"jedi Starfighter" Review

Jedi Starfighter for PS2

Takes place during Episode II: Attack of the Clones. You play alternate roles, sometimes as Jedi Knight Adi Gallia, and sometimes as a weird squid guy named Nimh. They both have different ships, different weapons, and stuff.

Anywho, a Lord Toth is developing a new weapon of mass destruction. Hex weapons, which... well, I'm not quite sure what they do, but it's bad. Real bad. Anyway, Adi is sent to some sector to investigate Trade Federation activity (where they're producing the weapon), and she meets up with Nimh, an on the run mercenary with a grudge against the federation.

You take them through 15+ missions of shoot-first-ask-questions-later starfighter goodness.

The Lo-Down: Good fun. Challenging without being too hard, on the higher difficulty settings. There's a good deal of hidden bonus stuff, some good, some ok, some useless.

The only real problem with this game is, like so many others, there's just not enough of it. The story covers 15 missions, when it could have easily covered more. Have the option to play as either character during the missions, each with different objectives, and you get a longer better game.

Definitely worth a rental. But that's all.

Your review pretty much sums it up, though I bought the game and am pretty happy with it.

The game would be crap if it wasn't for the bonus and hidden objectives that add a better level of challenge to the game. Plus, you can unlock about nine playable fighters (X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Advanced Jedi Starfighter - all force powers unlocked, Advanced Freefall, Advanced Zoomer, Sabaoth Fighter, Advanced Havoc, and the two best bonus craft - the Republic Gunship and Slave I). Plus most of the five bonus missions are pretty fun to fly too.

How would you say it ranks with Star Wars: Rouge Squardron II: Rouge Leader?
