspiration; if you're going to lift every other idea from the source material, go all the way in the service of making the game as good as it can be. I can't just quietly ignore the fact that a similar, but far better Hulk game (the best superhero game, for my money) sits on my shelf at home, and is readily available for anyone to track down. So be a hero and support an old gem if you're really in the mood to smash something. So, Ultimate Destruction still sits at the top of the heap, and Hulk Movie Game is a pale imitator. Still, should be a great rental at least. Also, FYI I saw the game in store today. PS2 version is $30, Wii version is $50, and Standard Next Gen Game Pricing (hint: Xbox 3__) applies for the HD versions (I didn't see the PSP one). I'm not sure if any actual gameplay diffs between them, but there's food for thought. Also, as for the Gamestop exclusive, Red Hulk is there on the box, so looks like they actually did make special Gamestop discs. Go figure...
Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2008 So I checked out Hulk today.. Yeah, Red Hulk is an immediate unlockable for those that got copies from Gamestop. Those of you that have rented or played and have thus saved Iron Man to your HD or memory card, you'll unlock Iron Man in a Hulkbuster character to play as. From what I can tell, they all play the same with no real difference between Fix-It (the 360 exclusive). Its kinda repetitive, but the sandbox aspect is pretty fun and destroying every building like the Baxter building or the Marvel building is nice.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 Typo I think: Fix-It is the PS3 exclusive, IIRC.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 Nope, Fix-It is 360 and PS3 gets Scar Hulk. The Strat guide has it listed as so and when I booted up the copy I checked out, Fix-It was playable from the get go while I think I've got to beat the game in order to get Scar or whatever. Scroby 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 I played the first Hulk game that came out a few years ago and while it was fun, it got really boring and fast. I have a feeling this new Hulk game will pretty much be the same way, fun but yet will get old fast.
