Guest !!! Report post Posted June 25, 2008 I've fully gone to the dark side. Not only do I no longer hate some dork with a lisp singing about underage sex, I enjoy it. I don't even think it sounds terribly dated anymore. How did I allow this to happen? I suppose it was inevitable. I couldn't resist the perfection of Aja forever. I ultimately buckled on Radiohead, Springsteen, and Steely Dan. On Saturday, I was driving a convertible and listening to Steely Dan. I felt like I was having a mid-life crisis, and I was totally okay with that.
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 The Eagles are only a hop, skip and jump away now. Soon you shall wear the bottoms of your trousers rolled. Youth is lost...forever.

PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 And with a face like a dad listenin' to Steely Dan, you can sleep on the plane or review what you said. When you're drunk and the kids look impossibly tan you think over and over, "hey, I'm finally dead."
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 I'm just waiting for Czech to roll out in a convertable blaring out Van Halen. And I'm not talking about David Lee Roth era.
Guest !!! Report post Posted June 25, 2008 Right now, I'm polishing my aviators. Right now, I'm trying to get that windswept look in my hair. Right now, I'm privately self-loathing. Right now, I'm dead inside.
Kinetic 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 I have trouble imagining Czech listening to the Eagles. I predict that he'll next succumb to the charms of the carefully crafted and impeccably performed mini-symphonies of Abba.
Guest !!! Report post Posted June 25, 2008 When I was at a Beef-A-Roo in Rockford that day, I wanted to go all Thunder Road on the girl working there and be like "you're too good to be stuck here working at the Beef-A-Roo," but then I realized my life kinda sucks too! I just have a low-paying radio job and an odious personality.

Guest !!! Report post Posted June 25, 2008 Oh, I'm probably going to delete this thread in the morning. I shouldn't be posting.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 No don't. Maybe this should be a thread about embarassing music moments.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 I'm just waiting for Czech to roll out in a convertable blaring out Van Halen. And I'm not talking about David Lee Roth era. I'd think Czech would like Van Hagar more than Roth-era VH. It's less ass-rock, more melodic and tender. SO BABY DRYYYYYYY YOUR EYYYYYYES SAVE ALL THE TEARS YOU'VE CRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIED OOOOOOOOOHH THAT'S WHAT DREEEEEEEEEEEEAMS ARE MAAAAAAAAAAAADE OF
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 I found myself listening to Boston the other day. Like three entire albums. I haven't even heard Boston unless it's on the radio since my mom's ex-husband played them when I was a youngin'. Or on the radio every once in a while. It was a pretty surreal experience, I listened to the self titled debut, then the follow up to that, Don't Look Back, then the '94 comeback Walk On. Walk On was basically one big song, which is cool. Bat Out of Hell is one of my favorite albums. I remember getting in to alot of older music by looking through my ex-stepdad's tapes and records. I started by listening to albums because I thought their covers were cool. KISS, Meatloaf, Boston, Motley Crue... I even liked Y&T when I was really little. All because of those fuckin' robot covers. So there, Some of my Embarassing Music Moments. I listened to Y&T and several other terrible hairbands when I was a kid. Now I only listen to a few. Also, I listened to damn near all of Boston's catalog the other day. And now I have insomnia again. Which is why this post is long, and probably doesn't make sense. I blame the intensity of all that Boston in one setting as the cause of my insomnia coming back.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 I've gained a much greater appreciation for Boston since the release of that 6-song pack for Rock Band. Steely Dan is another issue entirely.
Kinetic 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 Listeners who enjoy Steely Dan might also enjoy 10cc's Sheet Music, a similarly intricate and fussed-over affair. Highlights include "The Wall Street Shuffle," "Hotel," and "The Sacro-Iliac."
MrRant 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 Boston is a great band. There is no shame in liking them.
